I remember
starting the Citadel level and thinking to myself "If Thane dies here I swear to god I'll be so fucking done with this game." And then not two seconds later he gets stabbed.

I'm so sorry :(

Gimme ME4 with an ME1-style open citadel and choices that ACTUALLY matter this time plz.

It'll be day1 for me anyway. Favourite videogame franchise. (I know, I know, hate me all you want.) I just love the universe so much.

Why though? The Asari are great ;_;

Terrible design for a SF species. We expect blue-skinned space babes and ridge head aliens in low budget TV but when you're doing a game there's no excuse for them to look so plainly human. They wear human armor in ME1, for example. Their facial features + breasts (on a non-mammalian species...) are exactly like a 21st century ideal of feminine beauty, and there are no ugly Asari. They have head tentacles to try and make them look a bit more alien, and blue skin. Those are the only major differences. Oh, they're also immortal space-elves who are all born with Biotic powers, even though the codex says that you need Element Zero in your brain to raise/lower mass fields and so on (this stupidity is continued later on with the idea of "genetically engineering biotic powers" into Miranda), which can't just be grown organically since it has to be formed in extreme astrophysical circumstances / i s one of the rarest materials in the universe. They somehow have psychic powers as well with no explanation, can act as mystical guides, can have sex with any species and produce offspring, are all bisexual...

It's a whole fucking species of Mary Sue, as designed by a lusty teenaged Trek nerd. Absolutely awful when put next to other species that are competently designed. Even the Drell, who were also designed as a romancable option from the start at least don't look so blatant about it.

I will take you up on that.

Guys, everyone knows that Mass Effect 2 is the best in the series.

I loved both 1 and 2. 2 probably more than 1, it improved on most things from 1 while we still had hope our choices mattered. 3 was alright, the ending and the fact that they try to make all the previous choices come together instead of getting them further apart drags the gameplay strengths down so much.

And improve the combat and we have a winner.

Just make it an actual RPG instead of some Space Gears of War cover-based shooter/RPG hybrid.

That's pretty much exactly how I'd describe ME2. Decision-tree GoW. I didn't even bother with 3.

Nursing home. High dependency wing today. Dementia patients are adorable mostly. Except the screaming one. She's not cute

Do you get a staff discount when you get old?

ME 1 is terrible because:

-Weapon upgrading / armor was terrible
-Menus were clunck
-That rover thing gave me a headache
-The Citadel was a huge pain
-Biotics were useless

Just to name a few problems

Just did my to do list for this weekend/next week re: homework. There's so little, like 100 pages of readings, some studying for tests, and some math. What. So easy. I don't know what to do with all this time.

edit:

My mum worked at a nursing home for more than ten years. She was never a warm or extra kind woman but seeing her with residents was like seeing a different person. She was even extra nice to the little old lady that would lecture her on going to hell.

You missed the part where ME1 was basically every other Bioware game in space that wasn't KOTOR, but at the same time was KOTOR.

ME2 was great, even if it felt like a step back at the time in some respects.

You don't like ME1 very much either?

<3 <3 <3

I played it on 360 (wasn't on PC at launch...), where the frame-rate was atrocious and the graphics were even uglier than normal. Screen tearing, extremely bad texture popin, you name it. The cutscene where Shepard is on the ship after you left somebody behind and you're leaning up against a locker sulking took like 5 full seconds for the locker texture to load in. You also forgot to mention that each skill would give you "1% increased accuracy" so you never percieved any real differences when you leveled up unless you saved 3 levels of points and dumped them all into the same thing. They had the stupid elevator loading screens (which took FOREVERRRRRRR on console), the atrociously reused environments on the completely barren uncharted worlds. And the fact that it's a cover shooter for 70% of its game time, but the shooting fucking sucks.

I don't know if I would count tedium as an RPG feature. 2 was probably the best in the series, I was lucky enough to lose interest in them after the giant terminator baby.

ME3 was the best compromise and had the right mix of RPG and shooter mechanics and systems, but ME2 had the better pacing IMO.

I KNEW you were my favorite mod for a reason <33333

I agree with everything you said.

ME3 would've been great if the story didn't ruin everything ME1 and 2 had built up. So that drags down the entire game, despite how good the rest of the game was mechanistically.

Like I said. Gimme ME4 with a story where choices actually matter and an open citadel like ME1. C'mon.

ME3 has the best gameplay, it's got even more refined shooting than ME2 but restores some more depth and RPG stuff at the same time. The only step back is with the lack of persuade options and interrupts, although the former was broken in ME2 anyway.

ME2 has the best cast of characters and the recruitment/loyalty quests are some of the best missions in the series. The main plot is weak as water, but it's still a great experience overall.

ME1 has the least broken main story of the three, although I don't consider it great by any stretch tbh.

Sooooo, Mass Effect.Citadel! Aliens! RPG/TPS! Lousy ending!

I have no idea what I am talking about. Never played any of them.

I have all 3, 2 still wrapped, and only stuck in ME1 for a few minutes. But I think I'm probably the sort of person who would think that ME1 was the best of them.

Only when I get the teris blocks juuuuust right.

Yeah take it you dirty bitch.
