There are other games other than MK8 that would justify the system's purchase. Don't know what your tastes are, but Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, 3D World, Nintendoland, Wind Waker HD, Rayman, and ZombiU are good reasons to get one sooner =) The 3rd party games are finally good too. AC4 is pretty great on the WiiU, as an example, but I guess it'll remain to be seen what happens in the future with 3rd party support since there's new-fangled vidya game boxes with fancy internal doodads and whatchamacallits

Oh I know, I will probably buy 3D World and Wind Waker later but I can really wait for these games, there are no games that make me want a Wii U right now. So, I'm still waiting. Who knows ? Maybe there will be a price cut. (Or at least a Mario Kart Bundle). I wouldn't have waited if it had a new Zelda or a new Smash Bros. But Mario Kart is the first of the three to come out so it's gonna be MK8.

Yeah, I'll likely be on the 3DS game more as I hardly use the TV and console games and the idea of portable Smash sells me one hundred times over.
Zelda was one of the not-so-good characters, like Bowser. So I figure he's just trying to fix her up by giving her a new move.
And Ashley is all good with her wicked cuteness and magick, but Jimmy T has disco and cats. I think that says enough to make the choice between the two clear.

I'm not hyped for Project M because it still plays kinda weird imo and I don't think anyone really takes it seriously, it's just a fun thing on the side. <3 PM
Melee, on the other hand... we usually get the best Melee tournament of the year at Apex. Attending Apex 2012 was a fucking incredible experience, and possibly the most fun weekend of my life.
It certainly would be interesting to see Mario and Luigi in Smash Bros.

As the biggest ashley supporter in smashgaf I will have to disagree.
I just watched the Project M trailer for the first time and I'm very impressed. Of course it calls for a level of skill that I will never achieve, but I look forward to consuming the youtube videos that come out of tournaments. I think Nintendo deserves props for not C&Ding it.
They don't really have much ground to stand on for a C&D since they're not distributing anything outright illegal and it encourages sales of their own game, so why not. It's one of those rare situations where they'd have more to lose from taking legal action.
And as a SSB mod it doesn't really take any additional skill to play. My friends and I tend to prefer using it just for the revamped physics moreso than anything. We're hardly competitive.
I hate hate jumping through hoops to get things working and don't want to bother modding my Wii (I don't even hook up controllers to my PC), otherwise I'd definitely give it a try.
