Super Smash Bros Wii U & 3DS Thread 4: New Year, Old Arguments

It will be fun kicking Lucario's ass with Mewtwo.
 
If Mewtwo is in the game, Sakurai would obviously save that announcement for a later time. It's going to make the bigger headlines. This guy knows how to troll. Not saying Mewtwo is in the game, but seeing Lucario getting a reveal first was always a given.
 
I'm actually really glad that Mewtwo isn't coming back now. If they keep relying on legacy then they'll never get new characters in. It's for the best that Smash Bros 4, along with Sakurai, moves on from the past and enters a new era. Keep crying, genwunners. Lucario is the king of the ring and Mewtwo is just a purple little dickhead.

But honestly. This is the first time I'm seeing:

1. People don't like Lucario? What?
2. People think Mewtwo's chance is done? What??

I could have SWORN people were expecting no cuts + Mewtwo!
 
I don't imagine any franchise getting more than 5 reps (since that's the current number Mario is at), neither Jigs or Pokemon Trainer are likely to get cut, and chances are that they'll be throwing a Gen 6 rep on the roster, so yeah, Mewtwo (and, by association, the rest of the Forbidden 7) are as good as dead at this point.

Ok, knee-jerk reaction over with. I still believe Mewtwo will return in this too.

Damn does he look goooooood though.

The main page of smashbros.com looks clean now. No space giving for another veteran "box" or newcomer "rectangle". Of course there will be more but it does exemplify the minimalistic look of the website now.

I love it. Never cared for him in Brawl but I'm all for everyone coming back. And he really does look way better now. The facial expressions give him so much personality. :)

I'm also interested to see how formidable his aura is now (where his damage output goes up with the damage he sustains).
 
So they're increasing emphasis on his terrible gimmick? Sakurai...

smashbros.com's layout is determined by your browser width. Try changing the dimensions of your browser window; the site will dynamically adapt to its size.
 
I like that aura is a bigger factor now. It seems like Sakurai is really making a point to diversify the way characters are best played. Rosalina and Luma is another great example.
 
Finally, another Pokémon character!

This was a bit of a treat for me. I have to move tomorrow and am pretty bummed about it, so it's made me a little happier seeing one of my favorite characters return.
 
Man, Sakurai really needs to get the Yoshi reveal out of the way.
