Super Smash Bros Wii U & 3DS Thread 4: New Year, Old Arguments

Kinda glad I didn't stay up for this pic. It's pretty basic, their arrows work the same as they would in Brawl etc.

Judging by the trailers and footage we've seen, I think the game will be a little faster than Brawl.

I wonder how long until Sakurai reveals Palutena.

The next trailer for the game should go like this:

Mario, Link, and Pit are fighting at Palutena's Temple. It's very violent, with lots of structures being destroyed. During the fight, some impact cause the statue of Palutena to be knocked off its base and sent falling below.

Pit, naturally, leaps after it to try and catch it. He's falling quickly, but he just can't keep with it. It's just too far from him. Just when all hope appears to lost, a shine of light appears, and two words are called out:

"UNITE HAND!"

Kid Icarus 2 for 3DS.

Actually, Uprising is Kid Icarus 3. But YES, and Uprising sequel Developed by Platinum Games, directed by Kamiya.

Then Sakurai takes the lead for Kid Icarus 5 for the next Nintendo handheld/hybrid/non weareable QOL device/whatever. Yes please.

Did you guys forget that Sakurai said he won't make a KI:U sequel (and hates making sequels in general)

We'll never get a proper Kid Icarus: Uprising sequel

;_;

You forgot to mention that it should be co-developed by Retro Studios and become a Skyrim and Demon Souls clone with a hint of The Last of Us.

He hates making sequels yet we have Smash Bros 4 coming.

I'm not sure if it's reliable but I think he mentioned that he like to make Super Smash Bros sequels because he can be more creative with the characters that he want to include in the game. I guess He like the position where he make the decision to add characters he felt that they needed to be in the game, because he might like to making the movesets for them.

The next KI to be called "Get Fit with Pit," coming to the Nintendo QOL in 2015.

I was just goofing around and came up with a move list for Jeff. (I would really love Jeff in the game as a fighter)

Jeff move list

Neutral Attack - Wrench Attack. Combo: Wrench attack, wrench thrust, wrench throw
Down Tilt - Toy air gun (works as a trip)
Forward Tilt - Wrench jab
Up Tilt - Wrench uppercut

Up Smash - Bottle Rockets
Down Smash - Pop Gun (shoots toward the legs/feet)
Side Smash - Bazooka

Neutral Special - Laser Gun (Can be charged as a double beam)
Side Special - Slime Generator
Up Special - Bubble Monkey
Down Special - Fly Honey (sticks opponent to ground)

Final Smash - Multi-Bottle Rockets (several fly in all directions exploding on impact anyone or anything they hit)

You must now exercise on highest intensity to beat it.

Okay, so I was on the way to college and decided to try out the S-Pen on my Note 3 and doodle. I then thought why not try and imagine what the Animal Crossing stage looks like? Since it's my favourite series of all time, I decided to come up with an idea, which looks a little like this:

Ignore the bad drawing, I was in a rush and just came up with a simple concept for it, it looks stupid, yes I know before you all start saying so, anywhere here's the rundown:

- Roof of the hut would be accessible with a high jump
- Kapp'n's boat resides on the water, bobbing up and down, you can jump on this too, though too heavy and it could sink
- The island is sandy and has a curve to represent Animal Crossing's rolling log
- Palm trees are present, there will be more than two, had to be a small drawing, sorry
- The only "true" Smash areas are above and towards the sides
- Too much exposure to water can lead to a death
- Lloyd the Gyroid will be there, bobbing around
- The islanders can come out of the hut and spectate the fight

Main point is the curvature of the stage, which as I said represented Animal Crossing's rolling log effect. Any questions, feel free to ask, sorry for the pedestrian drawing.

I apologize in advance, if it affect anyone here.

Countdown to my assumed date for Nintendo E3 2014, since they usually go last out of three main companies lately.

I'm feeling so good that we are getting release date, few newcomers reveals, etc at E3 2014.

Yeah, I just remembered that E3 2014 is getting close, but I'm more likely to forget all about E3 by next week.

A bit too early for a countdown, but what eves.

So I've finally been playing The Wonderful 101. Before I wanted Bayo in but now I don't know if I want her or Wonder Red.

And we'll probably get neither.

Of course, it's too early. A reason why I mentioned E3 is that I forget all about E3 until today since someone mentioned that we only have 4 months to go. I'm very curious to see if they are willing to reveal intros trailer like they did for Melee, along with release date and few starter newcomers. Pac Man, Mii and Little Mac for E3 2014. BELIEVE :P

Edited: I would love to see Wonder-Red with few characters to form some kind of attacks.

"When planning the development of a new game, I always take a lot of care to discuss the concept and try to define it as best I can. For example, I like to think of Smash as a four-player battle royal action game. You'll notice that's a lot longer than saying it's a fighting game, because 'fighting game' is a completely different label. You can talk about a fighting game or an action game or a racing game, but as soon as you define your game specifically in those terms, you start limiting your creative range because you're thinking of the limitations of that genre. Perhaps the best thing we can do now is start with a concept rather than a genre. If we can do that, perhaps we can grow the whole idea a little bit."

Basically he thinks it more specific then a fighting game, it is technically one, but its actually its own genre to just be categorized as just a fighting game is what he's getting at.

Reminds me of great bay

You have a Note 3? I never knew.

Hmmm... as for the rolling effect it may not be so easy to represent it with a curve like that. The log in AC as you know if very much a vertical thing whereas Smash is a horizontal game.

Had it since November

Yeah, I get you, but it'd still sort of work.

For example, see Wild World's packaging:

It SORT of works.

Lol would be amazing.
