Yup. You still get some garbage ass NXT shows for sure. When NXT is good, it's great, but people have got carried away with this "it's like a WWE produced indie show!!!" stuff, because there are a fair few dud episodes that can't match up to what the top indies are producing on a monthly basis.
Yeah, I'm sure there's a large segment of the WWE Universe that are still on dial-up at the county library.
Opinions and what not, NXT is great in it's basic storytelling, with the added bonus of having great wrestling matches that actually make sense as far as psychology goes, you can easily see the benefit these guys get from working under guys like Dusty and Regal.
Sure, it's sometimes hit and miss with some guys not working or angles/characters not being great and some of those guys are very green, but that's no different in the indies.
"STOP FEEDING THE MACHINE MAAAAAAN" comments are things that I NEVER take seriously. :lol :lol
Once again, Raw is still going to air on USA.
Hogan claims he was going to replace Cliff Burton in Metallica after his death.
Oh I did not know this. That means PG for life. Got it.
For me, I can do with minimal storytelling as far as feuds and whatnot. I care about the in ring action the most.
Also Linda's (failing) political career.Actually, Raw will be on USA til September and then it'll go to the next highest bidder (unless that's USA of course).
It will remain PG because their advertising revenues went from 7 to 20 million since they went PG.

I really don't see why people are laughing at the comment. It isn't like he is wrong lol.
This I can understand.
This I don't. Weaker than ever? Cmon now. Opinions and all that but wrestling is better now that it has ever been.
Personally I enjoy a well done match, but the story and production is what I really love. I got more enjoyment out of Y2J coming out a few years back in that jacket and refusing to even talk then I did from all but the best matches.
I think most fans these days are in the same boat. That attitude era isn't looked back on fondly because of matches for the most part, it was the stuff surrounding them.
Anyone know totals for PPVs for the year? Money wise?
I million Network subscribers would equal 120 millions bones.

I never noticed - UNTIL THIS VERY SECOND - that Hogan is in the background playing what appears to be a bass.
They don't make that much on that anymore. Not since they gave them tour buses and airfare to top stars in leu.I wonder how this will affect wrestler ppv bonuses. Usually those are based off gate and ppv buys. This could potentially fuck over a large source of their income.

That and word going around backstage lf Vince using all these old stars to fill up the card. Some Mania bonuses were as much as their annual pay for some of the lower end guys. This can't be good for them.

Nakamura's entrance made him basically look like the biggest star in the world. Amazing stuff.Everyone who likes the excitement of a big spectacle in their wrestling should check out New Japan - they're the only company in the world that can come close to matching WWE in terms of production;

Granted, the storyline side of it is fairly simplistic, this guy wants that guys belt, this guy beat up that guy so that guy wants revenge, etc, but as far as in-ring, physical storytelling goes? They can't be beat. So, yeah, if you want some of the grandiose, over the top nature of the Attitude Era, mixed with the sort of in-ring storytelling you'd find in WWF of yesteryear and the best action today's world of wrestling has to offer, give New Japan a go.
Mediocre for 7 years and roh go together well
$80m/year range.

WWE Network will also cannibalize their DVD/Bluray revenue(included in consumer products, but that also includes royalties from merch, video games, and whatnot) although that is peanuts in the grand scheme of things. Their bread and butter is PPV revenue, TV rights fees, and ticket sales.
Or if 10 million people subscribe: WrestleMania bonuses every month!
Seriously though I think the talent would prefer a stable bigger paycheque which this will provide if successful. You know assuming talent still gets a similar cut of this revenue stream.
I'm right in thinking I can watch RAW and Smackdown a day or so after TV broadcast right? If so, I'm definitely subscribing to this. I haven't spent a penny on wrestling in a good while, but this will definitely get me back on board.
I hope for their sake there are many times more people like me who are going to jump on, than there are people who were already buying all the PPVs.

You make it sound like wrestling is a niche product.
also, lol @ "only 40 million". Do you work for Square Enix or something? 40 million isn't just something you shrug off.

Wow.
Around 1 million people buy Wrestlemania every year for $60. They will get at least that much.Lol Netflix only has 40 million subscribers with a lower monthly price and abfar greater reach into the mainstream. They will be incredibly lucky if they can get 1 million subscribers.
And plenty of people don't buy Wrestlemania because it's $70, or they pool together funds with their friends and buy one between them for a WM viewing party (or one in a sports bar). $10 is an attractive price, plenty of people would feel happy paying that instead of pirating it or something.
