I haven't watched any of season 5 Castle except the first episode. Is it any good?

Yes

There's a time travel conspiracy ep that is quite enjoyable. The rest are solid

Crap, I meant season 6, I remember that episode.

It doesn't feel like they've released 6 seasons, it's only been 5 years!

I don't see what's fun about it to be honest.

AA is like one of the greatest and fun Visual Novel-ish game out there. The characters are great, the whole take on being a lawyer and uncovering clues are great.

What's not to like? :o

Really? I got bored with Case 1 in the first game and just kind of quit :P

I don't really enjoy visual novel style games. I don't enjoy a lot of pure adventure stuff actually. Although I did have fun with Ghost Trick and thought it really handled it's plot resolution brilliantly.

The first one I believe. I was up to a level where you were investigating in a movie studio, I think? Or something like that. I didn't hate it but I never finished the game. Gave it back to my friend eventually.

You really should play past that. The story starts getting to be fantastic.

Same goes to you, guy above me that I forgot to quote.

Unfortunately I haven't played VLR, due to not owing any of the new handhelds...

Although I plan on correcting that once I get a PS4 and Vita along with it.

I wish I hadn't known about them until they were all out.

Though I don't know if my mind could handle being blown so much in such a short space of time.

Nein Nein Nein

People will disagree with this assessment, but I think VLR was waaay better than 999 from a story standpoint. So if you don't have a DS (or 3DS) then just move on to VLR.

It was good enough to cause FK to request that I play it in front of her so she didn't miss any story.

Ya, the problem is that the puzzles aren't the greatest so you kind of start dreading those sequences... and they're VERY LONG if you want to 100% those games.

I'd say to just YouTube em, but it's one of those games where it's just not the same as having those mind blowing revelations during gameplay. I can understand not having the time though. Had to decide that I was going to skip on OlliOlli for now in favor of Might and Magic X... just not enough time!

You seem like a fan of the kind of schlocky Sci-Fi that the games are dripping with though, so if you can check em out you'd probably like em.

Noooooo, don't skip! Why would you tell someone to do that D:

That's like skipping Fellowship to watch Two Towers.

I think the last handheld game I ever played/ enjoyed was Golden Sun. 2001! I'm too young to feel this old.

Not... no, not really. The story's are very much related, but it's not like Bilbo's carrying the ring from 999 into VLR.

I don't think it's required, but that doesn't mean I say you should skip it IF you have the time and the ability to play it. I've seen people hold off on playing VLR because they couldn't play 999 first and that hurts. :(

So my sister bought me a pair of cheap TOMs from this store that was closing down... but they were too big and now the website won't give me the right size.

They did give me a $15 e-Gift card number (Which I'll never use).

So if you any of you are into that, send me a PM and a nude pic.

Let me use a better comparison then. Since I do agree LotR isn't the best comparsion.

999 is New Hope, VLR is Empire. It's possible to skip New Hope and jump to Empire, but one misses a lot of references and nods by doing so.

Good luck!

I hate talking on the phone too.
thanks!
honestly, I'd be less nervous meeting someone in person than talking over the phone. but everyone always wants to call
this sick culture we live in .___.

Gah, I'm the opposite. Hate texting. Feels lifeless everytime.

What will you write about?

oh texting was the best thing that came with cell phones.
well that's what we wanted to discuss, roughly said my original idea was to write about how capitalistic processes influenced certain game companies over the years and stuff like that. I'm a german student, all we ever think about are marx and adorno and all this "kritische theorie" shit

btw: can you even say "capitalistic" in english?...I kinda made that up from the german term but also saw it written several times like this yet it somehow sounds wrong

I would say 999 is required to understand certain parts. That and, if you play VLR first you spoil 90% of 999 which is not recommended at all.

That's actually really cool. Is this done for a class?

Be sure to share with gaming side (just not right now with the Tomb Raider thread going on).

no, it's for a magazine that publishes articles and essays about games :> (actually it's a mix between book and magazine)
I'm afraid it would be in german though
