Anyone under the delusion that it wasn't Activision's doing that Spyro and Crash weren't in the game are... well delusional. Unless I want to be mean about it and say what I'm thinking~
Even if they had agreed to it (which I doubt it got that far) we all know the cost would have been insane. Crash may be worthless to Activision, but he actually has worth to Sony. Especially in a PlayStation All-Stars game. And Activision would have wanted to get that worth out of the deal. Even if he's worthless to them.
And Spyro may be trapped in Skylanders hell, but same deal.
Activision and the entire industry know the value both those IPs hold... to Sony. But without Sony involved, they're worthless. Everyone knows this.
I was more concerned with lack of female characters, lack of ANY JRPG representation... PSone, PS2 and PSP had insane *INSANE* amounts of JRPGs on them. And some of the best ones ever made are on PSone and PS2 (and to a lesser degree PSP). Sure PS3 failed in that front by comparison, but still has a presence.
And it's not like I was expecting Cloud like some delusional people were. But some first party characters? Cecilia? (Wild Arms) Dart? (Legend of Dragoon... so close D:<)
Eh... I could go on forever about how disappointing the game was as a huge PS fan. And I have legitimate complaints, not ones tied behind licensing from 3rd parties who would likely not play ball and even if they did would charge a billion dollars for using some toilet paper.
