Super Smash Bros Wii U & 3DS Thread 4: New Year, Old Arguments

I just took Rainbow Road to get to the new thread. It smells in here.

I've been playing Dillon's Rolling Western today and it didn't really click with me before, but I'm starting to have fun with it. It gets pretty intense as it goes on and you have to be pretty careful with how you spend your money.

I think Dillon will be an AT at most, but I wouldn't mind if he was actually playable. A Rolling Western stage would be pretty cool too.

Dude is huge.
"LOOK AT ALL MY PRESENTS SAMUS!"

I wish another good Metroid game would come out so Slowbeef could Let's Play it.

This is the kind of stuff that was going on before in certain Nintendo threads.
I'm pretty sure that quote is trolling.

But Jesus Christ, that's scary.

There are plenty of places on the net to live out whichever said desires you have or want to discuss, but I'm sorry, seeing people post pictures of very odd Krystal cosplay with the person half naked and posting children characters from Pokemon with huge breasts or Pokemon with breasts or sexualized in some manner is pretty creepy to be seen in OTs of said games.

...Oh.....my....wat?

Isn't there already a DKCR3D stage in the 3DS version? There will probably be a Tropical Freeze stage in the Wii U version too.
Nobody can say what this is, but I'm pretty sure it's not a Donkey Kong Country Returns stage. I don't think it's a regular multiplayer stage at all--it has never, not once, appeared in any pic of the day or in a picture in any character's profile image. Its arrangement is very odd, the artstyle unrecognizable and generic, and in the only footage it has ever appeared in (in the initial trailer) Mario jumped like a bazillion feet through the air through it (and it is a very vertically oriented area). I'm pretty sure it's an adventure mode type stage.

If it is a DKCR3D stage, it's a very poor representation of it.

I wish my extended family played smash... I want more people to play project M with. My first time playing with melee mechanics beyond just casual and I can't get enough!

Anyone else hoping to do something like playing smash with their family this holiday?

I play Brawl quite often with my friends and brothers, and it really becomes apparent which characters are better than others (I mostly play Marth/Wolf/Kirby)... but I do have so much fun breaking out some of the lesser characters. I guess they're like guilty pleasures or something.

For me, It's Ness and Luigi (Ganondorf/Captain Falcon also to an extent). They have so much going against them but they're just so fun to break out, it's also quite a challenge now that I'll have to work so much harder to win.

What about you guys?
I love playing Captain Falcon in 4 player games because he's great at catching the people who try to stay out of the action with that speed.
I would like to see some stages from some of the character based franchises they haven't shown stages for yet. Like Star Fox and Pokemon. Enough Mario (in general, characters/stages/items) for a while.
I'm surprised we haven't gotten a Mute City esque Star Fox level with the ship platform(s) landing and taking off.

It's a Ketzal's Corridors stage, book it.

My brother and I got together and have been playing Project M a ton. I also introduced my four little sisters (6-13) to Smash Bros. recently, so it's super fun having them spam moves constantly in three on one battles. Lol.
I'm so happy they removed Pit's HIYAYAYAYA!

^^ Edit for what's above ^^ by the way everyone talks about Sats I was always glad to never having prolonged exposure to Sats or having to stay in a thread with her

Praise master hand for the spoiler part! And the return of our boy Roy

I will be skipping both versions and playing Smash for with my mind.

...This Nintendo console fanboy stuff really needs to stop.

wii u version master race ;d

anyway, it's gonna be nice to play smash in HD, but I do like idea of portable smash which is why I'm probably gonna be playing it mostly off tv play via the gamepad. I've been playing games on the wii u 80% of the time off tv which is so much more comfortable/convenient for me than playing on the tv, heck it's more comfortable than the 3DS.

You didn't like Kongo Jungle in 64, or Jungle Japes in Melee? I love those stages, personally.

Kongo Jungle didn't feel like a DKC stage, felt more like DK 64 or something.

Jungle Japes is okay, the water made it more playable for me in Brawl but it still isn't close to approaching my top 15 smash stages.

Imagination is the best console. Costs nothing, has no graphic limitations, receives constant patches and improvements, and the worst people you meet online aren't able to use it.

The imagination consoles online is great unless you are a schizophrenic.

Fair enough. I'm a pretty big fan of Jungle Japes myself, though it's not an amazing or incredible stage or anything.

I just hope the next DK stage isn't an awful scrolling one like Rumble Falls in Brawl. That was terrible. I'm sure we'll get something at least DKCR inspired, but who knows if they'll make something with a classic DKC vibe again.

I'll take a solid DKCR stage. I just want a proper stage to play DKC music on while fighting.
