Games you remember, names you don't

Okay I had this early 2000's Mac back when I was a kid and I found this game on it was a 3D Platformer adventure game.

You play as a pill bug(roly poly) who wears red sneakers and you run around the grass, puddles etc... You platformed in the game and fight enemies, one boss was a queen bee if that helps... I NEED THE NAME

She says no, were there any other extreme sports games on the ps1 besides the "xtreme" games?

Not that I know of, but that's not to say there weren't! The first game in the series was named slightly differently as ESPN Extreme Games, have a look at that if you haven't already - aside from that I'm all out.

'Twas a sidescroller with a blue and gold submarine for DOS\Win 95. My father used to buy me discs full of shareware games back in the nineties, I really can't remember the name but it played real well, or so I remember. Not much to help I know ...

I remember playing a game on PC (I think) years and years ago, it was sort of a Diablo type game.

You started off in a cellar? A shit ton of rats to kill and you climbed up a ladder into a pub? I was thinking of Baldur's Gate II but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong.

Any chance it was A Bard's Tale? Your first quest is to clear out a basement of rats inside a pub/tavern. At least for the 2004 game of the name.

Nah wasn't that game, all I can really remember is it being like Diablo, as you'd smash say a vase coins would fall to the floor etc.

Looking for the name of a C64 game I played on cassette. It was a vertical driving game like Road Rash, but I'm pretty sure you couldn't attack from the sides. Your vehicle(can't remember if it was motorbike or car type) could only shoot forward(projectiles from its canon).

I don't think this was set in modern times or was a racing game. Not only did you have to shoot and be wary of other opposing vehicles. You would get these Black or Yellow(I think)balls(probably from these enemies) that come out of nowhere and destroy your vehicle.

I'm sorry my description is quite vague. I only remember those damn BALLS!!

Possibly Overlander?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYrk-wvRTZ8

There's not balls as such, but the graphics are blocky enough that some of the sprites aren't far off, particularly what I assume are roadblocks at around 1 minute in.

That's Road Blasters on C64, and those could quite possibly be remembered as "Black or yellow balls"

I think they're landmines, but don't quote me on that. Edit: Wait, there's pixel wheels on the bottom. Other vehicles, then?

I've checked both "Overlander" and "Road Blasters" and they aren't the ones. But both games have pretty much the the same gameplay and design structure to the game I'm looking for.

Thanks to both for your input.

Might as well give this a go.

I used to have this pc game that was top down 2d, much like old snes games. The game took place in a monastery and I think you were unable to leave it due to some boulders blocking the doors outside.

The action/combat itself was very zelda-esque and the name of the game was something similar to Klonoa.

Does anyone know the game?

I remember I had this demo disc for the PS1 when I was a kid and there was this demo I really enjoyed.

It starts in a top of some sort of tower? I think? And you're running down the wall and this giant stone head is rolling behind you, and when you Reach the ground the stone heads hits the ground and stops rolling and the kid looks back and the heads eyes glow and it stars following you again trough a forest???. The kid had a red sword I think? I don't remember well.

This one has been bugging me for ages and had no luck finding it. As a kid I recall an Amiga game that let you create a train track and watch a train run about it. The background was completely white, really basic graphics so might have been public domain and I recall being able to place the tracks in a complete mess and laughing as the train tried to interpret it and fly all over the place in several pieces.

Transarctica?

When I was a kid a friend of mine had this game on the MegaDrive which was a side-scrolling platformer of sorts - only the maps were endlessly looping.

It was ludicrousy fast (as I remember) and you and a friend had to collect ingredients (like fruit) and drop them into a pot somewhere in the level - which had different weird effects.

Only other thing I remember is that the levels had loads of rabbits in them - and the music was great.

Can't for the life of me remember what it was called though...

There appears to be a public domain collection with a game called TrainSet - GPD003 on this page - might be worth investigating further. The description fits yours pretty well!

build a train track and watch the trains go round!

That could be it, the name rings a bell. Looks like the game was programmed on AMOS, so probably home made by someone. I recall another game that may of been also AMOS programmed that was a simple colour-in painting game and one of the images was of the 3D characters from the Money for Nothing music video with an MTV logo.

It might be one of the Neophyte episodes, most probably Koplio's Story. I remember playing this way back and liking it. The monastery music theme has stuck with me to this day, nice tune. The games were released as shareware/demo episodes and Alien Soft planned on releasing the full game with all of these episodes together but they disbanded before finishing the full game. You can download everything that's been released from the dev's website.

That's not it. :(

fire and forget 2 ?

i really can't remember any other racing/shooting game on the C64, unless the car wasn't a car at all and you're talking about roadwars or cosmic causeway :P

Unless it's something like TechnoCop, but i guess you'd remember it if the game had sections on foot ?

fuck, Future Bike Simulator

is my final guess, if it's none of the above, your game doesn't exist :P

The vehicle could have been a motorbike(2 wheeler) type, definitely not outerspace or had any foot sections. Not these games either.

Thank you for you time and efforts. Much appreciated.

None of those games sadly.....wasn't a game that made the arcades either.

There was a mech game for PS1 I don't think I ever new the name of. I believe the second level took place on the moon and the third level took place in a giant tube followed by a boss battle.
It was fully 3d.

Any help would be appreciated.

Two games:

1) I want to say it was a Sega CD game. Top down, fantasy/RPG-ish. You could select a class like a ninja or a dragon looking guy. It was multiplayer because I remember us having 3 people on screen at once. I want to say it was called Dungeon Explorer but the only one I know of that is on the TurboGrafx and it isn't the same game.

2) On a PS1 demo disc, it included a couple import games from Japan. One of them was a game where you were a chef and had to do different tasks for customers. You'd be asked to chop vegetables or pour beer or something. There was a lot of thumbstick action involved. A good example would be like "Chop this cabbage!" or something like that and then you'd use one thumbstick to move the plate and one to bring the knife up and down. If you didn't chop it well, the game would get angry at you for being a crappy chef.

Pretty sure it's Ore-no Ryouri. Doesn't sound like that could be much else. It came on a Playstation Underground around 2000? I think.

Edit - Here's a video if you wanna check it out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opo_rMYKiJI

Worth mentioning that GAF's own chubigans has made a few games inspired by this series, including - most recently - Cook, Serve, Delicious! I'd actually played the earliler games before joining GAF, so did something of a double-take when I saw his username for the first time!

It seems Omega Boost.

This will probably not get answered but here we go. It's a fairly recent indie game, I think it was funded in kickstarter. It's a 2D side scroller shooter, Metroid style, but the main character has a blue suit kinda like megaman. Anyone?

Data East's Gate of Doom?

Gameboy game. Top down view. Kinda looks like Bomberman or Quirk. Peter Pan license. Has "Club" in the title, I believe. Played it once some twenty years ago. Might have been a dream. :)

Anyone?

Well, it doesn't fit anything else, but my gut recollection when I saw the mention of 'having Club in the title' was Solomon's Club, the GB version of Solomon's Key. I'm wondering if there's any possibility you're conflating multiple games, here.

Holy crap, that's actually it! Man, this has been bothering me for two decades, thank you!

Funny how scrambled my memory was..

It was mainly a lucky guess, but there were hints; there's not many games that have Club in the title on the GB, you do collect fairies in the game and the box representation of the player character does look rather Pan-esque:

...which accounts for you associating it with Peter Pan, and the gameplay is about destroying and creating blocks on a grid, which may be why you associated it with Bomberman

You may have been wrong in a lot of ways, but the clues were there!

I wanna say this was a PS1 game, but it might have been PS2. I played it back at my friend's house in like 2003, but the game was probably older. It was Japanese, I believe, and I think you were in dungeons and you fought monsters in it. I think the dungeon traversing was in first-person and I think you could summon other monsters to fight, kind of like Pokémon.
