Super Smash Bros Wii U & 3DS Thread 4: New Year, Old Arguments

Oh well ok , well that is your categorization and i can't really fight that.

For me though, when a series over takes another series or the series spurs off into another weird place it looses spin off status. And they stopped making OG megamen at some point, they made x after that. And that was megaman at the time, and then that got over taken by Zero and that got over taken by ZX.

When I hear megaman Spin off i think battle network.

I would love for there to be more Nintendo Hardware/peripheral representation in the series. I love that they included the Supershot from the Super Nintendo as an item. I think there are opportunities for more to show up.

- Power Glove: I think it would be an item that would enhance all characters normal attacks/smash attacks.

- wii-mote/nunchuck combo: these would also be melee items. They would work just like Nunchucks, giving you longer reach and faster combos/longer combos

- The gun adapter for the wii-mote from Link's Crossbow Training: it would be another projectile item but with different properties as it would work like a crossbow. Perhaps ones of the strongest projectile items but having to reload it causing it to leave you vulnerable.

Anyone else have any other item ideas?

The fact that Mega Man Classic continued to run after X launched, and X after Zero, I think it's safe to call them spinoffs.

Actually, Mega Man 9 etc. would be prequels to Mega Man X.
There's a coherent storyline that all takes place in the same universe - Classic, X, Zero, ZX and Legends also is somewhere in that timeline as well.

The true spin-off series are BN and Starforce, as well as stuff like Mega Man Soccer.

The GB games are remakes/ports sorta, so I wouldn't call them spin-offs either. The oddball here is Mega Man V because it has its unique robot masters and such, but I would also put that into the regular Mega Man series; just cause it's on a different platform doesn't make it a spin-off, after all.

That's not a press conference though, is it? It's just an information release for the investors.

Well, they usually host press conference a day after the press release, so it could be Jan 30. I really hope that we are getting Nintendo Direct before the press release so they are trying to look nice front of investors. You gotta to make them happy or else.

I found the information about briefing.

These are very clever ideas, hope Sakurai does something along these lines.

Even though the Power Glove often comes up as item, and sometimes even as character idea, it will never be included in Smash.
The Power Glove actually was third party hardware, it was created by Mattel.

Great ideas. Smash has always been a place to salvage legacy Nintendo hardware, peripherals and brands.

Virtual Boy could also appear as an item, with a potentially gimmicky function. Perhaps if the user plays with the GamePad, it could allow them to see the stage through it in a seizure-red, first-person fashion. Likewise on 3DS for the bottom screen.

What about a Professor Layton + Luke dual character, the games are associated with Nintendo (there have been spin-offs on iOS + Android) and could be a Level 5 rep. Moves could involve his cane and hat, and he;s a pretty good fighter anyway, I don't know what Luke could do though, maybe he's best as an assist trophy. Special move set could involve different puzzles, and I guess so could the final smash.
Yes, please.

Why would Nintendo include 3rd party accessories? IIRC the Power Glove is by Mattel.

They're secretly hoping for a Barbie rep.

They could always settle for DreamMix TV.

Power Glove is third party. Not saying its impossible to appear, but it's not Nintendo hardware.

This is partially why I got Captain N on my wishlist, using weaponized hardware is pretty much his thing and they could update him to use Wii controllers.

professor layton would be amazing but I dont expect him anymore though :(

So I started playing Kid Icarus: Uprising two days ago. I made it to Chapter 21 so far.

WOW

I knew the game was going to be good, and have a nice story, BUT MAN ARE THE CHARACTERS SOOOOOO GOOOOOD! I cant remember the last time I liked every single cahracter in a game. The dialogue!! <3

I can see why people want Palutena for Smash. Then again I can see why people want Hades and Viridi too.

Viridi is really awesome btw.....o.o

Anyone else want to make a Dixie Kong movelist?

Neutral B: Bubblegum Gun, like Diddy's Peanut Popgun but can temporarily disable opponent movement if charged enough.
Side B: Barrel Blast, uses Konga jet pack. Charged side attack.
Down B: Konga Jam. Like DK's Final Smash but useful.
Up B: Helicopter Twirl, like in the games. Would play like R.O.B.'s Up B but inflicts damage.
Fast and nimble like Diddy, she would inflict damage mostly with hair attacks and grab items with her hair. Even though her hair is a propeller, I don't expect her to have more than 2 standard jumps.

it's good eh

Some of the best voice acting in a Nintendo game, ever. Amazing what they're capable of. Too bad Other M didn't get the same treatment...
