Does anyone have any problems trying to download the two avatars that you get with Tearaway? The avatars are on my download list but I can't download them to my PS Vita. It always comes up with an error. It's been like that since the game came out. Any ideas?

I don't believe you can choose to use any non-default avatars on Vita. You'd have to switch it on PS3.

Sony Executive: "Hey guys, I got an idea. Let's make Super Smash Bros. only with a bunch of characters no one remembers except Kratos instead of the iconic Nintendo characters! It will sell millions!"
If you don't know Ratchet and Clank, Parappa, among others... then you fail as a PlayStation fan. Especially R&C, since it's still active.

If you're getting them constantly appearing on the your download manager list as failing... then I don't know how to help you.

Otherwise, you can't download avatars to Vita. Sony need to switch them over to 'account' based items. Like what they did with Online Passes. Granted they didn't retroactively do that. But any future avatars should be done differently at least.

I still don't even see a way to pick our avatar from the internet. Premium or otherwise. You have to use the PS3 to actually use avatars to the fullest, which is dumb.

I finally decided to import Gundam Breaker...and Criminal Girls Invitation. Those'll be good games to fill the video gap until Dragon Ball Z.

Since I'm new to the system I don't have any friends on my list... anyone else here new to Soul Sacrifice and keen to play a bit? I'm only 10/13 so I'd like to go through the Avalon Pacts from the start with a party. Pretty hard to find good people on random rooms for that.

guys even if i agree there should be an option to switch to the analog stick controls, there is no problem in Flower regarding motion controlling it, i mean you are playing it the wrong way. There is no other game in Vita that uses motion control better than Flower. I have never tried the PS3 version untill i finish the Vita version and i can say both motion controls plays perfectly well ,you have to get used to it a little but the intention is that you feel you are flying something im perfectly aware couldnt be achieve with a dpad or analog sticks.

It's not that motion controls don't work. It's that it's too jarring to play it because the screen is constantly moving while you do it. It's not as intuitive as it is on PS3 and PS4.

By far the worst version of the game. Still love it, but it is. And since they added touch controls to Flower, they may as well have went all the way with analog control too. Since the way the touch controls work is basically how analog would work.

Tilting a device that is also the screen you're seeing is just not a good user experience.

PSASBR fan here, time to retaliate.

Ehh not really... it's not a matter of the idea/concept, more like the underwhelming execution of said idea/concept.

I mean, the concept of famous characters duking it out against each other is a *good* concept, as proven by the massive success enjoyed by Nintendo, but when you have to include laughable characters like the drill guy from Bioshock, you know you're doing something wrong.

Also, the forced inclusion Bad/Good Cole as separate characters and the lack of ICO/Wander... man, it seems like even Sony's 1st party studios were not willing to throw their weight behind the game. Like... they hated the game and unwilling to cooperate or something like that.

Hey, character is Big Daddy. Hes the iconic enemy of Bioshock and dont you forget it!

Regarding the lack of characters is IIRC the team behind characters didnt wanna ruin the images of them in the game. Understandably, considering it'd be a bit odd to see such emotionally invested characters like Ico be in a game bout fighting. However, Crash and Spyro not in the game was the dumbest move Sony did whilst making this game. Second move regarding this game was cancelling LoD's Dart and Abe and Journey/Gravity Rush stage DLC.

The worst part is the gameplay itself, the entire mechanics, they tried sooooo hard to not be a smash bros clone that they fucked themselves over in the end because the gameplay itself was hot garbage.

Nothing matters, every hit is just to build your meter, there's no meta game, no strategy...you just mindlessly smack people with whatever to build meter and do your super moves. there was nothing else to do.

The thing is hits matters and strategies do too. If you're a Spike user and use his attacks, traps and summons fast and wisely, you can gain a level 1 super in 10 seconds flat.

"Drill guy"? Really? Big Daddy is the best character in that game TBH. If we're complaining about stupid characters, Fat Princess has that covered for you.

Yes bout BD, unsure bout FP though. Sure, his level 1 suck but makes up for it with level 2 and his beautiful level 3.

The game is the worst. The ONLY way to score a kill was by using supers, there's no risk or reward involved, no metagame involved with scoring hits, having any sort of dedicated combo system or having any reason to not spam the same thing over and over again to build meter. You can smack around your opponent for hours on end without any progress since the only progress is made through killing with supers.

What's the point of combat than? why not just have everyone with full meter bars running around? it would probably be a lot more fun than tediously jumping around smashing buttons.

The point is if you want to get a kill or KO somebody, you're gonna have to earn it. Use your combo, avoid getting hit, plan which super you should use. Build it up and knock them down! I personally love that notion.

Out of curiosity, which character do you guys usually play in PSASBR?

I play Kat and she's so fun to play as. :D

She also has a guaranteed level 1 super so that's really nice.

Always BD and occasionally switch up to Emmet.

you dont have to tilt the device so much that you cannot see what you are doing. i have played both version,I always saw where i was going in the game on Vita, so for me was the better experience. i like Vita version a little more becouse it feels more real to me, Motion controls are more than ok in this game.

Anyone under the delusion that it wasn't Activision's doing that Spyro and Crash weren't in the game are... well delusional. Unless I want to be mean about it and say what I'm thinking~ :P

Even if they had agreed to it (which I doubt it got that far) we all know the cost would have been insane. Crash may be worthless to Activision, but he actually has worth to Sony. Especially in a PlayStation All-Stars game. And Activision would have wanted to get that worth out of the deal. Even if he's worthless to them.

And Spyro may be trapped in Skylanders hell, but same deal.

Activision and the entire industry know the value both those IPs hold... to Sony. But without Sony involved, they're worthless. Everyone knows this.

I was more concerned with lack of female characters, lack of ANY JRPG representation... PSone, PS2 and PSP had insane *INSANE* amounts of JRPGs on them. And some of the best ones ever made are on PSone and PS2 (and to a lesser degree PSP). Sure PS3 failed in that front by comparison, but still has a presence.

And it's not like I was expecting Cloud like some delusional people were. But some first party characters? Cecilia? (Wild Arms) Dart? (Legend of Dragoon... so close D:<)

Eh... I could go on forever about how disappointing the game was as a huge PS fan. And I have legitimate complaints, not ones tied behind licensing from 3rd parties who would likely not play ball and even if they did would charge a billion dollars for using some toilet paper.

Maybe you need a JRPG smash brothers game, remember that Nintendo only included a few of JRPG characters such as the guy from Mother and the guy from Fire Emblem in the different installments.
The playstation smash brothers was much better than i expected but with some dissapointing details like the crash and spiro issue. The rest of the game is a very fun thing with big potential but lacks to deliver enough fan service to the fans. As a smash brothers clone is the best one i have ever played. Not at a smash brothers level though.IF they are smart enough they could create a second game but fixing all the problems and adding a big amount of characters as well as new mechanics to make the game a more diverse one.

This makes absolutely no sense.
wich part? becouse i have played and enjoy the game enough to say this.

Hey guys, quick question: If I have two Vita memory cards, can I format them with different PSN/SEN usernames? If so, would I just have to switch memory card 1 to memory card 2 and it wouldn't automatically notice the account switch, or would I have to go into the Vita hardware settings and switch accounts? Or would none of this work?

Thanks!

Each time you switch cards the Vita will need to format itself (not the card), but other than that it works fine.

Understandable and agreed, if only Sony ok'd Abe and Dart :C The lack of JRPG characters was an ever bigger sting. Disgaea, Persona, Yakuza, Folklore and more JRPG related games thats been sticking mostly with PS had none of their characters in PSASBR. NIS were even ok with their characters being in the game, based on this.

And yeah, I get the complaints. Some folks just dont take well to a fighting game where health wasnt part of it. That and the supers and other stuff but personally, with the focus on more of risk/reward like SuperBot said, not much to dislike. My only complaints are the matchmaking. For some reason, i always get the error 0314 but when I do connect, it makes my heart pump when Im fighting with BD.

The colors on the Vita version are probably purposely more washed out to compensate for the OLED. Hopefully they have a Vita 2000 color settings option like in GE2, my copy is getting here tomorrow.

I've never been a fan of R&C. Sorry I'm such a disappointing PlayStation fan, please don't send me to PlayStation Jail.

Hmmmmm.

Now that I have seen this post, it reminds me to the fact that... hmmm... I too was never that big on Sony's franchises...

God of War... Gran Turismo... Ratchet and Clank... ICO... Shadow of the Colossus.....

Hmmm. The only things that really wowed me from Sony's offerings that I can honestly remember right now are Uncharted 2 and Last of Us... hmm.

In case anyone missed it, here is FF X HD VITA TV vs PS3 comparison video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9TICro5B-I&feature=youtu.be

As expected VITA has low-res textures and lower resolution but i doubt it would make any difference on dat glorious OLED :D

im SO gonna buy this when comes to NA. Im waiting for a limited edition version for Vita. Differences are minimal though and will be the best Vita port ever come out surpassing MGS, IMO

Here's my dilemma:

I have a Vita and a PS4, but the usernames are different from each (long story). So I have PS4 games purchased and played under Account 1 and Vita games purchased and played under account 2.

Unfortunately this means I can't (easily) use Remote Play with the Vita, since the accounts need to match. So I'm wondering if having 2 memory cards would make the switching process easier, or at least make it so I wouldn't risk losing my Vita saves? I haven't actually tried to do any of this yet.

If only they included an option to skip the cut scenes, an option use the original OST and did not mess up Yuna's and Tidus' faces I would have agreed with you.

You can do this, but you'll have to unlink and reinitialise the Vita every time, meaning you have to re-set it up like it's a brand new device every time you switch accounts.

Probably would have waited until it's cheap anyway as I'm not huge on remakes of games I already own, but I'm not getting this for the OST and because the changes made to FF X-2 so they can shoehorn in X-3. If SquareEnix want to try and milk things as dry as possible, they can count me out.

why you would ever want to skip the cutscenes ? they are beautiful, and IMO Tidus face was already ugly , and personally i like better the new faces, as for the soundtrack , it will be the same with some arranges , so an option to change the entire OST of a game that is more than 3g is nonsense for me. Maybe a dlc to change it would be doable.

Man, I just can't wait for FFX-X-2HD. I *loved* these games during my PS2 days...
except for that fucking bloody idiot Chocobo Race urgggggggh
. I even 100%-ed FFX-2.

Also, I am just gonna pretend I didn't read that FFX novel thread thingie.

Speed runs and stuff. I'm gonna watch it the first time but not on the subsequent playthroughs.

Tidus may be ugly on the OG game but he is uglier on the HD remake. He looks like he hasn't slept in a long time and does drugs.

On the Vita, I can understand it due to certain limitations in the cartridge sizes but on the PS3? No.

It's a step back for me and I think they should have done the KH 1.5 HD style of remaster.

So is there any point in switching memory cards? If you unlink and reinitialize the Vita, do you lose your saves?

Small shield wouldn't block as much, so you need to costantly recast it. After his hp down to half (maybe) he started stand up on two leg and throwing a bunch of wind blade right? Which is very hurt. Not even big shield could take the hit from that wind blade more than two hit, so at that point you should keep avoiding it. After two or three set of throws, he began quick charge which like you said, he recovered quickly when blocked. Although the time frame is sort, you should used that time to hit him as hard as you can, best by ranged attack like throwing or explosive offering since the animation frame isn't that long to prepare. Avoid, block, attack, rinse and repeat. When his HP went down further, he began to use homing attack from his spear that deal a ton of damage. If you see him draw his spear, best started running as far as you can. You don't really need you allies to finish him off, so if they die, don't bother saving or sacrifice them unless the Cerberus is far or aggroed by Magusar.

Oh, his weakness is Stone by the way. You can petrify him rather quickly with stone element weapon.
Thanks dude. Helpful tips and I finally beat him. Though the first boss in chapter 5 looks to be even harder lol. I only tried once and died fairly quickly and Magusar of course literally died within 30 seconds. I mean seriously ugh I hate the allies so much they piss me off I have to hear them crying and repeating the same thing over and over while downed the entire battle which can usually be up to 30 minutes long.

I'm kind of getting burnt out on the game. Might take a break for a few days. I've been having bad luck after having very good luck the first few days playing online. Bad luck in the sense that I'm getting really shitty teams. People dropping ourt, hosts kicking for no reason, people just standing still during battle.

I'm at 20/20 right now. I have a bit of trouble with 5 star rated levels. I can't imagine what 10 stars are like. Anything less I beat no problem. Not sure if my level is too low or my strategy is not good. I'm not too skilled at these types of games so may be a bit of both.

So is there any point in switching memory cards? If you unlink and reinitialize the Vita, do you lose your saves?

No, your vita saves should be fine. it takes a couple of minutes to reset, plus you have to set up your wifi again. So it's more about being a pain I the ass if you have to do it regularly

When I got my vita (birthday present from Japanese parents-in-law at launch, yay), I decided at that point to switch my US PSN account to a UK one. Reset my trophies etc but much more convenient for vita. Plus I can still have my US PSN account on my PS3 to download any US games I had , and play them on my UK account, so no real loss.

I kinda hate you all for not liking PSASBR more. Imagine the fun we could be having even just playing 2v2 against bots!

Sony Smash Bros yo :'(

Will be the next game I push on my friends if Luftrausers takes its time. Should probably give them more time with Spelunky first.

Playstation Battle Royale was the shit when it came out. Everyone from my friends list was playing it and the online was pretty good, and you find good players often experimenting with all characters. I stoped playing when they release Zeus and support was dropped, They should at least release the balancing patch that they promised.

just saw this video and it really shows Vita version of NFSMW is a really nice done version is an excellent comparison showing Ps3 vs Vita. So for those asking if it is worthy of your purchase answer your question with this video. The game is a great racing game i highly recommended and on the Vita Oled looks really nice even with its low res graphics and lower quality shadows and crashes.

Sony Executive: "Hey guys, I got an idea. Let's make Super Smash Bros. only with a bunch of characters no one remembers except Kratos instead of the iconic Nintendo characters! It will sell millions!"

You forgot using characters for the sake of publicizing sequels PS fans don't care. I liked Bioshock, so that didn't hurt me that much even if it makes no sense (it even was a 360 time exclusive). But Dead Space? DmC? That's not the Dante the game should have. IMO that game should have had characters to appeal to hardcore Sony fans first (throw that Legends of Dragon guy, some FF character (no Lightning), Parappa the Rapper, some ICO/SotC character...)

Yep, Activision has a good track record of being a dick. They may ask too much for Crash (whose value right now is near 0). And if they asked too much for a dormant
(I won't say dead cause I don't want to hurt people xD)
IP, I can't even imagine what would ask for Skylanders main character.

I can't help but think this novel is mistranslated. I mean, what the hell? It would be hard to find a fan fic that throws at you more shit and is makes less sense than this. There is already
NTR, sex rituals, Tidus death, Sin's arrival, characters that anybody cares and I think I'm missing something
. I loved this game (X-2 no so much) even if it wasn't perfect, but please... if they want to release a FFX sequel, be more Crisis Core than Advent Children / Dirge of Cerberus...

Did you guys say indies?

Fantastic game. One of the best GAMES I've played in my life, regardless of being indie or whatever (games are games). It's for titles like this that I bought the Vita.

Now, to platinum Tearaway.

Congrats!

I only have two left (get the the car 60 times, and A+ every level). I've need to A+ around 6 more stages. Easier said than done.

Person who added me with the xx___ PSN ID, All-Stars won't let me send you an invite. You don't show up on my potential invite list.

I'm still missing one trophy. It's "This Is Living", which requires me to play an online match without dying.

I need to get some online trophies for the game too, I'll add you.

Do you guys use the auto targeting with square or the touch screen to lock onto dudes in Hotline Miami?

I'm having a really hard time adjusting, KB/M feels way better to me so far.

Just finished it. I cried out in joy. But no, I apparently just suck at being "bold" and getting scores.

Oh, the one where the police invades the drug dealer's house, right? Pretty good level.

There's a puzzle piece going up on this level that's a bitch to get while combo-ing.

Do you guys use the auto targeting with square or the touch screen to lock onto dudes in Hotline Miami?

I'm having a really hard time adjusting, KB/M feels way better to me so far.

I've only discovered that the game has an auto-target some minutes after getting the platinum. I don't think it's a game that needs it.

Takao, I see you got a platinum on PSA 6 hours ago. Meh, I'm still gonna add you anyways! Whoever still wants to help out with the trophies, the offer still applies. My vita PSN ID is ShivaRpgN :)

Megapixels is just another way to describe the amount of pixels in an easier way. It just happens to be used for digital imaging, whereas resolution is used for displays. When a person says a game runs in 1080p, they aren't saying that to tell you the game is 16:9 aspect ratio. They're saying that to tell you that the game renders a lot of pixels (2,073,600 specifically).
It's exactly opposite, 1080p is a convention used to tell you that it's 16:9 and that the short side has 1080 pixels.
Megapixel instead is a convention that tells you the number of pixel in an area without telling resolution and proportions.

As i said in the other thread i saw the video on vita and the only noticeable differrences are the ground texture and the darker colors of the ps3 version, all the rest is equal.

You clearly don't know the roster of this game.

I'm having a really hard time adjusting, KB/M feels way better to me so far.

Depends, when being pursued it can help to backpedal and hit square quick, especially in the first part of Showdown (still not beaten the boss there...)

I found it tricky at first but now it feels much better than KB/M to me.
