Do PSP games look good on the Vita? Any weird stretching or graphical problems?
Also, is the 2nd thumb stick usable?

Yes.

2D sprite games look absolutely fantastic. I have these 2D games installed on my Vita: FFIV Complete Collection, Half Minute Hero, Sega Genesis Collection, Final Fantasy Tactics, ClaDUN: This is an RPG, Castlevania: SOTN, Alundra, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, and Legend of Mana.

They all look amazing on the Vita screen.

As far as 3D PSP games, well, they look pretty awesome as well. There is some jagginess, but the filtering option helps a little. Games that I have installed on my Vita that look really good:

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Gods Eater Burst, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy IX, Vagrant Story.

Games that I used to have installed that look really good: Gladiator Begins, Final Fantasy Dissidia 012 Duodecem, The Third Birthday, Powerstone Collection, and Ys Seven.

Playing PS1 and PSP games on the Vita is like playing them fresh. Especially games like Dissidia, Monster Hunter, and Gods Eater, where you can map the camera to the right analog stick. It just feels so incredibly good. I can't imagine ever playing those games on a PSP ever again. Which makes it so frustrating that some games like Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, are unavailable on the PSN.

EDIT: I'm a 50ppp peasant, so top of page suggestion: Buy TEARAWAY! Fantastic game. I bought it full price, and don't regret it one bit!

Everything about Vita seems like it's truly a product delivered with love towards its buyer, the gamers.... except for the memory card, because fuck the price of Vita's MC. It's a slap to the face.

....having said that, however, I owned 8, 32, and 64.... hahaha.

I feel somewhat lucky. I bought the 32 GB at the beginning of the year for $60, and I bought a 64 GB for $90. Sold my 32 GB for $40. So it's like I've spent $70 on a 64 GB card in total.

Think I just did my best ever in a Spelunky run (for score - $161025), just loaded it up and jumped into the daily challenge and died at Olmec. I feel my skill growing for sure. Not sure if it's the same challenge for you guys as it seems to renew at exactly midnight in my time.

So glad they fixed the character used and level reached in the daily leaderboards.

Here is the problem
Go look at what a vector per scalar multiplication is :P

Assault Gunners, since you have access to a JP account. Very nice game, a bit short.
I like it too but i use the Japanese account rarely and only for demos.
Anyway i bought AC Last Raven Portable, it's in download but i have to go to bed now....

To me, resolution directly correlates to pixel count. Resolution is the number of pixels in a display, so if the number of pixels in the Vita display is four times that of the PSP display, then the resolution is also four times the PSP display. 960x544 is just an easier to to say that there are 522,240 pixels in the Vita display. You're speaking of dimensions, when display resolution doesn't refer to dimensions but rather pixel count.
When the number of pixel is the focus, like with photocameras, megapixel is used, not resolution ;)

You will have a rude spike death awakening soon, happens to the best of us. Yeah the daily challenge resets at the same time and is the same seed for everyone.

Can't decide between Tactics Ogre, FFT : War of the Lions, and Disgaea 3.

I want something from that genre, but can't choose. I'll probably end up getting the others later, but what should I get for now?

FFT : War of the Lions, and Disgaea 3 were free on PS+ didn't you get them? PS+ doesn't recycle but I would go with a native vita game Disgaea 3.

What's the general verdict on Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3? I've never played the series before and have only been a casual player of fighters in the past. I love the roster though and I'm a fan of both companies.

It's a really well made game and looks/plays fantastic on the Vita. Probably the best fighting game I've played on the system so far.

All three are great, but in order of my personal preference:

FFT
Tactics Ogre
Disgaea 3

God damn these trophies in Killzone Mercenary are brutal. You need 10,000 kills for one, and having beaten the game three times and played a good deal of multiplayer (all trophies except for the 10 kill streak and 100 games played), I only have 2,200 kills. Hopefully by my sixth play through I'm close.

there's too much games to play.
now with people hacking the WiiU Gamepad to stream PC.. I wonder if someone could do the same for Vita.

heck.. Sony should make this feature available between Vita and PC... would be sweet (doubt it will cannibalise PS4 sales)

it could cannibalize the sales of the only software coming to Vita tho

dem 50 cent steam indie games

That is f'n ridiculous. I am not a big trophy hunter myself, but I don't understand why they put shit like that in.

^ Rewards people who have put in a lot of time with the game...over trophy hunters. Doesn't bother me tooooo much.

Sucks because most probably put in like <2hours playtime with most indies they get for cheap on PC.

Did you guys say indies?

Fantastic game. One of the best GAMES I've played in my life, regardless of being indie or whatever (games are games). It's for titles like this that I bought the Vita.

Now, to platinum Tearaway.

I don't understand what the big deal with achievements and trophies are at all to be perfectly honest.

Eh, I'm a completionist. I like to get everything the game offers. If you don't like, that's ok. No one needs to be like us, who likes to 100% the game.

Congrads man, I hope to platinum it someday just because I loved it so much.

How much time should I put into Gravity Rush before deciding it's not for me? I've played through the first boss and I'm not really feeling it. The flying/falling mechanic seems imprecise and the combat simplistic.

Don't worry, I'm not taking a stab. I'm just saying I don't get it. I like to 100% games I really like too, and I've been doing it without trophies/achievements for decades that's all.

Also for example Killing 10,000 people is not something that I've ever considered as part of 100% completing a game.

Well, getting all trophies isn't always 100% completing a game IMO. There are tons of ways to play a game or things to do that never make it to be a trophy.

I am not knocking trophies, I just know that no trophy system could come up with some of the stuff I have done in games back when I was younger.

Great for you.

Native resolution?
I have DOA5+ and is really good, I want to buy MvC3 or Blazblue
What is the best?

I don't know if it's native or not, but it looks amazing either way. Also I've been playing Street Fighter games since I was 10, so I'm kind of biased towards UMvC3. Gave Blazblue a quick shot and it's legit though, just a little too different for me to want to get into it.

If you can't stand the combat now, then nothing will change that. It only gets worse as you go and have to fight more nevi. The high points for me were the world and story. I enjoyed flying freely and exploring its secrets. I don't think it's a game for everyone. It seems rather split. Some people loved it and others hated it.

Eh, getting all the trophies or achievements is the modern version of getting 100% in a game.

When the number of pixel is the focus, like with photocameras, megapixel is used, not resolution ;)

Megapixels is just another way to describe the amount of pixels in an easier way. It just happens to be used for digital imaging, whereas resolution is used for displays. When a person says a game runs in 1080p, they aren't saying that to tell you the game is 16:9 aspect ratio. They're saying that to tell you that the game renders a lot of pixels (2,073,600 specifically).

...not really. Back then, there wasn't any real reason to shoot an enemy mid air while using a sniper, or press the r button 20 times during the title screen or anything silly like that.

Achievements and trophies often are designed for many reasons. Some are silly, most have nothing to do with 100%ing a game.

Why are you being so defensive and snarky?

Yup, that's me. :)

I see them as chalenges from the developer. If I like the game, I'll do them.

Hmm thanks for the feedback. I'll try putting another hour. I do like the general fly/explore/collect theme. The racing challenges bring out some enjoyment to me also.
