Oh gosh...some monsters now have magic...they can levitate you
So what's up with the story of the game.. Do the quests stop right after you defeat the first boss? And I'm assuming this is just a beta thing.
No more wipes? I was holding because of this.
Not sure what their definition of a low end computer is cause I definitely don't have a low end rig and my stuttering is noticeable.
I noticed the server is pretty much empty?![]()
The server always seems empty. A lot of players just tend to be quiet and not say anything.
Guess the starter planet is just empty then, I ran a lap around it and not a single soul was found.
Has the password changed? It keeps telling me the password im inputting is wrong
No? Should still be the same as before.
I've tried maybe 20 times now, either copying and pasting the info directly or inputting it myself and the result is always the same. The game tells me that the password is incorrect. I'll try restarting Steam and hopefully it will work
EDIT: still not working
I just entered the server, it works fine for me.
why did the thing in the apex lab or temple or w/e make me explode when i pressed e on it. wtf.
Server was super laggy and now booted me off.
Is there a problem getting the first boss to appear? I have the distress beacon out and have been waiting forever.
Attacking with the Basic Spear as a Human crashes my game without fail. It's like the attack animation is missing, game stalls and boots to desktop without an error.
Testing out the other weapons now.
Did you interact with it, or just place it?
I just placed it
You can drain pools of water by knocking out the background wall? THIS GAME!
Another good tip to know: As long as you're above 0 elevation, you can knock out backwalls for light (as long as its daytime).
I wish you could build your own ship....
Yeah, I realized that a bit too late. wasted entirely too many torches.

How can I have a sword in one hand and a shield in the other at the same time?
No, this was (probably) the last character wipe. There's still a lot of work to do, they're still in Phase 1 of beta. Full game is probably going to be closer to spring or even summer at this rate.
And before anyone complains, remember how much people were begging for them to release anything playable.
The same thing happened again -- I couldn't opt out of the latest update. So I guess either Valve changed their policy or the Starbound developers changed the setting.
I wouldn't want to for this particular update, but I had been wishing Valve had a feature to allow you to opt out of updates for a long time. I was glad when I noticed it was added, because I could still play old Starbound versions. Why would you opt out this time?
Its a full wipe, so you wouldnt be able to take any precautionary measures with your loot anyway.
Can you repair damaged items like Gold pickaxes? I remember the Wiki saying something about using diamonds, but I'm not sure how..

Now, if we DO get a bad patch in the future and wish to opt out, we apparently can't again. All this assuming there isn't a specific "This update is mandatory" setting or something. I really need another frequently-updated game as a comparison point.
