The game was tied and deep in extra time Ghana was awarded a freekick near the Uruguay box. This would be the last chance of the game and if they scored they'd go through to the semi finals. After a goal line scramble the ball was headed in again to be saved by Luis Suarez. However, he did it with his hands and the ref gave him a straight red for denying the goal. Ghana of course was rewarded a penalty but Asamoah Gyan hit the bar. The match went to a penalty shoot out which Ghana then lost and Uruguay went through to the semi finals.

The best part is Suarez celebrating the miss when walking off the pitch.

I feel like that was Suarez announcing to the world that he was awesome, and that people should take notice.

Also note, Jorge Fucile tried to hit it away with his hands as well - but he missed.

Minor league baseball can provide some rather entertaining moments.

Well, I guess you got me. I do have to say though, NFL flops (besides some of those kickers) are much more subtle and seem to be more like an exaggeration whereas some of the soccer GIFs players hit themselves with an opponents appendage or appear as they were smacked by the invisible hand of god.

LSU has the ball 2nd and Goal with no timeouts and 30 seconds left. They call a QB run which gets stopped at the 1 yard line, hurry back up to the line, but waste probably 15 seconds making substitutions, snap the ball past the quarterback down the field, Tennessee recovers it and time runs out with Tennessee players celebrating on the field.

Only it turns out Tennessee had 13 men on the field, so they got a penalty and LSU got the ball for an untimed down in which they ran a toss play in for a touchdown, winning the game, and leaving Tennessee players heartbroken and crying in the endzone after the game.

I watched this live and have never seen another game where everybody thought it was over (no time left on the clock), one team celebrated, it turned out it wasn't over, and then that team left in tears.

Hell I'm a Jets fan and this is probably one of the best plays ever in history. It's so good, that ESPN had to retire it on their Not Top 10 because it was deemed unbeatable. There have been some good ones in recent memory, like the 2 Gator players blocking each other. It has to probably go down as the greatest (bad) play ever.

That has so much potential for a head paste GIF where one party runs past while another party gets in the way of itself.
