Kingdom Come - Realistic open-world Medieval RPG [Kickstarter]

Uh so wuch wrong here.

Bard will probably be leader type commanding and not actually fighting himself.

Just like mount and blade.

Is that consistent with the medieval definition of what a bard is?

Again, this is the quote from the OP:

"You will wander the world, fighting as a knight, lurking in the shadows as a rogue, or using the bard’s charm to persuade people to your cause."

£30 for physical. That's way too cheap for making physical stuff and distributing it, right?
This physical deluxe edition of Might & Magic X Legacy is €30:

I don't think Ubisoft is in the business of losing money on their games ;)

I should probably play mount and Blade. Could you describe what a bard does more specifically in that game?

There are no classes in m&b but there are skills that are other than combat like surgery, leadership and performance.

In that game for example you can learn songs and play on duke, king, baron parties you can thanks to charisma skill influence them, change their mind or even menage to make them go to war. You can woo baron daugher and if he likes you he can give you village for wedding present.

There is much more that this.

Kickstarter text:
d, persuading nobles with your silver tongue and convincing them to fight one another. Use your wits rather than your muscles to get the job done. Share drinks with people, be the funny guy everyone likes… and then stab your rivals in the back when they least expect it.

Why not just wait a bit before passing judgement? The stab your rivals in the back thing already shows that the class is more than just a "plus charisma" attribute.

And since when it is said that bards need to have aoe buffs and low magic spells.

I believe any tier that comes with a game is Ps4 tier.
I assume at a later date closer to release you chose what version you want.

Edit: Yes the email sent by KS says at a later date a survey will be sent to let you choose all of this.

Only the Baron pledge (and up) gives you the choice of platform, so it's at least £25 for the PS4 version.

So I entered this thread thinking I was going to see what this is about and even if it looked good, dont pledge.
I enter, watch the game, looks amazing (a mix of the good things) of mount and blade and elder scrolls, and the i read it's from the people that developed Mafia 1 and 2.
Those two are some of my favourite games ever.

So now I exit this thread:
-Fuck now I really neeed to pledge for this, dot know if baron or knight.
-Mafia 3 is probably going to suck or never be released, no? :(

Is very expensive for really small indies. If you know the right people you can get them done really cheap, and this guys has been in the serious bussiness since Mafia 1

Depends on the systems you own. PC you should probably do knight, baron if you own PS4 or XB1 and also want to play an alpha module.

I have no idea about Mafia 3.. but it seems to be in quite a complicated development.

Wanted baron because of wanting to try the alpha and being a huge fan of this people, going to play it on pc. I dont know, maybe I get a physical edition.

The problem is that Im not being payed now, so less money to spend on this things.

Whether you see a sparkly effect and use up magic points is irrelevant. Being able to take someone from completely neutral to convincing them to die for you in less than 10 minutes of real time is magic. Rallying troops in the exact same way every time because you used a specific skill you know is magic. I don't know if the game does this, but that's along the lines of what it sounds like.

That is the thing, you are kind of reading into it from one sentence. We do not know yet. We do not know the time scales, mechanics, or anything about it yet. Other than the fact that you end up having an easier time recruiting people to help you.

This is a game project people should found on kickstarter, not to preorder, but to make it possible!

backed 25£ special knight edition!

This looks mighty good at this stage of development. Glorious! Perfect for Kickstarter!

Europe, including me, is cashing out.
US is preparing its wallet as we speak.

This might very well get above 300k and beyond!

Would be interesting if you could be a female. You'd have to hide your feminine features from everyone, cut your hair, wrap your chest etc. If you are caught then you are dragged across mud and burned at the stake. It could be a entire class in it's own right considering the handicaps.

Yeah, hopefully. :)

I just wanted Perkel to understand what I was getting at.

Sweet kickstarter projects that are already well in to production, like Banner Saga, are sweet.

btw, between this and Star citizen, there's light for cryengine modding to be reborn.

That's ~$50 USD once you take out the retailer cut it's more than a publisher gets for a $60 release. A case and 3 discs doesn't cost a lot to produce.

Good to know, thanks!

Their total planned development budget is $5 million (10 times kickstarter)

Kickstarter said:
The sum we are asking for is about ten percent of our total budget; for our investor, however, it is proof that there is real demand for the game, and that there is a point to keeping it funded. Every extra dollar will allow us to make the final product that much better because it means more money for development and more support from our investor.

That would put it in the same ballpark as the first witcher, or a third of the witcher 3 dev budget.

I wonder how the will handle marketing. For example, Witcher 3's marketing budget is $25 Million.

I love the physicality of the camera. Instead of being punched and then having a screen effect to tell you that you're hurt, your view is disoriented with your head movement when you get punched in the face. A much cooler representation of first person damage and a better incentive to avoid it.

inverse kinematics in yo face

Too bad for the motion-sick prone people but then they wouldn't be into first person games anyway :P

read a bit ? :p

fucking publishers ...
Indeed, fucking publishers. I can see their point of view, a lot of people like dragons and magic and stuff like that in their games, but seriously, big games like this are very rare and they surely have a market too. This really just tells about how safe publishers usually want to play things. Dear goodness the devs have that rich guy investing in them.

This and the blog post (especially that is, along with the kickstarter and the game in general) really makes me wanna donate.

20% done now.

Oculus Rift gunna fuck you all up in dat move, son.

armored knights, interrogate, bribe, threaten, love, help, fight…

I wonder if is this is a choice that carries thought the acts.
Imagine time skipping as the acts progress having your character grow into a veteran and possibly have your son(s) fighting alongside you in Act 3.

Huh thought it smelled like the warhorse guys when I read the top of the kickstarter and would jibe with what's been going up on their blog too (it's a great blog by the way, well worth an afternoon's read).

Seems a lot like Mount and Blade with more story hooks though, which ain't a bad thing at all.

The Act 1 stuff is crap though. That turned me off of backing the Banner Saga and will turn me off this. Not that I'll be needed and I'm glad they'll get their funding.

This will be the first KS I support... this one lands right in my wheelhouse.

Kingdom Come sounds too much like King.com. How the hell am I supposed to not confuse this game with Candy Crush? Quick, someone file a notice of opposition!

Been a while since I backed a KS game, but this one has my support! I hope I can get a PS4 copy with my Solider digital tier... if not I'll happily play it on PC I guess :P.

edit: Just saw you need Baron for PS4 copy, oh well, I'll stick with my digital copy on PC :P.

This pic really pleases me. I think it's because of the natural lighting. Horse looks like it's made out of stone, though.
