I was wondering how everyone was creating these custom rosters... now I've finally realized there's been a program for it all along! Slow to catch on, this one is.

Anyway, I took my shot at creating what I consider to be a fairly accurate representation of what I believe the final Smash 4 roster could look like, my personal wishes/biases aside. I feel that most if not all of the non-confirmed veterans in this roster are very likely to return, while the newcomers at least have a real shot at being confirmed with no one being too outlandish or too far into the "pipe dream" category, except for maybe Shulk.

I do believe there's a fairly good chance that Ike, Lucas, Wolf, Lucario, and R.O.B. will all be cut, so I left them out of this roster.

Thoughts?

And let me know if I missed something obvious, I'm super jet-lagged.

EDIT: Updated the roster to include a character I forgot (Zero Suit Samus, sharing a slot with Samus) and rearranged a few slots to be a little more appropriately grouped/ordered.

Why Takamaru?

Although I'm surprised he hasn't appeared in a Fire Emblem game yet.

It's missing a Golden Sun character but it has Shulk so I'll forgive you.

Takamaru is favourite for the NES revival category. The Nintendoland game kind of helped seal the deal.

Though knowing Sakurai he may consider Takamaru so predictable that he uses someone else.

Why Takamaru?

Thanks to Nintendo Land, I feel Takamaru could replace R.O.B. as the out-of-nowhere, weird, super-retro character in the roster (other than Mr. Game & Watch). Also, I did consider including Isaac and I do think he'd be a great addition, but the Golden Sun series is long dead and isn't really that well-remembered by anyone other than its fans, while Xenoblade is a recent Nintendo hit and the game is still very popular, with either a direct or spiritual sequel on the way for Wii U... so Shulk felt like the likelier choice to me.

I don't think that rumor is legit since he told us where he work at. People would hunt him down if it's true. I put italic on characters whom would be more likely to be assist trophies.

The Proto Man thing kills it. No way in hell is Proto Man going to be playable separately from Mega Man, so unless this supposed promotional art is advertising Assist Trophies too (and why would it?)... nope.

You can change Isaac to Matthew to be honest. Not that it makes a difference.

Also, please Sakurai give us a KI:U stage on Wii U. I know you're doing the whole platform-exclusive stage thing, but Uprising deserves representation on the Wii U. Same goes for the mainline Pokemon games and a few other handheld series.
