Ya gotta hand it to Dennis Villeneuve, not only did he have the balls to tackle a sequel to arguably one of the greatest sci-fi classics ever made he went and knocked it the fuck outta the park and dare I say it, made a better film...

Without him at the helm, I dunno man but with Amazon and their unlimited coffers not able to make a decent LOTR show, this has mediocre written all over it

Do we know who is the show runner is? That will tell us everything we need to know.

This will be the first big budget (I assume) post Jennifer Salke show, it will be interesting if Amazon is going to continue on as it has the last few years.

I loved Blade Runner 2049. Much more than the original. It was a bonafide classic right out of the gate and one of the best sequels ever made. Amazon will 100% ruin this franchise just like they did with LOTR. Or anything they touch. They have no taste. It's just a rich company with unlimited resources but without a creative bone in their body. A recipe for disaster.

He made a sci-fi epic to what was a detective noir drama in the future. Completely misread the original movie, I watched it and I don't remember a single thing. I remember every minute of the original.

He took a cracking story and expanded it perfectly, adding more depth and just fucking floored it with the visuals and tone, when I got my Sony Theatre Quads it was the first movie I stuck on, the soundscape is next level and I only stuck the film on to demo the intro and ended up watching the entire thing again, as much as I love the original this one was just so much bigger and perfectly executed... Thank fuck Scott turned it down, bet the miserable aul cunt regrets that one

Bladerunner 2049 was a very basic scifi story, I'm a little bit surprised it's praised as much as it is. But I greatly enjoy its vibe, atmosphere and visuals.

This is going to be straight trash though.
