I finally watched my blu-ray edition of A Scanner Darkly. It remains one of my favorite films and has reinvigorated my desire to read the book.

I love the ideas PKD brings up.

I love both, but the book is better. It's one of those adaptations that sticks too close to the source material and suffers for it. Scenes are pulled straight from the text, so the movie is kind of like an abridged version of the novel.

I have moved homes about six months ago, haven't even bothered to connect the tv signal yet because of Netflix and such. It must be a dark time for you. Full of commercials.

I think that's why I like the movie so much honestly. After reading the books before watching Blade Runner and Hitchhiker's Guide again, I think ASD was much more cohesive and powerful at presenting the ideas of the source material.
