Hm weird, all I can find is a site called Nintendo Enthusiast commenting on the fact the game would be coming to Wii U. In that it refers all remaining announced versions of Minecraft are projected as Summer 2014, with no concrete source.

Several sites then commented on that rolling with "Summer". Rumours huh. I think it's pretty clear how 4J roll, it'll probably just drop as a surprise like PS3.

That Wii U Mincraft article was already debunked by notch: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2013/12/29/notch-has-no-current-wii-u-minecraft-plans/

Moral of the story: We still have no idea when Minecraft vita is going to release. And I'm pretty sure that 4j doesn't even know when it'll release(Hell, I'd think that even if they gave a solid date).

VitaGAF, why didn't you tell me about Pavilion, an upcoming Adventure game for PS4 and Vita-

Do PSP games look good on the Vita? Any weird stretching or graphical problems?
Also, is the 2nd thumb stick usable?

1)Game looks way better on the vita, you wouldn't want to go back using the psp.
2) Not that I recall of. P3p and valkyria chronicles 2 looked really good.
3) Don't remember so I can't answer this.

The second stick is completely mappable

Hold PS button during PSP/PS1 play for various options!!

P3P does look good on the Vita but it's also not perfect. Without the "smoothing" option on, everything looks blocky or super jagged. With the smoothing on it just makes everything look a bit blurry. It's still fine though, you get used to it.

Finally finished Tearaway last night. Was an excellent game all the way through, but that ending... I didn't dislike it, but it just made me feel sad and empty afterwards. Kinda like TLoU did... Sony, quit toying with my emotions!

I just ordered the VITA+Tearaway Package through Amazon. What kind of memory card do I need? Is 8GB enough or is 16GB mandatory if you want to download the free PS+-games? How big are those games in general?

Thanks in advance.

If you have been redeeming all the PS+ Games, there isnt a card big enough to hold all dem games.

32GBs seem to be going down in price, it's worth it just to get that one until the 64GB is available and on sale at least.

Not even a 64 gig will satisfy you but it's the biggest out there for at least a while. Honestly, I'd just bite the bullet and import one right away.
I have 32 gb and I'm constantly thinking about upgrading to 64 gb.

If you don't mind using content manager and shuffling games between Vita and a PC/PS3 then 16 gb will do nicely. Most Vita owners want as much of their library available at all times, but some get by on 8 gig or even 4.
Games can be anything between 50mb and 3.3gb. I think Killzone is over 4 gig even after they massively downsized the patch.

16 gb is fine so long as you use your computer as a backup(With the wire the transfer rate of games back and forth makes this is a very convenient option).

Thanks for the reply. Didn't know there was a contentmanager to transfer games to the PC. I guess 16GB is enough then.

Hey guys after playing the japanese demo of Damascus Gear i sort of want a mech game, i guess that in EU i can only choose between Armored Core games for the PSP, are they good? If so which one should i get?
I would like one with lots of customization parts and weapons and not too hard.
Is there something else other than Armored Core games?

16 at a minimum. 32 preferred. 64 is godlike.

Some do, some don't. Sprite based games generally look really nice, polygon games are hit and miss but I haven't found one that is unplayable yet.

The 2nd thumbstick can be bound to other emulate other buttons so yep.

Vita's resolution is exactly two times the one of the PSP, so games scale perfectly the only differences are:
1)you pass from 4 inches screen to a 5 inches one
2)you can activate a bilinear filter(but i don't use it)
3)you can use the second analog
4)colors are better

I feel like this post is slightly misleading

The results definitely vary based on what game you play

Considering that the Vita is 2x the resolution of the PSP, the image scales well. However, the image quality suffers and there is no level of bi-linear filtering that will fix it. I would like to play PSP games at their native resolution on the OLED. That's it.

Just played an hour of Tearaway and getting close to the end. The game is absolutely fantastic. I'll probably work on getting the platinum after I finish or get tired of the other games in my Vita backlog (Dragon's Crown, Killzone Mercenary, EDF 2017, Sonic Racing, Atelier Totori Plus...).

Four times the resolution. Two times the horizontal pixels and two times the vertical pixels.

Man, there is some crazy stuff going on in that thread. I mean, how is posible that someone
killed fucking Tidus like two days after he is reborned? Seriously, there must be some people translating thing the wrong way or something.

What build do you have, Flandy? Chaos or Order? Maybe you aren't playing and leveling in a way that fits your strengths. I'm not a pro, but I think you should take into account:

- Elemental weaknesses are important. Try to remember which element an archfiend is weak too. If you hit enough an enemy, they'll get stunned for a short amount of time (it's like 20s, I think). Elemental weaknesses go this way: Fire, Wood, Stone, Lightning, Ice, Fire
- Chainned attacks are useful for dealing a big amount of damage to enemies afflicted by X Hell. It's hard to explain, but it works this way: A enemy is weak to fire. So you attack him with fire until he is in Burning Hell. Then you use a Ice skill and attack him. The Hell state will disapear, but he'll suffer an insane amount of damage.
- Learn which skills are better for you. I love melee combat and I like dealing a big amount of damage will paying attention to dodge attacks. I loved being a melee DPS at WoW (Ret paladin, Rogue, Enhancement Shaman) so it was a given i'll go for a chaos build. Maybe you fit Order, or Chaos, or maybe Neutral. Find what makes you feel comfortable. I think the game is pretty well balanced
- Use mind eye to find the cursed parts from the archfiends. Destroying cursed parts give you points and locks some enemies skills. When you destroy the Harpy's throat it'll stop using that sucking skill, for example.
- Learn patterns! There are animations before archfiends use a attack. Learn which one means what and how to answer to that skill (block? dodge? run away?)
- Play with me! :)
That thread is just unbelievable SPOILERS for the FFX/X-2 HD Remaster WILL thread or w/e its called
Fucking Tidus gets his head blown up with a Blitzball shaped Bomb? WAT. Then there's the whole Tidus get distracted at how sexy Yuna is during battle, Sin coming back, and now people are specualting that there might be ritual sex for the final Aeon.

I'm pretty early on in Soul Sacrifice. As in only about 4 hours of play time and barely in the 2nd chapter so I don't really know what my build is going to be. :\
Started playing FFIX on my Vita, keep switching between aspect ratios though, trying to find the one I prefer best. Think i'll stick with "original", how do other people play their PSX classics?

I remember playing a bit of this title when I borrowed it from a friend, and I remember one early cutscene in particular that made me sad, but never played furtehr than that, so this will be mostly all new to me :)
I prefer to play on original

Is it getting removed from the store? If it is, why?
Okay so I really want a stealth game and I'm thinking why not experience the game that everybody raves about and that I haven't experienced yet!

Original MGS!

Any impressions on it for the Vita ? Is it good ? And how about the collection ?

I should just get them all shouldn't I.

(I've only played MGS 4 lol)
I played it on my PSP a few years ago and it was fine. Should be even better on the Vita. I feel bad that your only mgs game was 4

What does the Color Space and Bilinear Filtering do? I assume the Filtering cuts down on Jaggies but I'm not sure what Color Space does.

Yes. The math checks out.
That's debatable imo, for how i see things: double the resolution = four times the pixels.
In math, vector * scalar: (480,272)*2 = (960,544)
When we talk about resolution(especially in videogames) we focus on the dimensions, not the number of pixels(i know it's the same but try to understand what i want to say lol), we talk about the lenght of the screen rect sides, not about the area of the screen rect.
I don't know if it's clear what i want to say and maybe i'm wrong but as i said imo: double the resolution = four times the pixels.

Color space let you choose between psp colors and vita colors, vita colors are warmer.
Bilinear filter try to hide jaggies but most of the times i prefer without it.

Nippon Yasan took payment for my 64GB card on the 27th December but it hasn't changed from "payment accepted" since then. Shouldn't they have shipped it by now?

^Ha, he has a point though, it's quite weird, not sure which one is official. I think it is double (but yeah 4x the pixels).

Assault Gunners, since you have access to a JP account. Very nice game, a bit short.

To me, resolution directly correlates to pixel count. Resolution is the number of pixels in a display, so if the number of pixels in the Vita display is four times that of the PSP display, then the resolution is also four times the PSP display. 960x544 is just an easier to to say that there are 522,240 pixels in the Vita display. You're speaking of dimensions, when display resolution doesn't refer to dimensions but rather pixel count.

From their facebook page
Nippon-yasan.com will be close for holiday from 28th December 2013 to 5th January 2014. Emails, Orders will be processed starting 6th January we ask for your patience as it will take time to get everything in order and respond to everyone.
They operate in Japan, and like most Japanese, are on holidays until Jan 6th.

They're a relatively small retailer, so don't expect them to handle your orders on holidays. Not unless all of their employees are workaholics, lol.

So Tearaway is quite charming so far. It's the most creative thing I have seen in videogames in like...ever. However it's a bit too easy, and though fun and endearing, it's still not as brilliant as I would have hoped.

I assume it gets better though.

So I'm well aware of the technical issues with the Jak collection. Thing is, most people say it's Jak II that's the worst, but I'm having the most trouble with the original. The input lag is really bad. To an extent where you're jumping forward and then crashing into the wall because it hadn't registered your jump yet. It's a shame, no idea why that in itself is an issue. The framerate I can live with.
