Was thinking that also. His writing is great so far in the show.Has anybody actually read anything by Nic Pizzolatto? It's pretty impressive he wrote the entire show on his own, I'd like to read some of his writing.
I haven't read any of his work, but I've heard good things about Galveston.Has anybody actually read anything by Nic Pizzolatto? It's pretty impressive he wrote the entire show on his own, I'd like to read some of his writing.
Out of context, this scene is hilarious as hell.
The thought of Rust just randomly showing up to mow Hart's lawn is hilarious.
I hate the ads for this show being shown on other channels. Now that I've seen two episodes and know some context, there are little bits that are obvious spoilers. I kinda know what's going to happen next just based on one 2-second flash of a man walking.
- A couple Wall Street Journal critics throwing around a few theories on True Detective (youtube, ~6 min)
The Locked Room
Parishioners identify a scarred man seen with Dora Lange; a sex offender is brought in for interrogation; Maggie sets Cohle up with a friend; Cohle looks over old case files.
New episode tonight:
So it's pretty much certain that Rust accidentally killed his own daughter right? Something to do with his house being near a bend. Daughter was probably on the street/driveway and he didn't see her in time because of the curve.
They'll submit in Miniseries.Just had a thought, isn't it possible Matthew/Woody going to take the Emmy's from Cranston/Paul next year? True Detective over Breaking Bad too?
I understood that reference.GifHadn't even thought of that. You're probably right.
I wonder if Rust ends up mentoring drug abusers in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I'd love to see Al Pacino along with someone younger. It could have an interesting older vs newer dynamic of detective work. Think of Insomnia Al Pacino but more decompressed into a miniseries.Sign me up for Ed Norton and Aaron Eckhart in season 2, please.

Not liking it so far. Its already been 2 episodes and I feel like we're still in the first 10 minutes of Seven or any serial killer movie.
I hope so. Are they doing this interview shtick for the whole season? or are woody and rust gonna reunite pretty soon and do some detective work.Se7en is 2 hours while this is 8 hours. So yeah, it's the equivalent of being 15 minutes into a movie. Not sure what you were expecting. The great thing about TV is being able to go deeper due to the longer runtime
I feel like Kevin Bacon would be such a better fit for this show than The Following. The Following is wasting him.
I feel like the entire Cast is too good for that show.
So if my hbo go is running on a cable subscription in the pacific timezone, do I have to wait until 10pm PST for it to show up? Or will it be on GO after it airs on the east coast?
Oh hell yiss.Nope, once it starts* airing on the east coast, it'll appear on HBO GO.
*Sometimes it takes a few minutes to appear.
The opening is so great. Whoever did it definitely knew their shit.Just love this opening.
I feel like the entire Cast is too good for that show.
Except Natalie Zea. She's right where she belongs.
"The tall man" doesn't sound sinister at all. Nooooope.
