Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

I am realllly going back and forth on this. It'd be nice to be able to play my umd games and gba emulation, but how finnicky is this hack?

Is it a smooth operation or is it rather buggy?

Well, TN-V3 was super buggy and is basically unusable for anything other than running PSP games. The other versions were fine and V4 should fix the problems in V3. Hopefully it will also finally add audio for PS1 games, but that was being worked on by someone else and may or may not be ready, we won't know until we see the change log.

I assume this is going to work like V3, so you would download 6.60 from Sony and it will modify and install that, so you get the familiar XMB and everything.

I don't have a Vita right now, but does anyone know if I buy this game on the computer through SEN if it will download the file to my PC so I can save it for later or do you need to have a Vita connected to the service?

Do you have a PS3? Pretty sure you can DL it to that and transfer from there later.

Alright, bought it and downloading now. Isn't it strange Sony hasn't taken it down yet? Makes me worried they know there's not a problem.

They took their sweet time the last time around as well. The last exploit (UNO) actually topped the monthly PSP sales charts so maybe they just want to sell some copies of those games ┐(´ ~`;)┌

Are the various emulators still good with the 32 mb of ram restriction? I'm thinking of using this to play some GBA games like FF5A, but I'm on 3.01.

Has there really been no exploits since UNO? Wow. That was my only exploit up until now.

With UNO the problem must've been that it was Xmas so there was nobody at work to take it down.

Only VHBL exploits as far as I know. Didn't bother with those and I won't bother with the current one either I don't think.

Its okay if we've already bought it right? Removing it from the store wont stop me from downloading it? I'm trying, but its going super slowly unfortunately

I'm not sure but aslong as it's still downloading you should be fine I think, if you haven't downloaded it so far Sony might have removed it from your download list already :(

It's downloading right now, but I am about to go and not bringing my Vita would be pretty boring for where I am going to go...

Could I pause the download and resume it when I get back? If not letting it download would risk the exploit then I will certainly leave it, but if I can take it offline for a little while and be safe then I'd prefer to do that.

I sadly can't answer that, I was never in a situation where Sony removed something while the download was still running :/ Technically aslong as the file still exists on the server the download should resume but that's all I can say D:

Hmmm, I bought it but never downloaded it and it's not in any of my download lists, only transaction log and I can't download it from there. Guess I'm screwed. Anything else I can do?
You're screwed. Your last chance is to get a second Vita, update to 3.00 and buy King of Pool.

Huh... Well, that's horribly lame. I wonder if there's a way to get Sony to refund it? >_>

CEF TN-V4 is released.

It's on HackInformer.com

Omg yes and even the King of Pool version too:

Wow that wait wasn't as long as I expected. I thought they wouldn't realise it till Christmas.

God it's so weird. 2 weeks ago I sacrificed my UNO Exploit to get Remote Play on my Vita. Without even blinking I already have it hacked again lool.

EDIT: Works great with King of Pool. PS4 Remote Play and PSP Custom Firmware together! Didn't have to wait long at all :P.

I'm running TN-V4 now too though one question, how do I install VitaFTP? I'm really clueless as to install homebrew with the full-sized PSP XMB :(

[How to install ZIPs]
* Create an ZIP archive of a homebrew, saved as: "XXXXXXXX.ZIP/PSP/GAME/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/EBOOT.PBP", where 'XXXXXXXX' is the name of the archive and 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX' of your homebrew.
* Save the archive in the savedata folder where you can find 'TN.BIN' and 'FLASH0.TN'. The file must be UPPER CASE LETTER and max. 8 characters long.
(In example: MYZIP.ZIP)
* Transfer the savedata to your PS Vita using CMA. Ensure that the savedata is at least as big as your ZIP archive is.
* Launch your exploit game and boot the VSH, then select 'Memory Stick' in the 'Game' column.
* Press triangle on the homebrew and select 'Install' to extract the contents to your Memory Card.
* The homebrew doesn't appear directly. You first have to close the game menu, select something else, and then reopen it.

Every exploit has gotten worse for me. :( This one is slow and requires more input.

And unfortunately the system update option didn't seem to work.
