People on the other side of the aisle would tend to hate Trump a lot less if he hadn't been stimulating and fueling a wave of hate towards his opponents during his three separate presidential campaigns. Hell, a significant part of his path to political prominence was built by him propping up a racist lie against Obama. What was the excuse for that, I wonder?
Even beyond that whole ugly episode, it's not like he was all about calling for peace, love, unity and against division, until everything totally changed the day he was first shot...no, that would be rewriting history.
There's nothing respectful about saying kind words towards RBG as a person yet trampling on her dying wish and rushing through a nomination at any cost, for the sake of gathering more power (although I suppose it's ironic that ACB, while still a conservative, has at least occasionally ruled against Trump and gotten nasty heat from his supporters, who have called her a "traitor" for doing so).
Honestly, if the dude had just accepted his defeat in 2020 with dignity, instead of with lies and denial, the political mood would be 50% less toxic.
This is a fallacy. One can argue that someone's actions are authoritarian or similar to fascist methods without equating that to a call for assassination.
Otherwise, whenever Trump or his colleagues have openly called someone a communist, a terrorist or worse, then....what exactly is that implying?
Then again, the hypocrisy of Trump calling out the "weaponization" of justice only to turn around and literally start doing that even harder is rather notorious.
