wait.. you can post outside of BeyonceGAF? :p
Vita's been sitting in a drawer since I got my PS4, but I'll get back to it soon.

Bought Rayman Legends once it was patched to make it a complete game, and that will probably consume my entire life for a few days.

Keep informing the PEOPLE in my absence, though. RCR was such garbage. I still can't believe I spent $15 on it.

Terraria has a very generous demo. Although no save, so I've had it on all day so far. It never grabbed me on PC, but in vita it is strangely addictive. I'm mostly just digging and exploring, I have no idea what you're supposed to do with houses. I am slightly annoyed that some old man moved into my house and I don't know how to make home move out though.

What's the best way to avoid OLED burn in? I have been using the Vita browser a lot in the past month and I'm getting worried the bar on the right is going to burn in eventually :\

the best way to avoid oled vita burn in is obviously to just import a 2k vita and use the lcd screen instead :P

In general though to avoid burn in you want to avoid having the same images on the screen all the time. Make sure to not use the browser for really long periods of time without other stuff going on... and i suppose find some games that don't use the colors the browser uses and play those lots to so that your oled deteriorates at about the same rate.

Just got myself a VITA! YES! My buddy just told me Tearaway goes on sale tomorrow at GS for 20.00 so that rules. Are there any free PS+ games on the VITA at the moment? I have a PS4 so I'll be cross playing the shit out of this thing tonight.

Welcome to the party! I believe these are free right now:

Hotline Miami, Soul Sacrifice, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, Wipeout 2048, Gravity Rush, Uncharted, and maybe a few smaller ones (pinball?). Remember all you have to do is "purchase" the free content to have it saved to your PS+ permanently, i.e. you keep it after it's removed from PS+.

So awesome! That is the best news. Thanks so much for the info dude! I'm about to go pick this bad boy up from best buy so I'll be checking all of these free games out.

Don't forget you can go to web store and "purchase" the free games for all platforms, PS4, PS3 and Vita.

Kind of oldish but I haven't seen any posts about it here, and I just spotted it browsing the /v/ catalog.

Mages released a render of Ayumi's character model for Corpse Party Blood Drive. The first game's style is definitely returning, and since the character models are 3D, you can rotate the camera around to get a better look at the environment.

Source.

I'm way too excited about this game. I need it into my veins, right now. It'll probably be a good while before we see it in the west though.

Okay cool! So I don't necessarily have to dl them to purchase them right? I can just purchase and dl at anytime and it's basically in my library forever as long as I have ps+? That rules if so lol!!

Nope you can purchase them when they are on promotion and then download them at any time as long as you have plus. Its there forever.

Correct! If you do it on your Vita, it'll start to auto-download. You can just cancel the DL though.

I find the web store to be the easiest for adding stuff to my PS+ backlog.

Yeah, this. The web store is the easiest way to add games to your ever increasing backlog. You can do Vita, ps3 and ps4 all in one go.
The Vita store has no cart system, the ps3 does but only shows ps3 and Vita games and the ps4 only shows ps4 games.

My one day old Vita Tearaway bundle + LittleBigPlanet + 16GB card (reflecting a Wind Waker HD game guide, because art). By the way, has anyone ever heard or seen of a situation where a Vita bundle is advertised as being WiFi only, but the actual console inside the actual bundle is a 3G model?

I've been diving in deep to Tearaway and my PS+ back catalogue for most of the day. I'm super duper impressed by all of the software suspending and UI stuff going on with the Vita, it's all really super duper quick and easy to use.

If I wanna get up into the US and JP stores, I'm gonna need to have those accounts on two more separate memory cards, right?

Got my 64GB memory card today. I haven't started transferring stuff to it yet. I'll probably do that tomorrow, since it'll probably take all day. NCSX still hasn't shipped my 2000 year. Maybe next week.

Say... how big is Resistance: Burning Sky the game? Because on a whim I checked my download list on my Vita's PSN and it has this game listed at 2.9 GB.... the thing is, I have never bought this game before so maybe perhaps at some point I did try the demo (I honestly forget if I actually did) but... 2.9 GB is wayy to big for a demo... right?

I don't understand....

The demo for Resistance is pretty fucking huge. It's probably the same file as the full game, just with most things locked off.

I just noticed Escape Plan for VITA is appearing as Free on PSN. I am not sure if i saw it before. What's surprising to me is that the DLC is also available for free now. While i did own the original Escape Plan on VITA, i never had the DLC. Now it seems like the PS4 re-release has resulted in the DLC "Bakuki's Lair" available for free(Or was it even a DLC?)

Also got my $10 bonus :D

Top of the page recommendation

Buy Tearaway, you must
Rainbow Moon
Stick it to the Man
Terraria
Ys: Memories of Celceta
Spelunky ($3.75 on Holiday Sale Week 2)

just checked... :/ the DLC isn't free for me :/

Huh... it does not say demo anywhere on the file though...

But if it is indeed just a demo... 2.9 GB demo, what the fuck....... then I don't want to download it.

I believe Resistance: Burning Skies is a full game trial.

hum is Ys: Memories of Celceta a good rpg never played one before and should i start with that one?

I haven't played Celceta yet, but the Ys games are usually standalone. You'll know more about the world, and the characters if you've played previous games, but you won't be entirely lost if you haven't. It's a quality action RPG franchise, and reviews have been very praiseworthy for Celceta.

I enjoyed it, but it's definitely bad.

For me, Burning Skies is one of those "it could have been great, but..." type of games.

It had a good foundation. The gunplay was enjoyable - not amazing, but solid enough for one of the first portable FPSs - and I really liked how sprint was mapped to the down button. Wish more Vita shooters would do that rather than use the rear touchpad.

Everything on PSN should be on PS Vita. It's a shame that they didn't think ahead with it and made the PSN code being future-proof for Vita and other devices.

The only way the stuff on the PSN could work on everything is if everything had the same exact specs. The main reason consoles can draw out so much power from their specs compared to PCs is because the games are programmed to work at optimal performance from the platform they are made for, where as PC games are made to work on a wide range of different specs.

You get BC on consoles from the new consoles being able to either run an emulator to make the code work on the new system, or by actually having the previous system hidden inside of them (if I recall right the ps1 engine is actually on every ps1 disk and that is why it's easy for the later systems to run. The ps2 required the ps3 to have a chip set included with in to run on the ps3, with the 60gb models basically having an entire ps2 hiding inside of them to make BC work). The emulation route tends to require the new system being a decent amount more powerful than the old, and the vita is in no way more powerful than the ps3. No matter how hard sony planned there is absolutely no way the vita could play all of the ps3 games on the PSN as it just wouldn't be able to handle it. I suppose you could have designed an engine that scaled depending on platform, but that would require all games published to use that engine and would likely drive developers off the playstation brand.

Really their remote play solution is the best solution for getting things compatible with the vita, as it doesn't require the base game to be compatible with multiple systems just the ps4 which will handle sending it to the vita.

tl;dr - There is nothing that could be magical about the PSN versions of stuff. PS3 games are still coded for PS3, vita for vita, and since their designs are so different there isn't a way to make one universal code for both.

Full game trial...? Huh. Asking people to download a 2.9 GB file to just 'try it out' is... I don't even....

I admit I'm curious but... I guess it isn't worth it either way.

ha ha you think 2.9gb is bad? a number of the ps3 full game trails were over 15gb :P

Shocking how many people think that video games in digital form are like an .mp3.

*sigh*

I want To The Moon on PS Vita so bad. I'd pay $60 for it.

Pretty much. Is Resistance: Retribution on PSN? Might double dip to play it on Vita. Unless the price sucks.

$14.99 on NA PSN .N̶o̶ ̶m̶u̶l̶t̶i̶p̶l̶a̶y̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶o̶u̶g̶h̶,̶ ̶i̶f̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶w̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶e̶r̶e̶s̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶p̶o̶r̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶g̶a̶m̶e̶. Well apparently the multiplayer is there:

The multiplayer is alive, well and it works on Vita. Why they have that disclaimer on the store, I don't know.

Started my 15 day free trial of Japanese PS+.
It doesn't require a credit card on the account. (Thought I heard something about it needing one but maybe it's only US or EU.)

Mainly I'm just planning on using it as a free demo for Disgaea 3 Return and STEINS;GATE (S;G coming to PS+ on the 17th) and maybe CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, but wow there sure are a lot of PS1 games on PS+, more than a hundred. Went ahead and "bought" everything, although it seems unlikely I'll ever play things like Sanyou Pachinko Paradise 5 or Ide Yousuke's Mahjong Classroom.

Not sure if I'll continue after the trial--I have such a backlog as it is that spending time on games I'm only half-interested in would be a waste. But I'll see what they add next month.

Not sure where to ask this but:

Anyone have trouble/luck with multiple Vitas going online in the same house over the same wifi point?

Playing Killzone Merc here with a friend doesn't work; only one of us can connect to a game at a time.

Got a 64gb from yesasia for less than $100.

Yes! I've never played it, but I really want to, so I've just been holding out hope that they bring it over to the Vita eventually. Though I Googled it once, and I think the devs said they didn't have the resources to port it over.

Grats on the new vita! =)
Technically you don't need another memory card, but its a lot of hassle because you have to wipe and restore your memory card every time you swap accounts (on top of the reset system to factory settings)

Coming from one of the hugest To the Moon fans out there (I even registered for their official forums to talk about the game), I don't understand this. What would you do with such a port? I mean, I played the game twice (once by myself, once with my girlfriend), but after that? You replay it over and over?

I mean, I would pay good money for Vita ports of games with lots of replay value (FTL, Spelunky, Dustforce, Don't Starve, that kind of things) but much as I love To the Moon, the PC version has serviced me more than enough.
