Should I make a thread for The Castle Doctrine? Worth the effort?

And I think there was another one in which I posted in.
Should I make a thread for The Castle Doctrine? Worth the effort?
Beat Estranged Act I, took me about an hour and half. It's another zombie shooter basically, which is kinda disappointing. It recycles many Half-life 2 game play elements, there are a lot of physics based environment puzzles, vents to crawl through and boxes to stack. The weapons also feel like HL2 weapons, they even reuse the HL2 smg. The level design is pretty decent, although having to crawl through various sewers and maintenance tunnels got pretty old.
I never realized Zachtronics released another game. Is Ironclad Tactics any good?
I never realized Zachtronics released another game. Is Ironclad Tactics any good?
Quick and dirty: Ironclad Tactics is great. I am not sure about the value/game length ratio yet but its quite amazing how deep the customization tactics can go if you try to equip a deck for a certain level or even a certain task within a level to unlock more cards.
Setting is cool, the story comic is very well made and the deck building painless. Didnt try the MP yet, but the game is great fun.
I’ve only put three hours into Ironclad Tactic, but I’m having a lot of fun with it. The basic game is this mix of card battler and tabletop wargame where you have to summon these war machines and drive them over the grid map to the opponents side before they do the same to you. The thing that stops it from being all out mad is you get action points every turn which dictates how strong the cards you can use are. The thing that caught me off guard which I hated first but now kinda love is the entire game is played in realtime despite being turn based. The turns process automatically moving over different periods where the units move, attack etc and you have to keep up with the automatic speed because if you don’t perform your actions in time you basically miss a turn, although you are able to queue up actions and each turn has enough downtime that once you get you head around the system I doubt you would ever miss a turn by mistake. I don’t anymore and I am pretty slow with this kinda stuff.
Like all random card games this can sometimes suffer from the issue of ill hands. If it takes you 10 cards before you draw a unit you could end up with the computer with 2-3 Ironclad already halfway across the map and once you get map control it is very difficult to pull victory back from that, especially in the early game when you haven’t unlocked any of the cards that can counter that. Also, this isn’t an issue for me because I like the simplicity of this, but you only get 20 cards in a deck so there is a fairly low limit on how complex the deck building gets.
Overall though, I would say it’s a real cool game with a lot of potential character and strategy and there is a ton of single player content here to roll through.
Edit: Actually plenty of content in the game, great value/length ratio.
If you have any other questions, shoot.

Nidhogg is the epic award-winning fencing tug-of-war, full of graceful acrobatics and clumsy stabs. IRL yelling and excitement may occur, in this ultimate two-player showdown of fast-paced fencing and melee attacks.
Beware, advantages in Nidhogg are often fleeting, as new opponents continually spawn in your way. Use a variety of fencing maneuvers while armed -- lunges, parries, and even dirty tricks like throwing your sword. If swordless, press forward with punches, sweep kicks, dive kicks, rolls, and wall jumps.
Hmm sounds awesome. I never finished SpaceChem so I'm in the middle of that now on my ipad lol. I just made it to Hephaestus IV so only 3 more planets left I guess. I haven't been doing the optional challenges lately. Maybe I'll come back to those - they're tough!
LOL yeah, I was definitely using "only" loosely. I've made a lot of progress in the last two days but yeah, this game is TOUGH. I started breaking out paper and pen and I bet I'm gonna need that a lot soon."Only", considering a level can take me a full weekend now, that isnt really "only"
I was vowing myself not to permanently change my avatar until I've beaten SpaceChem, so ... yeah.

ROCKETS FUCKING EVERYWHERE is a top-down bullet-hellish dodge-em-up with vicious...erm...viciousness. Travel and explode entertainingly in over five stages while listening to the awesome chiprock tracks by Graham 'Pitfall' Baker.
How could you not like a game called Rockets Fucking Everywhere? The title tells you everything you need to know about the game in one short phrase, from the whole tone of the game to the your main objective. There are rockets fucking everywhere so you better start dodging.
There isn't a story in RFE nor is there a need for one. An expansion of the original Gamejolt Contest version, this is pure twitchy evasion, and would feel right at home next to games like Super Hexagon, Goscurry, and Hyper Gauntlet. Your ship boosts forward into what is essentially an ocean of rockets. Why are there are dozens and hundreds of rockets flying through space? Who cares, just know that one hit will end you. Split second evasion is the only way to survive. And this explosive maze isn't your own obstacle; asteroids fly across the screens, lasers create deadly patterns to avoid, and later stages introduce new obstacles to evade. Clear a stage and you unlock an even more difficult version of the stage, known as "Balls To The Wall" mode. A pulsing soundtrack complements your difficult journey.
Rockets Fucking Everywhere isn't very subtle, and it probably won't be seen on many Game of the Year lists. But it excels at its singular goal of delivering a brutally challenging, fun, and addictive experience.
Been doing some thinking on the pacing and structure of the castle. Might go for something a bit more open, akin to Super Metroid. Well, not that comparable, but I always liked how your way was blocked with those ominous big statues of the bosses you had to beat before you could go fight Mother Brain. Something similar to that would be neat. This would require an extra bossfight or two, but I love designing that.

Somewhere is a first person exploration game.
A player travels through the game by becoming other people.as you navigate identities, you realize that each person you become, is a figment of another character's imagination and a part of yet another story.
Somewhere is therefore, most of all, a collection of stories, a collection that spawns characters through which a player might comprehend this town.
Just in time for the end of the voting period, I finalised my list. Fantasic year, has to be said. Looking back via everyone's votes, I can only smile.
Kickstarters I've backed/preordered that are releasing 2014I just realised that this year there are lots of crowd-funded games being released, be it the final version or an alpha/beta just in January we got Broken Age, Divine Divinity: Original Sin and The Banner Saga, likely there are more games being released that I didn't list.
Still talking about indie games releasing this month, Octodad release date is January 30th. This month is crowded with releases.
Kickstarters I've backed/preordered that are releasing 2014
- Hyper Light Drifter
- Confederate Express
- Distance
- Dex
- Rimworld
- Catacomb Kids
- Scraps
2013 was an full of awesome games, 2014 only started and its already promising.

Hey! We're Pillow Castle Games from Pittsburgh, PA. We're a team of students from Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center developing a new First Person Puzzle game built around Forced Perspective - here's a demo of the technology at work. "The Museum of Simulation Technology" is our playground we're using to wrangle our brains around using your perception as a weapon. Think of it as a "proof of concept".

This is pretty cool. It's a tech demo for an upcoming game called Museum of Simulation Technology, and the core mechanics is all about forced perspective

I think it uses the idea of perspective even better than SCALE
What is this magic?

The game will put you in the shoes of a regional branch manager of a consumer electronics company and you will be responsible for designing and building the office, hiring the staff and starting different projects that will go through the cycle of research, development, design, testing and marketing to be put on sale on market. The game will feature weird and humorous characters, corny jokes and some unexpected unlikely events happening while you're playing. In addition to the staff that works on products, there will also be supporting staff like managers, human resources, accountants, lawyers, janitors etc. that might not be required, but still strongly suggested to keep the office working smoothly.

Project Sky is a game of pirates, both in the sky and on the ocean. As the captain of your own ship, you must form and maintain a crew that is strong and loyal enough to fight with you through a perilous, shifting world full of raiders, monsters and traps.
Each time you play, the world that you traverse will be completely different. Locations will yield different results, and raiders could attack at any time. You must always be on your guard for anything, because if you die the game is over.

In Shadow Lab™ is Jason Bourne meets Sarah Connor in an intense stealth game set in a bizarre underground research lab. Neither guns nor bows can help you in this dark place. You'll need to rely on quick wits and keen observation if you want to uncover the truth. Get spotted even once and it is game over. Thanks to procedural level generation you'll never play the same mission twice. When you never know what is around the next corner it is time to start improvising instead of just memorizing.

A procedurally generated platformer/roguelike fusion. You are a force knuckle pilot and propel yourself towards the Sky through aerial combat. The higher you manage to climb, the harder the enemies and challenges will become. The world is being generated around you as you move, there are not doors or portals to higher "floors". I am trying to create a fun game for short but challenging rounds of arcade gameplay.
Freezing cold waters, foodborne illness, bacterial infections, starvation, exhaustion, and a variety of predators (currently it’s just bears, but with plans for others, some much more exotic). Potentially a lot more or less after several cycles of playtesting and revision.
1) We likely won’t kill you in your sleep, but you can die from cold, hunger, festering wounds, and illness from eating uncooked meat. Or at least, that’s the plan for the next build! Cooking on your campfire will likely be optional but a good idea for meats. Foods will spoil if left in your inventory too long. It’s not an insanely in-depth system, but it should be enough to be interesting.
The combat (and I hesitate to call it combat) is completely bow-and-arrow based right now. It's not combat exactly, because there are only two classes of wildlife: prey, which you can hunt, but which runs from you, and predators, which are nigh-impossible to kill, and are terribly, terribly dangerous to be around. So basically you're either hunting or running, never fighting.

Quadrant is a first-person survival indie horror game, taking place in 1979, inside a calssified NASA research center. The game is based off of, and inspired by, a note that was given to us by an anonymous source. It was ours to use any way we liked. Our imaginations started filling in the blanks, and thus, Quadrant was born.
