Pfffffffft.

I imagine Monopoly is popular in light of the real estate prices.

Is that a Vancouver joke? Because if so, that's not bad.

Also I fucking hate Monopoly. It's not a real boardgame. It's just... not good game design. Just like Risk.

Give me real boardgames plz. Dominion, 7 Wonders, GoT, Small World, Lords of Waterdeep, stuff like that.

what's the better card game:

gin rummy

hearts

hearts.

Yes.

Monopoly is better than the Game of Life, at least. I agree that it's not particularly fun and it's made that much worse by stupid house rules. Risk is terrible.

Dominion, 7 Wonders, GoT, Small World, Lords of Waterdeep, stuff like that.

Own a few. Have yet to try GoT (Game of Thrones?) and Lords of Waterdeep, which I've heard isn't particularly interesting.

My favourites are still Power Grid, Agricola, Puerto Rico. I enjoy Seven Wonders for fast filler (it isn't merely filler, of course).

Lords of Waterdeep is a ton of fun. It's simpler than Agricola and more of a D&D/Quest-themed game, so if you like Agricola you might like it, too.

7 Wonders has the big advantage of being up to 7, which not many regular boardgames can, without being long. Perfect group-game to play on a boardgame night.

How come I haven't seen you post in BoardgameGAF? or did I just not see you?

I have posted at least once in at least one of the threads over the years. I used to haunt the Geek when I was growing my collection several years ago, but I've not really felt the need to acquire more games at that pace any more, and am happier discovering games through friends at board game nights. I do subscribe to the thread and read it once in a while (RftG for iOS pls!), which is why I knew I made the Monopoly joke.

Prepare your feelhole

Hell yeah The Road.

You guys don't understand, I go all the way when it comes to these films. No buildup necessary. I expect the same from him.

You guys are Aboriginals?

No. Just regular Australian. Australian mods have a bit of a reputation for being lazy and / not strict enough.

:(

Yeah. Think of me as a super movie casual. Got any other recommendation?

I would avoid Come and See because it's one of the most disturbing films ever made. La Jetee is a short that might be good to start with. You might even be able to find it on Youtube, I know for sure it's on various similar websites but I have no idea what the legal status of it is (it's super old so it might be lacking a copyright, whatever it is nobody seems to have cared enough to take them down).

Donnie Darko and The Fall are "your milage may vary" films but I love em and they give me the feels. Shawshank Redemption is another standard feels movie, as with Grave of the Fireflies. Das Leben Der Anderen from that list is one I pimp every time because it's a foreign film and it makes me feel smart for knowing it.

Bridge to Terabithia

Prepare your feelhole

Still haven't seen. Started watching "I, Claudius" so at this rate I'll never get through my list.

Are you ready for more feels?

If so: City of God.

If not: NOT City of God or it'll destroy you.
Where do I find this? I don't think there are any Bollywood movies around where I live.

Hey, if I find this not feel worthy, you're gonna have to shout me for a lunch.
The Road. Do it.
I'm going to start this. My bro has it in his external hard-drive :D
Also this is my real pic

Awesome pic man (Y)
Oh, Pirate. A Walk To Remember.

Kind of a sappy teen movie but I remember crying hysterically the first time I saw it.
Sounds like a love story. Never heard of it. What is it about?

Perfect. Bookmarked that for later reference. Thanks :)
He should read The Road and watch No Country for Old Men.
Is there a big difference between the book and the movie?

Don't worry, you're going to cry.

AWTR is a love story, but it's a tear jerker. I won't say much more than that because spoilers. A lot of sappy high school themes but otherwise pretty decent and feels-inducing.
