Too rich for my blood at this point in Genshin. I maxxed out at getting Arlecchino's weapon becasue of the scythe sfx that were unique to it. Constellation baiting with visual elements is a step beyond.

Finally finished all the quests. That was very long, so I'm happy Nicole held her tongue. Kinda weird that they gave her a telepathic quirk when no one else has proper lip syncing.
Anyway, it was good in making me care about 'Bina but it all felt for naught because we know she's not gonna leave anyway. I can't help but feel that a lot of this is a waste of time.
There's a lot of rumors out there as well. About Varka's kit, and some of the other characters. Apparently that loli is Amber's disciple, and she's a 4-star. Screw you too, Hoyo.

True, but the journey was actually fun/well written this time. I went into this patch pretty neutral on Columbina, but they definitely made her likeable.
She could have been our new 5* standard character at the least instead of the twink.

Very glad to see Fischl on the banner since I only have her at C1. I'm at 70 pity with 100 pulls ready so Columbina is 100% secured even if I lose the split and maybe even Ineffa when you factor up to 106 pulls in first phase. Though it would be nice if luck got some early wins and Ineffa's weapon, but prospector's drill is just fine if not. C2R1 Flins will be more than enough power with Bina & Ineffa both there as well.
For the future… who knows. Zibai will be strong but I don't need a DPS and she seems boring to me. She'll be strong with Columbina but Illuga is obviously her Aino and someone in the future will really complete her. Both her and Illuga have unappealing design to me and I just finished stacking Chiori and would get Navia on a rerun (likely a long way off) if we're looking for Geo. Besides Nicole who is very wanted, I might get Sandrone and maaaaaybe Varka but there are putting him with characters I don't have or have unbuilt.
So basically what I'm saying is I want to nab Columbina and Ineffa then get back to finishing my builds for a good while.
Side note: Finally got Sumeru glider so dendro team aesthetics got a boost, tho Tighnari actually looks best with the Liyue one. Columbina's glider is the that one to really be a strong upgrade for a good amount of characters I have. Inazuma & Natlan ones might be good for a couple characters but aren't a big upgrade.

Man, these 4-stars are garbage. They know people will pull anyway. Hopefully I can snag some Aino cons on the 2nd half because everything else is a loss.

Here's a 3D look at both new traveler costumes. I really like them a lot compared to the originals. Interesting that they exchanged color themes between Aether and Lumine.

Well, at least they're not all characters I have at c6, even if I won't use them for anything. I think Da Wei would literally die if he made a banner with Iansan/Chevreuse/Lan Yan as the 4*s.

Besides Columbina, for whom I've got enough pulls to guarantee, I'd also like to get my Fischl to C6 eventually since she's currently at C2. But we'll see how it goes, because I've had pretty mixed luck pulling multiple copies of the rate‑up 4* characters I wanted from limited banners.
Edit: This JP bro headed from Mondstadt to Natlan on foot and and the trip took something like 5 hours, lol.

Been stockpiling for a while, got 250 pulls available, off 50/50 with 40 pity. Might go for C1 Columbina if it seems worthwhile, otherwise will keep my stash for Varka and Sandrone.
I always wondered how long it would take to cross the whole map, though I wasn't crazy enough to try it myself. You'd probably add another hour if you tried to Furina yourself to Inazuma.

Damn, I guess I've got about two patches and a half to save for Nicole, and then Sandrone the patch after, since those are the units I want to pull next from the Nod Krai cast we've seen so far in the story.
Posted this screenshot in a different thread, but I was doing commissions for the first time in a long while, and the lighting hit just right at that moment, so I had to grab this shot.

Ughhhh she looks so cool, I want to pull for her! But I have ZERO nod krai chars (besides the smol 4* we got for free) so in order to get the best out of her id have to pull ineffa and wait for lauma or pull for zibai and illuga. And those geos don't appeal to me at all. Whyyyyyyyy lol

She's actually the most friendly Nod Krai character, she can enable any Lunar reaction just by being in the team. The only bonus you miss on her kit for not having 2+ NK characters is that the range on her AoE Hydro pulses is a little bit smaller.

Obviously Ineffa or Lauma are insanely good with her, but not strictly necessary.

From what I've gathered, Columbina isn't strong enough by herself to justify pulling as your only Nod-krai chara. But pair her with Ineffa, and you get a very strong and flexible core. You can use them with Chasca, Hu Tao, Clorinde or whoever else you like, really. Pretty (cost) effective way to get some lunar reaction action on your account.

Btw, I totally missed this pre‑reg web event, so in case you're like me, it's super easy to collect all the shards as long as you've logged into the game and completed the latest Archon quest, etc.

Ok that video was helpful. It made my previous belief that NO nod krai characters isn't *completely* useless lol. It's still not preferred, but it's not "useless". Hmmm decisions decisions.
Yeah I had seen beta leaks of older chars like Hu Tao which piqued my interests. If I end up pulling, it won't be asap, I'll prob wait to get some more impressions from people who aren't using her optimal teams.

Yea the Lunar Crystallize reaction doesn't even (currently) have any other NK members that can use it, so slotting Aino in there and some Geo characters can do really decent damage.
Reddit's having a pissfit because HoYo keeps eluding the Aether x Columbina stuff. The festival from the archon quest last patch, the 'fortune' about the lovers with the tarot cards, and now the recent trailer had the Aether stand-in puppet guy doing the lovers pose again with her.
I don't really care one way or the other since they're never going to take it any further than vague references like this, and she'll be gone from the story after we leave Nod Krai anyways, but it sure is fun seeing a bunch of mentally ill shippers losing their shit over it.

That went sooooo extremely well! Putting pulls for this patch into getting Ineffa's weapon now.
Edit: Weapon went Columbina's way but 50 pulls early, so now Ineffa's is guaranteed to happen off the pulls this patch.

The incredibly confusing order of quests is finally fully cleared up and you can launch directly into them including the seasonal things that just disappeared before. This will make it 1000x easier to play through what I missed chronologically so I know wtf people are talking about (was completely lost in Durin's story)

Just woke up and rolled for Columbina. Managed to snag her at soft pity (won the 50/50). But before that, I accidentally dumped a few 10x multis into her weapon banner before I even realized what I was doing, lol…
Welp, I got Ineffa's weapon… Still have the rest of the banner period to snag Columbina's, so we'll see how it goes…

Now the decision, either get her weapon for a substantial damage increase, or try to get the horsegirl in part 2. Normally I'd go new character > weapon, but the horsegirl just doesn't look fun or interesting to me, and her design is kinda boring.
One thing of note, we're actually getting our free 20 lantern rite pulls while Columbina's banner is still up this time, unlike last year with the Mavuika/Citlali banners.

Got Ineffa to 60 since I had a good amount saved to level someone. I was originally thinking of having her and Bina develop equally but now I see Bina's mats are all on the new map so I'll have it finish this story first. I finished chapter 7 and it is sooooo good!
Dottore is a great villain. Half sick fuck, half making good points! Also they are really doing well with Sandrone. I don't see them changing her too drastically. I like the different universal principles they are setting up. It not only gives a premise for what Dottore is doing but shows how the witches may be working things. But chapter 8 will have to wait for later, I have to sleep.

I like the neat little animation they used for the Welkin Moon when it switched to Columbina's portrait from the old one when I opened the store.

Oh man, I may have to rethink pulling for Ineffa and saving my guarantee for him then going for his sig.
But without Ineffa the only good Columbina team I'll have is Neffer. And Hyperbloom I guess.

Lost the 50/50 to Mizuki so I had to suffer through this awful banner. This is about the best time to lose the coin flip though, what with all the rewards coming up.
Decided to build my Noelle to mess around with Lunar Crystallize. Hard to say how effective any of this is without a fully built Columbina though.

I'm planning on trying Lunar Crystallize with Navia, Chiori (finally a use for her, still not sure why I pulled her to begin wtih) and Aino. From that video I posted above, it looks really strong and fun to play. But yea, since Bina's materials are all in the new area, it's probably going to be a while.

Yeah, Navia's a good candidate too. I've always wanted to complete my Noelle build so this is a great opportunity. Running with Chiori and Furina, which means I can free up Aino, Lauma and Nefer for a second team.
By the way, 'Bina's weapon seems best suited for on-field DPS or unconventional teams. Most seem to agree its impact is greatest with C2. I'd go for Zibai or save. Prototype Amber seems fine.

Damn, a lot of JP users on my TL already with C6 Columbina, so I went to check the iOS sales, and as expected, it's ranked #1 overall on the App Store, even though they're paying higher rates than on Google Play or on PC through hoyo's top‑up center and/or EGS.
Edit: Looks like it's also sitting at #13 in the US, which is a really high ranking considering that gacha games just aren't nearly as popular there as they are in JP, CN, or even KR.

I don't play Genshin anymore, but keep up with leaks and characters.
Since Varka's release I thought his design looked super good, but hot damn, those animations feel super slow to my eyes.

Yea he's supposed to be a lumbering powerhouse, based on what I see. We already have plenty of characters that do the "death by 1000 papercuts" thing, so I'm fine with it as long as the numbers are suitably big. Also since it's an animations showcase, they're not even trying to do any dash cancels or things to speed up the hits. It's just for the visual spectacle.

Maintenance came back at midnight and it is the first time I was truly hyped to go do the archon quest after the update is up. Man, I played only the first part and went to bed at 5am. Didn't regret it, as they did an awesome job building up Dottore as a despicable villain. He spent all the AQ evil monologuing because he knew he was untouchable. Best characterization and pay off for a villain in this game by far.

Well, since I don't plan on rolling on any banners until Nicole comes around several patches from now, and because I already had Ineffa's weapon and was very close to soft pity for Columbina, I decided to spend a bit and… got my first ever double 5* weapon pull in hoyo gachas
After that, I rolled a few multis on Ineffa's banner and snagged her as well (won my second 50/50 today), and I also got my Fischl up to C5! Really pleased with how today's Genshin gamble went, considering I ended up with Columbina C0R1, Ineffa C0R2, and Fischl C5, lol.

When the game warns you to make sure you have enough time, it wasn't kidding.
My screen recorder ran for about 4 hours, and I'm still in Chapter 8. Dozed off a couple of times so there's a couple of dead spots where it sits on a prompt for a couple of minutes. Had auto going. Rewatched parts and had no memory of them, lol. Called it quits around 4:30am... I stopped at the part an original moon goddess met bina. Liked the part at the beginning exploring the destroyed lab

My FGO reading experience. Not because the story is bad, it's just what naturally happens when I do a lot of reading. At least Genshin has voice work and dynamic poses/action scenes.
I'm going to start the story proper tonight, probably marathon it. I really wanna find out what happens before everything gets spoiled.

Someone added a test dummy with DPS calculator to Miliastra. Even has per character damage contribution and a reaction counter.
Can find it by searching for "test dummy".
It's great but you can't manage the party once you're inside, have to back out to the lobby to change party members and artifacts and weapons which a bit annoying.
With Columbina my Nefer team slightly outdamages Mavuika now.
