I like cars a lot but don't know as much as I would like like to know about them.

Don't like new cars that much (well, not ones I can afford), but I would love to go to that autoshow some year.

Oh, I hardly know anything about cars myself, and I wouldn't consider myself a car person, but it is fun to go to. Always cool stuff to check out and see, even with little car interest.

The best are the new concept cars. They're great because it looks like serious engineers were building a serious car, then were like, "Know what would be bitchin'? Interior LEDs." or something they can get away with because it's a concept and not a real car.

However, I remember seeing this and thought it was too silly to actually be real, but it is.

I dunno, maybe some people here will like it.

I'm not from Michigan but I did buy tickets for a Baltimore Auto Show in 2 weeks. The D.C. show is bigger though but I didn't feel like traveling there. I just want to see the new Stingray up close and personal.
Saw those, they were awesome looking cars.

So anyone else in Michigan? Went to the auto show tonight and it was pretty awesome. My phone was dead so I don't have any pictures, but it was still fun. Is there anyone in CarGAF here?
Dad's best friend growing up was a mechanic, and dad himself is a big car buff so yes. I'm useless when it comes to repairs but the sensation of driving is one of the best in life. Well, being able to drive fast or just alone on a good road. Definitely enjoy motorsport more than most "normal" cars.
Excellent. Most excellent.
Similar ilk Ghosts - 34.

So damn good.

I am a gearhead and love to work on cars. I don't have the money to support that love, though. Expensive hobby.

So, so good. I love the Nick Cave-ish/Ravenous soundtrack feel some of the tracks on Ghosts have. If that makes any sense? I don't have a very large music vocabulary.

Anyway, favourite Ghosts track? For me I think it is 12. Too short, I wish it had been a longer instrumental track. I love the total change at 1:03ish. The way the original tone and tune sits underneath it is just awesome.

I feel your pain. I don't know enough to work on cars and like even older ones. THAT gets expensive :)

This reminds me I need to watch the last season of Initial D. I'll probably just listen to the eurobeat instead.

Agreed, that's a great one. That entire album is full of such good music.

I'm looking to go back in time for my next car. I'm hoping to find an e30 that isn't stupidly overpriced which is difficult in California.

I'm eating one of these right now. I rarely have them and each time I eat one I wonder why that is. So good.

I sate it by playing Forza with GAF.

Someday I will own some sort of RWD/manual transmission car. Not at all practical here due to winter, but whatever.

Goddamn it makes me said that such things have to exist. :(

Best of luck to your friend.

It's fucking terminal too. He's trying to raise money to get the experimental stuff done. I have been alternating between depressed as shit and angry since I found out. He's one of the most giving, selfless people I've ever met, and this shit...He's not even 40.

Sucks when you get brutal reminders that life is not ever fair.

The law of inverse value. The less value you have to society the longer you live and visa versa. What kind of cancer, if you don't mind me asking? I set up a system for a pancreatic cancer company. Maybe there's something I can do?

I wish you could man :/ Not pancreatic though.

Stage IV metastatic malignant melanoma. They removed a ton of tumors from his face and lymph, it's in his lungs now. All this from a little black spot on his nose. Get those weird spots checked out folks :(

I'm sorry to hear that, Fiction. :( I feel your pain, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this past summer but fortunately she'll be okay. I lost my aunt to cancer and it's terrible. If there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to PM me. Or if you just want to talk / vent, I'm here.

My mum has a skin condition where she's super vulnerable to cancers, something melanin related. Gets skin cancers cut out every few years, apparently she's the longest living person with that particular condition :-/

Sorry to bring the thread down guys :(

Thanks for all the kind words though. I might make a thread sometime later (since he's technically family, a cousin), if he doesn't get close to his goal.

So um...

Fuck. So sorry to hear that. At least he got to be an awesome person by the sounds of it, more than many people manage.

When we eventually get together for that couch potato session, we'll booze it up.

Watching Amelie for the first time

Cat was just put down. :'(

Ah fuck, sorry man.

My mom has something similar where she gets basal cell cancers that she has to get removed. :/

Damn, all the best to both of your mums.

Fuck cancer and boo to cats dying.

"What is with these weird French movies with little women with big eyes that don't talk as much as a person ought to?" -- tasteless idiot —whom I own a house with— after seeing both Amélie and Nikita. For the record she is also a little woman that doesn't talk as much as a person ought to.

Both are good movies (Nikita especially), but the question remains.

Yep, Tangled > Frozen.*

*
I haven't seen Frozen yet, but I feel I'm right on this.

Tangled has the better story and animations (by a small margin) but Let it Go > I See The Light.

I'd say Frozen is a small step behind Tangled in terms of the songs themselves, because it has lows like the snowman song and Fixer Upper. Other than that, it's incredible.

Sorry to hear about your cat, TDM. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts :(
