Depends, when being pursued it can help to backpedal and hit square quick, especially in the first part of Showdown (still not beaten the boss there...)

I found it tricky at first but now it feels much better than KB/M to me.

I mostly used touch screen targeting on Vita and it's the main reason it's the platform I prefer it on. The precision to be able to pick the exact enemy I want quickly before it gets frantic was nice -- I had a lot of problems with lock on using a controller on PC.

Not Modnation -- just get Sonic Transformed from PS+ and you'll be better off from everything I hear. Ridge Racer should only be gotten if you don't mind paying the money for the DLC to expand the game, I think.

The other 3 should be solid for $5. Lumines is a steal at that price.

Okay, GAFVita bros and bro-ettes. I love Gravity Rush, I really do. Kat is a charming character, the world is very interesting and unique, the graphics are excellent (in spite of not being native rez), and the story is engaging. Yet I find it completely and utterly frustrating. Like, I feel the internal gauge rise in me like no other game can do. It's really been putting me off on the game.

My level of frustration is mainly coming from the 3D space that is so tied into the mechanics. It's the same reason that kept me from loving Descent back in the day. I just don't know how to handle this, either. I either get completely lost and disoriented, I clip some random street lamp or fence that stops me dead in my tracks, or I try to Gravity Kick an enemy and blow right past them.

Am I simply screwed on these counts or is there some pointers that can be bestowed upon my 3D disoriented self?

quick question:

if i buy Flower from Amazon digital store front... will it still be crossbuy for ps4 and ps3?

what helps a lot is pressing i think it's down ( or up) on the Dpad when your flying... it recenters the camera and helps you get your bearings.

Remember L reorients the camera. User it frequently. Use motion control to aim in addition to the analog stick. Both of them together work very well. And user your other forms of attack. Upgrade your normal kicks and throw abilities. Mix up the combat. It's more rewarding and easier to follow that way.

It should be.
You're basically buying a voucher for Flower on whatever platform -- so redeeming it would be the same as if you purchased it through the storefront on that same platform.
If it's not, it's ridiculous... and not my fault. :P

Can anybody tell me how I can get to my download history from Vita. I've done it in the past but I can never remember where it lives.
Go to PS Store and touch a little black bubble (options) in the lower right corner. There will be an option to go to your Download List

Thanks for that. I'm too used to the PS3, where it sits under PSN account management, even though I having it connected to the store makes more sense, that I have a complete brainfart whenever I look for it.

Man, I just can't wait for FFX-X-2HD. I *loved* these games during my PS2 days...
except for that fucking bloody idiot Chocobo Race urgggggggh
. I even 100%-ed FFX-2.

Also, I am just gonna pretend I didn't read that FFX novel thread thingie.
I can't believe you managed to 100% X-2. That game is utter bullshit when it comes to that.

That X novel is fucking batshit insane
Proud to say Tearaway was my first completed Vita game. Really took me back how it constantly pit a smile on my face and probably the cutest ending I've ever witnessed.

Been plowing through the spelunky demo and I'm really hooked. Wanna get the full game but I'm scared it will go on sale soon and I'm already picking up some retail titles to kill my rpg cravings. Something tells me my will won't hold though.
First game I beat was Gravity Rush

You jut missed the sale where it was $3.75 by like 2 or 3 weeks D:

Arg as a new Vita owner looking at the previously free PSN + game list makes me cry. I missed out on so much!
What have you missed that you've wanted? I've gotten every Vita PS+ game in NA.
What region are you?

A norwegian retailer is selling Resistance: Burning Skies, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance, Lumines: Electronic Symphony, Ridge Racer, ModNation Racers: Road Trip for ~5£ each, any of them worth grabbing?

Thanks everyone, grabbed Lumines, Resistance & Dungeon Hunter
You picked up everything I would of so I think you did good. Not too sure if I would have picked up Resistance but you got it at a good price.

Got FFX/X-2 HD in this morning, was pleasantly surprised that it came in two separate standard blue Vita cases within the box.

Played for a bit and all I could think about while running down the highway in the intro sequence of X is how badly I want a Xenosaga HD remake on the Vita. The main character models look pretty decent in the HD upgrade but man the NPCs did not age well.

Finished Tearaway. I kept thinking the game was going to end during the last hour or so, but it just kept on going. I can't complain though - Tearaway is now my favorite platformer and the most creative game I've ever played.

ps mobile games are not on the web store
can't be searched for on the vita
and thus are just hidden in their own very poorly made section :P

Thanks.

If anyone else is looking for it, it is in the Puzzle section of the Playstation Mobile section of PSN on the Vita.

Yeah. It was a pain to get for me too due to the things you have to do that are so dumb like whistling when a scene comes up. I specifically had to look up a FAQ just to have 100% and it took me 3 tries too. 1st two without a FAQ and the 3rd one with it. You have to watch everything too so it's really a pain to go through it multiple times. I had fun with the Cloisters stuff though.

I remember trying to get 100% on it without a guide. I was foolish for thinking that could even be done.

Lemmings PSM is only free for a certain amount of levels.

Vita is getting its own native Lemmings game soon enough so I wouldn't sink any money into the PSM one.

Hey, the first few levels of KZ:SF were fun :P
Well, I will have to agree with you, but I am not sure if it was the new console smell affecting my judgement or not. But you win this round!

Oh snap, thank you for that. I may still waste a little time on it though, as lemmings has been a part of my life since dang near it's creation! Never been TOO in love with it, but I certainly enjoy it. Especially if I get some free levels.

Also, not sure if new/old, but I just saw this deal on slickdeals.net -

•Hot Shots Golf World Invitational Game $9 Link
•Wipeout 2048 $9 Link
•MLB 12: The Show $6 Link

I haven't bought anything from eBay in 10+ years, so I do not know how solid these things are, but SD.net is a fairly reputable site. Doubt they'd steer people wrong!!

Did you try MP at all? I didn't try at all before I lent it to my friend.

I saw this earlier, tempted on Hot Shots...

I did do some MP, but it just felt lacking to me. With my limited time in MP, I did get a sweet quintuple kill that got recorded, which was awesome. But it just didn't wow me like I thought the MP would. I got BF4 at the urging of a friend, and despite it's flaws I am having more fun with that... *shields at maximum*

I'd say pull that proverbial trigger on Hot Shots. I got it at launch, and I still go back to it every now and then. It's a great game to relax with, and there is a good amount of skill needed for those ultimately low scores. I played the forst HSG game on PSP all the way through from it's launch to me getting HSG for Vita, it defintiely has staying power. Especially now with cross play with the PS3 version. I've never been able to devote the time to PS2/3 HSGs, but the Vita/PSP are perfect homes for them I feel, with the sleep modes and all. I've already had a few epic shots in HSG for Vita, one of them being my best HOI EVER. It bounced RIGHT in to the cup, on one of the hardest par 3's in the game I feel.

YouTube "Bouncing Hole In One Hot Shots World Invitational", my username on YT is the same as here. When I get home from work, I'll send a direct link to it if you care to see the awesomeness :D Or I'll try to update this on my commute home.

soooo sweeeet.

I HATH RETURNED, MY VITA BRETHREN

Tell me more... such an underrated franchise, it's a shame Worms has been pimped to hell whilst this has seemingly died off.

Also, why are certain games limited in brightness on the Vita? Games like Hotline Miami are always stuck at 75%.

I think I've encountered a game breaking bug in Tearway. I'm right near the end of the game so spoilers:
I'm in the desert, jumped off of the caravan and I keep dying mid-jump even though I don't hit anything, then I repeatedly spawn and die in the same spot.

Really frustrating. I didn't have this problem before and I turned the game off thinking it checkpointed sooner than that. I fucking hate checkpoint systems.

I'm sure others have reported this problem as well, and it was fixed by manually restarting the last check point.

I hit that as well. Try the manual reloading first, if not what worked for me was to run through the previous level again and go straight into the next without stopping for a break.

I can't believe how good Muramasa looks. Dat art! Dem colors! This game and the oled are a match made in heaven.

I'm thinking this'll be the next game I sink my teeth into. Almost done with my plat for The Last of Us and then it is back to Vita'ing.

To save battery? >_> one of the stupidest things on Vita OS in my opinion

Man remote play is killing my desire to play any of my Vita games. Just got a 16gb card upgraded from my original 4gb, so I've got more games then I know what to do with. But I can't get motivated to play anything except PS4.

I think Gravity Rush has a very particular learning curve to its mechanics. I liken it to the swinging in Spider-Man 2. At the start of the game, the swing mechanic can be a little strange and awkward. After spending quite a bit of time with it, however, you can master it. I was a QA Tester for Spider-Man 2, and at the end of the project, the whole team were fucking web-slinging beasts.

With Gravity Rush, I found it very daunting at first, as it's a pretty unorthodox traversal method. At least, the way flight is implemented in GR. Eventually, though, I got the hand of it, and I learned how to control Kat with a precision that, even a few hours into the game, I didn't think was possible. Combat became a blast, and I actively looked forward to the next encounter, because I felt in control.

Utilizing the down button on the D-Pad is also a vital travel/combat action that should become second nature over time. It really does help you get your bearings. It's been a while since I played GR, but I wish the Vita had a video streaming/recording option like the PS4, because I'd love to be able to record some videos of playing GR.

It did take me until quite a ways into the game before I really became comfortable with the controls/combat. Fortunately, everything else about GR was so charming and enjoyable, that it made it easier to get to that point.

What have you been playing via Remote Play? I tried AC4 a few times, but the back-touch L2/R2/L3/R3 has been bugging me. I really wish we had a grip that would add these.

The only chance of this happening is the PS4 taking off in Japan. I don't expect any announcement of something like this till PS4 releases in Japan.
