I guess I should have expected this in a thread for game collectors who dont play games.
Cant wait to see what the #1 collected game was!
Now this makes me quite happy. My love for Sonic aside as a franchise, this is simply just one of the best multiplayer games out there with easy accessibility, full of hidden depth and improvement for increase in skills, a giant love letter to past classic games, and just full of happiness and charm across what I consider the best kart racing game out there.
If you haven't played it before, I do highly recommend it and join us sometime racing online, tis fun in the crazy arcade type of way.

This was perhaps my surprise hit of the year (although I don't think I voted for it in the end!) - unexpectedly great, shiny, joyous fun.
Best Rougelike of the year.
Seems right, so much good word of mouth on this one.
Aww yeah! Now we're getting somewhere. Still hoping my Steam GOTY placed 3rd or higher...
It's not about the tag, it's that it should never be a GOTY.
EDIT: I am going to have a meltdown if Spelunky gets #1.

Great game, I'm playing it on the Vita and the controls are great. Super fun even if you play against strangers in the multi.
Speedrunners is pretty fun, i have to admit.
But i don't think it's #1.

I forgot to vote for SS2 and I'm one of its biggest champions.
Well done SteamGAF, SR4 is extremely fun, especially in coop. The superpowers greatly minimize the more dreary aspects of open world games.
Also, I'm still amazed that Sonic Transformed is actually as good as its hype.
