PS4 is supply constrained. January should be interesting where both should be able to meet demand. So demand is higher for X1 in the US?

Apparently this is a console war thread. Get with the program, dawg. What for?
lol Is that what this thread is about?
I've dealt with enough twits today, thank you very much! Can we unban TommyManberg aka The One and Done just for this thread?
People called me crazy for my prediction. Heheheheh
Microsoft at $500 is selling better in the US than the more powerful, cheaper PS4.
Dat ecosystem, dat US appeal.
This is true. Why can't people understand this? I did not see Xbones sold out at any store I went to this past holiday season, I saw PS4s for the first time this week since launch.LOL some of you guys are hillarious. There weren't any PS4 available for sale in December. Everywhere I went xbones were available.
Nice. 360 still has nice legs, and the turn around from the XB1 reveal is pretty remarkable.
With PS4's as limited as they are? Highly doubt that.
Who says the PS4 didn't beat the 360?But man, this does paint a picture of how dire Sony's PS4 stock was in the USA. We're talking they are under 600k units or less in the USA since they did not beat 360, and as we know they literally sold every unit they could manufacture. How long is it going to take for Sony to finally meet demand in all the countries frothing at the mouth for PS4? Is the fact that they spread their units over 50+ countries only making it look crazier than it really is for the PS4? I mean, don't get me wrong, 4.1 million or whatever is insane, but what I mean is if Sony say had unlimited stock in the USA, what would they have needed to sell to finally hit the demand of everyone who currently had plans to buy one?
Well we know US -1.8m, Uk - 364k, Germany, 100k. Thats 2.26m right there. I don't think it's a stretch to believe it sold 750k in the other launch countries combined. France usually sits somewhere in the middle of the Uk and Germany, so it wouldn't surprise me if it hit somewhere around 200k there.I really wish we could see a breakdown of those 3 million units sold.
What was Sonys attach rate number? 2.3?
I think it's perfectly in line with how Xbox consoles usually do (actually on the high side), it's 60% for the US and 40% for the rest of the world.
So The One won the most important market.
And with Brazil and Australia, they have the most important EU markets as well.
The age of Sony is done.

They beat the 360 if the clever wording by MS is anything to go by. Probably about 700k units for PS4.But man, this does paint a picture of how dire Sony's PS4 stock was in the USA. We're talking they are under 600k units or less in the USA since they did not beat 360,
YoY it's down by 55%.
I still hold firm that demand will only go to favor Microsoft in the long run, regardless of how Sony satisfies US supply chains.
US gamers want the Xbox One and its games more than they do the PS4, even at $100 more.
Guess we'll sew how right or wrong I am once the drought months come in and Sony gets consoles on shelves.
PS4 still has the lead in the US.How do we know? What is the current projection on sales breakdown? Seems 3M+ (they said more than 3 million, right?) is accurate if these sales are correct. I am bad at math though

Haha, sorry, I used the wrong saying for that. I meant, the rest of the world does not really give a shit about the XBO, save the UK, which is showing clear signs of dramatic slowing down for the XBO already. So I meant it's dry for Microsoft in terms of demand. They MUST do extremely well in the US or UK or they legitimately have no chance to come close to even 360 or PS3 numbers.

Wow. USA still MS land confirmed.

The post on twitter is phrased in such a way that the home console sales could very well be Xbone > PS4 > 360
man some of you guys are defensive as fuck when it comes to console sales lol
Not really.
The fact that the PR release only mentions December and not all of 2013 suggests that it's likely that the PS4 sold more total units in the US in November and December combined. Meaning that there are more PS4's in U.S. homes than there are xbones. If the X1 had outsold PS4 in all of 2013 they would have surely been harping on that in the press release and not just focusing specifically on December (which was only higher due to the supply constraints and PS4 being out of stock everywhere).
I really wish we could see a breakdown of those 3 million units sold.

Oops, you're right. Very precise wording - it says 360 won the console sales for last gen consoles, and One won the console sales for new generation consoles. That's totally different indeed. Numbers should be fascinating even more now.
I believe this is already confirmed
Sony used to release numbers all the time until the 360 was crushing PS3 at every turn, then they stopped.
Prob 7-900Xbone sold 900,000.00 but how many PS4 where sold ?
PS4 still has the lead in the US.

Microsoft said the 360 beat the PS3, not the PS4.
Damn, Xbox One off to an incredible start for a $500 system.
NPD is sold.Sorry for a stupid question - but is this "sold" or "shipped"?
Answers to what?Is it really this hard to just wait for the official NPD's to get some definitive spin-free answers?
Yeah, benny_a clarified. So given what we know, for Sony to have still beat Microsoft's total in North America, what is the range they should have sold in during December? Do any mathematicians have an answer?
This goes both ways.Damn, Xbox One off to an incredible start for a $500 system. Oh, and nice spinning to the guys attempting to find ways to somehow find a negative in this.
That would settle the debate if you have a legit source.
That more likely confirms that the 3M sold-through was BS.
