Dark Souls II "Curse" Trailer

Still incredibly excited for the game but none of the trailers are really exciting me in the way Demon's Souls and Dark Souls were able to.

It looks like more than a few monsters will have insane reach for their attacks.

How am I supposed to sleep when I'm so excited?

It even has creepy spiders!

Blur did that VGA reveal trailer, but I don't think they've done anything for Fromsoft before that. Fromsoftware normally do their own cg movies.
If so, then that's insane. The Armored Core V trailer I linked before is the best piece of CG I've ever seen.

No Quelaag, no M.

DeS was M as well.

Considering it has the same content descriptors as DS, I'm curious to see how the ESRB rationalized the new rating, but I guess we'll have to wait until they add DS2 to the list on their website.

I think the spider sisters was pretty much the reason why Dark Souls got an M.

Still surreal to see a T rating.

But then why was Demon's Souls M? I can't recall anything that M-worthy in that game, but the series is so dark that a T rating just looks odd.

Blood and Gore
Partial Nudity
Mild Language
Violence

and it still got a T rating? Weird since in Europe it is a PEGI 16 game.

Hmm, the game looked ridiculously good in previous footage, I hope the console ports aren't super gimped in comparison to that :(

Release date for Reaper of Souls couldn't be any worse. Want to play both games, but the hell I'm going to rush through DS2 just to shelve it after only two weeks.

As a huge Dark Souls and Demon's Souls fan, I am not impressed by anything I've seen of this game so far. I think the CG trailers are neat, though, but From didn't even do them... I'm really worried that this game is going to be the bastard in the series. Actually, that's not entirely true... the cloth physics are pretty swell.

There's something about this game's art that doesn't sit entirely well with me, compared to it's predecessors. They also seem to have gone a bit overboard with the visual effects. I'm still buying the shit out of it, though.

I guess that's one advantage to waiting for the delayed PC version.

That's actually more problematic than anything AFAIK. They said that they were still saying "March" for PC, just not giving an exact date like the consoles, so it could be the 11th or 30th. That doesn't actually help my dilemma.

I'd chalk it up to (happenstance) changes in the amount of body horror and sexual overtones. The general creepiness and unsettling atmosphere is the same if not stronger, and if I recall correctly the game actually has more blood in it than either of the previous two.

T rating? About damn time, I always thought it was ridiculous how Demon's Souls and Dark Souls got stuck with an M rating while the games like the Uncharted series or the Batman Arkham games received a T.

The environments seem fucking bland so far but we've only seen like two or three of them. I presume they're just holding back so that we have a more fresh experience while playing.
There's nothing inherently wrong with having just a forest and a castle as introductory stages.

Omg, he jumps into the sea just like when you jump through the nexus to fight the Old One... You kill the Old One near the seaside at the end of Demon's Souls!!

DEMON'S SOULS 2 CONFIRMED.

There was an awful lot to like in that trailer, although it was certainly a trailer for existing fans more than non-Souls fans.

Also, props to From for not giving too many wide angle, show everything shots of the environment or the enemies. A lot to be said for leaving something to the imagination for the audience.

On the same page. Monster designs look pretty bland or just plain uninspired. I'm hoping From Software's A-team is on Miyazaki's other project.

TBF I think it seems like we've seen all these environments before some of which are quite striking similar.

That and what they've revealed of the story is a tread of themes without any interesting additions yet.

You could properly make this trailer with scenes of PC dark souls and the differences wouldn't be too large (and the story would largely be accurate).

I actually thought it looked pretty good. I don't really know what people are expecting from a PS3/360 these days.

Souls fans, please tell me that there will be legendary boss fights like the previous souls games. I expect an Ornstein kinda quality boss fight in dark souls 2.

2 more months.
