I realized what was bothering me about this update - we got confirmation of Ashley as an AT before we even got confirmation of Wario as a character!
On the old Brawl Dojo, something similar happened with Samurai Goroh being confirmed long before Capt. Falcon was. Maybe Wario's being changed into a secret character in Smash 4?

From kicki'n banjo music, to crotch-choppin, to just bein' really dirty and mean-spirited; Strikers Charged had the best depiction of Waluigi. He was more nasty and petty than Wario whereas before he was just his lanky clone.

What the hell is with some of you? Sakurai just reveals whatever he feels like. There is no rhyme or reason to what he does beyond him feeling like making character reveals relavant to the time period.
On the other hand, Strikers Charged had the worst representation of Shy Guy.

Besides, I don't think that's a too far-off assumption to make either.
Rosalina kind of stole her thunder, I think. There was probably a really interesting moveset you could make involving her teaming up with and using Red in her attacks, but Rosalina and Luma is basically the same thing in a more popular form.
Not to say you could come up with another for her, but I'm not creative enough to think of anything that isn't just derivative of someone else.

Not quite that far-fetched a theory when you consider he was one in Mario Kart 7 (Yeah, Sakurai had nothing to do with that, but still). Something tells me he'll be shown when MK8 comes out, though.

It'll never happen, but I'd love a T-rated Wario title where Waluigi opens up a rival business across the street from WarioWare where he specializes in sports games, party games, karting, etc. and the game is a hilariously stupid business war between WarioWare and Waluigi Incorporated or something like that.
The T rating would be more of a Melee sort of T, not super sexy swearing Wario reboot.

Wario wins in the end because his use of topical gimmicks like Shake-It! and the short and sweet minigames compared to longer games are much easier for the Mario universe's stupid residents.
