Final Fantasy 7 Remake for Switch 2 – New footage and Director praises the system specs

So... here's another Creator's Voice video from Nintendo, this time around for FF7R Intergrade.

The director basically says that they're happy with Switch 2 performance and that it can run the game with no compromises, here some quotes:
The hardware itself has a lot of memory, so I think it's a very easy system for developers to create games for.
With the power of Switch 2, we can now recreate Midgard with full-specs

I think if someone is happy with 30 fps (eww) and it looks that clean or at least very clean on a 4K TV, there might be people that won't need another console.

Now, something that intrigues me... The game intro section is clearly running at 60 fps, but the rest of the footage is 30 fps so I'm not sure what's the deal with the frame rate in this game, will there be two modes? IDK both sections look identical quality wise, so maybe 60 fps cutscenes? That would be kinda rough for many people lol.

It's good for the more casual crowd that only has a switch, you really are getting a decent version of the game. For anyone else however, it's still a worse version of a game you've already played years ago so meh.

No disrespect meant for anyone that just wants to play portable, I get it.

SweetTooth SweetTooth right now:

Dude wants to hate on this.

I mean if you own an Xbox you still better buy the Switch 2 version

Is better than the PS4 version, and probably the best portable version this year.

I don't care about portability, I just remember Takahashi Tetsuya-sensei being kinda jealous of FF7R and wanting to do something like that and I'm here fantasizing with next Monolith game... Xenoblade games on Switch 1 were already graphically perfect to me, they just needed some decent IQ and frame rate (tho Xenoblade 3 is stable most of the time, and IQ is way better than DE and 2).

Whatever happening with the Switch 2 version of FF7R for me is a possible indirect picture of the next Monolith game since he's inspired by it.

The Xenoblade franchise is in another whole level compared to Final Fantasy.

This, OG FF7 was magic, one of my top 3 games ever… FF7R is another game completely made for everyone except the hardcore fans.
Maybe, but fans begged Square for decades to remake it. They already remastered it.

I will wait for the FF7 Complete Edition in 4 years or 6 or whenever before playing.

What's the original then, accurate depiction of history ?
A good narrative. Making FF7-2 a 3 part episodic series of games for $210 is milking the cow until it drops dead.

The last game might be good because it'll be all action and no filler.

The poor marketing of Remake because the fans and Nomura are both their own kind of idiot led to the games confusion on whether it was a Remake or a Sequel. It's hilarious in hindsight.

But they really shouldn't be spending millions of dollars on splitting one game into 3 parts and taking 10 years to make.

I have a Switch 2 pre-order. But a developer praising a system pre-release means absolutely nothing; they've praised the Vita and Wii U.

Vita was really impressive by that time and i think that Square skipped the Wii U completely… Square doesn't tend to praise consoles for no reason.

Although the game has been completed several years ago, you will see they are going to put it on a FUCKING GAME KEY CARD.

Yet all they've said is something we already know with numbers and footage to prove, you can see current gen version of games at lower frame rate and resolution, but with very good IQ due to DLSS so I can believe why memory is perceptibly plenty for devs on Switch 2, it's self evident

If they put Bravely Default on a Key Card there is no question they will do the same for FF7. Which BDFF is not a big game at all.

It's a PS4 game at its core.

It will run just fine (and look great if they implement DLSS). It almost looks like they are targeting 40fps (using VRR) in some of those clips...

If anything, Rebirth will be the "true" test of SquareEnix's optimization abilities.

I'm extremely curious to see if the backlash on these cards translates to actual lost sales for these companies. I hope so.

The Switch 2 specs are nice now, but what about 3...4...5 years down the road? If this last just as long as the first Switch its going to be rough.

Yes and also no, Xenoblade 3 looks way better than Xenoblade 2 as technology evolved and Monolith understood how to take more advantage of the console.

And Nintendo even managed to make an open world Mario game with changing environment at 60fps.

With DLSS and its updates, I belive we'll see a lot of miracle ports

Why not part 2 as well ? SMH part 1 is like 4 years old now who is a final fantasy fan and didn't play it because he was waiting for it on the switch ? Cmon now with these weird ass ports for easy quick cash. At least put the effort and release rebirth as well and start developing the switch version for part 3 along with the others

Probably by next year… Make no sense to release both at the same time.

I doubt it goes unnoticed at least. Every official Switch 2 video on youtube has top comments of people saying "fuck game key cards" basically. Whether it leads to a change remains to be seen, but personally, I won't support this. I play on Switch because there is still a proper physical support. Otherwise I might as well buy a full digital game on Xbox and have a better experience.

They did before with kingdom hearts bundle for all the series in one collection .

They could have released the bundle like they did on pc as well as stand alone release.

Charging full price for inferior 4 or 5 years old is a scam are this point. Same goes for cyberpunk no offence for anyone who wants to buy it

When part 3 comes out, they for sure is going to do that… For the next 20 years on every console.

Square already officially said no FF exclusive in the future… Also FF7R3 exclusive for Sony make zero sense at this point.
Yeah but if they signed the contract back in 2015, I guess they'll have to comply, and isn't the exclusivity window like 6 months only ?
