Uh.. Developers never held back. PS3 was just harder to develop for.
Where's that Jennifer Lawrence yeah okay gif GAF?

Assuming they don't use GPGPU because it's relatively new due to HSA being a new thing and developers still often developing single-threaded game engines even though we've had multicores for a long ass ime.It tells you that even CPU bottle necked, the PS4 version will run at a higher frame rate.
If they are using GPGPU that's even less of a concern.
Technically the GPU should never be bottlenecked by the CPU on either console.
The differences shouldn't be this huge though. There'd obviously be a difference but so far the gap is bigger than between the 360 and PS3 (much bigger I'd say).

PC: Maximum edition
PS4: Definitive edition
XBox One: Balanced edition
I find it amusing how happy this news makes some of you. Every time there's a proPS4/negative Xbone story, this place turns into one giant circle jerk.
Wow. Great scoop EatChildren. Question though, was this from the retail version of the game? I ask because I wonder if MS stepped in and forced parity between platforms.

Can you expand on why and how the score of 14 per CPU (Core?) in the benchmark can be applied here?
LOL. I don't own any next gen systems too broke for now, I don't give a fuck about your console warz. But this thread is hilarious.Don't sound so hurt.. That tag will just make it worst.
I can't imagine e meltdowns if any next gen exclusive games have this kind of performance gap.
Another Dev not putting effort in the Xbox One version? Color me surprised..... :/
It sucks that the XB1 is so underpowered compared to the PS4, but really, most people won't notice or care. Consoles have beat their more powerful rivals several times in the past. The XB1 being less powerful will result in 30,000 less sales at the very most.
Definitely, but hopefully that means it's not downgraded as a result! (But they do need to optimize it further, it looks prettier than 2.0 but its performance impact does not justify the extra graphics)I think if anything, TressFX 2.0 being developed on consoles will help with further optimizations for future PC games using it.
Why are so many of us convinced of that? I remember in the PS3's early years, multiplatform games were absolute shart for the system. But it improved over the years and toward the end, there was parity.
Why are we so sure the Xbox One won't make similar strides down the line?
And I'm not saying it will! I'm just curious.
I'm not saying the XB1 will "win" the "console war" or whatever. I'm just saying power differences don't always mean much to the general gaming public. I have a PS4 and probably won't buy an XB1 unless Halo 5 turns out to be good.Have they done so while being cheaper and launching at the same time?
There's always been a price and launch difference but PS4 is cheaper and came out first.

I Eagerly await these releases:
Watch Doge
The Witcher 3
Destiny
The Division
If a disparity this large hold true for the majority of these games, then Houston we have a much larger problem than we anticipated
So stoked developers are no longer holding back their games with PS4, like they did with PS3's superior hardware.
well he says he is not paid to me just now, and I'll take him at his word. He got branded in the other thread for similar behavior in which he said he had no problem with the Machinima paid promotion and that he said he has an channel which is all Xbox anyway and doesn't see what's wrong with getting paid for that, and then someone linked to his twitter which made it look like a lot worse. But he says he's just a really passionate Xbox fan, so we'll leave it at that.

How can you say it's poor optimization when the technically knowledgable people on here have been saying all along that there's a significant power gap?
And I want to know what that benchmark shows me w.r.t. this game. That's a CPU benchmark....
Ooh, been a while since I've seen this terrible argument. It sucks that the XB1 is so underpowered compared to the PS4, but really, most people won't notice or care. Wait for 720p titanfall.
A 7770 runs the game at these settings at below 30fps I think with TressFX on. 60 fps is actually impressive rather than 30fps being a bad port IMO.

Not really sure why either. Everyone has already known that the ps4 has better hardware. I think its funny that it makes people feel happy that the ps4 is stronger, at the end of the day its a game machine, not a way of life, or something that represents someone.
I don't know. Maybe it's the amazing online service that is Xbox Live. The innovative Kinect Sensor with its motion tracking and voice recognition capabilities. Or maybe its the slew of amazing first party and third party exclusives coming to console. I really don't understand it either......
$pringfield (Or, how I learned to stop worrying and love legalized gambling)I must know what episode this is from!

A game running on the Source Engine..? I don't think so. I expect 1080p and 60 fps on the XB1.
If anything, effects and such will be toned down compared to the PC version.
And I want to know what that benchmark shows me w.r.t. this game.
I'll believe it when I see it. Remember ps4 cod:ghost was supposed to be 60fps at 1080P..
Turns out you needed a patch to make it 1080P. Unfortunately that patch didn't fix the framerate issues.
I expect ps4 TR to have the same framerate issue. I'll take balanced 30fps over inconsistent 60fps.

Don't mistake me as participating in some silly console war rhetoric. I have no interest in who sells the most consoles. I said what I meant: the power difference between the XB1 and the PS4 won't mean much to the general public in the long run. Some people will know about it and it may affect their purchase, but there are many other factors that may sway peoples' wallets.Ooh, been a while since I've seen this terrible argument.
Because obviously the most powerful console has also reached the market at the same time and at a lower price than its competition before. -.-
Brace yourself friend. Choppy waters are ahead.

I remain steadfast in the face of meaningless avatar quotes. Your (lack of) implications do not phase me.
