Rick got shot yet he's at Michonnes bedside because she got punched a bunch.

Er, she got the complete shit beat out of her and was nearly killed. She couldn't even speak

Of all the things to go at on this show, I'm not sure that's one of them.

I absolutely LOVED that season finale.

Okay...It frustrated me at first with Sasha's artistic scenes which to be honest, I felt broke the tension. We all saw it coming so it didn't need to be dwelled on for so long, especially to the point where we HAD to see her pop the pill... I mean, c'mon, it was pretty obvious what had happened and as much as I love Abraham, every time it went over to him and Sasha I just wanted it to get back to Negan and Rick! It seriously broke the tension....BUT I still loved it, the last 40 minutes made up for the whole episode entirely and when Shiva made the long-awaited pounce, the goosebumps I felt....Even during Maggie's speech too!

Overall an incredible episode and I honestly think, a lot of people in this thread just watch it expecting to hate it and finding any reason to. It wasn't perfect and I would have done some things different but those closing moments, absolutely fantastic and Bear McCreary; he was on point. I hope they release a soundtrack for this season and I'll most definitely be back for next!

I'm out. This show is impossibly stupid.

Someone drop some comic book spoilers for me so that I'm not tempted to come back to this garbage fire. Gotta nuke this sumbtich.

edit: I spoiled some of it myself. That's really like whatever.

Iv'e finally reached this point as well. Where do I go to get spoiled? Which comic issue should I begin with?

But Ricks gunshot is okay?

Oh and I'm all in baby I'm ready for next season this show has me.

Edit: Guess I didn't feel she was near death or even close the show showed me her face got rocky'd that's it.

That's not actually true. Season 6's first half was the massive horde, Morgan's return, and the Wolves. Second half was introducing the Saviors, the Hilltop, the outpost massacre

Season 6's pacing was actually pretty great. This season was horrible in comparison

Whoops, My mind is a little foggy i thought Negan was name dropped in S5 season finale but it was actually S6 mid-season finale. I still count the 2nd half as his overall story even though he didn't debut till the finale.

Season 6 had multiple issues for other reasons (the ridiculously stupid Glenn stuff, the second fake "death" with Daryl getting shot, etc.) but I don't think pacing was one of them.

Watched the ending again.

More stupid things:

1) Someone was right, why the hell do the trash people talk like that?

2) I could have sworn I've heard Rick say "we had a deal!" at least 10 times since this show's creation.

3) Sasha is literally a zombie behind enemy lines and no one thought to kill her?

4) When she became a zombie I wish the iPod was still on her.

Corrections:

1) They did shoot at the tiger as soon as it showed up.

2) Morgan did pick up a gun after morphin' timing it out of a living person instead of just picking one up off the ground.

I liked:

1) You're all already dead.

2) Just the guy that makes spaghetti

Man I really dislike when this show gets goofy, and this is the goofiest its ever been.
The last 2, maybe 3 seasons were so damn good. But. Well the wait for next season won't be so hard at least.

I don't see this as being an issue really. The moment she popped out, the Alexandrians started shooting at the Saviors. It became chaos instantly.

But she walks arround still. She doesnt just bugger off to the woods right away with all the gunfire and people walking arround her. That would be the first zombie to do that.

The toned down gore is really obvious this half, too. It's not essential, but a lot of moments lose that punch when the show is known for it, and honestly when the writing gets bad the gore gimmicks are what I look forward to as a massive fan of Greg Nicotero's work (Who must be screaming on the inside). The tiger attacks especially looked really stupid without substance.

The show just doesn't respect the viewers' time.

Here's next seasons eps list lol
1. Negan and Rick prepare there people for war
2. Back story on Negan and trash people deal
3. The King Back story
4. Maggie gaining power in her town
5. Rick and Carl go out and talk
6 Negan starts to not trust Eugene
7. Tiger back story
8. Rick and Negan people are ready to fight - mid season final

I know this isn't a problem exclusive to The Walking Dead, but I just watched the Sasha scene on YouTube and these guns all sound like peashooters. They don't feel powerful AT ALL.

the morgan episode didn't need to be 90 episodes, nor did it make sense for it to come right after the glenn dumpster bullshit episode, nor did the season finale need to be 90 episodes either

Really was just a bunch of scenes of people shooting guns in every direction, seemingly at nothing. Looks cool but ....

Meh finale for me, only good thing was an annoying character died, but not before dragging it out with prior memories of a man shed be shagging for 5 minutes.

2nd half

9. Skirmish that doesn't resolve anything

10. An episode about helping Maggie with her pregnancy somehow, need to go get pregnancy meds, again. Or they hear about a doctor somewhere who they go get to help her give birth.

11. An episode with Carl and Enid doing something

12. Eugene merely contemplating poisoning Negan

13. More Dwight backstory

14. Dwight and Eugene teaming up to contemplate about killing Negan

15. Plans come together to attack saviors at the sanctuary

16. Battle at sanctuary starts up but Dwight and Eugene manage to kill Negan and calm things down before things get too crazy

So essentially same as the last 2 seasons just with Negan dying at the end

If she went unnoticed then sure, but she was the star of the moment! The guy pulling her off of Negan could have stabbed/shot her. They were safe behind their trucks, one of them could have stabbed or shot her. After all was said and done, she was just wandering... they had to look for her. She wasn't attracted to the noise?

It kinda reminds me of my memories of watching that show dragonball z back in the day. It's like waiting 5 episodes for Freeza(?) to finally declare she's up to ultimate full power this time, and this time she ain't fucking around, this time.

What a "wow it's fucking nothing" finale, I could take the absurd amount of setup of it actually paid off in someway with a somehow satisfying ending, but Jesus Christ, the whole payoff for the season is that now Negan knows the kingdom is working with Rick and that Maggie is alive, big whoop. They didn't have to kill Negan or Rick, or anything super crazy, but... something. The only thing that really happened was with Sasha and I'm sorry but a character can only have a death wish so long before you really stop caring, like damn she's basically been on this bullshit since Tyreese died, and only took a couple weekends off with Bob and Abraham.

The heel turn with the garbage people was super expected, the only purpose they were ever going to serve was to either be faceless cannon fodder or to betray the group (both, in all likelihood), and what with all that talk about "we take what we want" like, idk, literally every evil group they've come across and making Rick do a gladiator battle with their Mad Max zombie, I don't see how anyone couldn't see it coming. As a side note about the garbage people, nothing else in the show has ever taken me out of it the way they do, there's all kinds of dumb shit with them like how they seemingly have a settlement wide dress code and the fact they choose to live in a landfill for no real reason, but what gets me is how they all talk like they've got a brain problem... Why? Even in the Kingdom it's only Ezekiel and it's just sort of his shtick that he plays up to seem more grandiose, it's not like he randomly has an entire settlement of everyone being all "yea verily" and shit. I brought up Mad Max for that walker they had, but it applies to the rest of them, the whole settlement seems like they walked right off the pages of scrapped Mad Max script.

Then that fight at the end was just woat status. It wasn't even poor continuity, it was a zero continuity cluster fuck. I thought about doing a point by point breakdown, but it was so incoherent it wouldn't even be worth it, if you watched it you know how bad it was.

They really need to think about restructuring this show, go down to 10 episodes so they can focus the narrative, budget, and overall quality, stop with all this bullshit season premier->mid-season finale->mid-season premier->season finale nonsense to milk hype. I'm sure I'll keep watching it because my Mom and Grandma like it and they use it as an excuse to get me to visit them and watch it, but man these last couple of seasons have been rough to get through.

The Coda and Maggie's VO and the imagery was the best part of the finale.

Everything else felt sloppy and haphazard. No sense of tension other than the Eugene moment right before hell broke loose, no pacing or understanding of space and clarifying who is where at given moments (people were outside, then not, then others just showed up...). Major characters lost in the random shots of people shooting as though they had, maybe, half a day to shoot it all and just went with generic B-Squad coverage.

Overall an ok second half, lacked some major punches though and way too much time with Morgan in The Kingdom which never felt large or interesting or impactful.

This exact scene with Maggie circling around the car and engaging the group she literally just left seconds earlier made me crack up. So fucking dumb.

I think it's pretty obvious they thought Negan was behind that car, or some random enemies, and were performing a pincer attack.

I don't care how cliched that was, it was fucking awesome.

I actually fist pumped and said "fuck yeah" when
Sheva nailed that guy
, grinned like an idiot when
Ezequel is all "ALEXANDRIA WILL NOT FALL TODAY!
and when
Maggie turns up.

So awesome. The ending monologue hit me right in the feels.

I enjoyed this season. I know a lot didn't, but I appreciated getting to know the different groups, their rituals and personalities. I was always hoping Negan, as a character and as a menace, was going to be a slow burner, so that never bothered me. Bring on S8.

TV Line - The Walking Dead EP Scott Gimple Previews a 'Fast-Paced' Season 8

TVLINE | This fight was pretty major — all of our regulars, plus Shiva. What’s the Season 8 war going to be like?

It’s going to be different. They aren’t going to meet in Alexandria every weekend and do that. There are twists and turns to it, definitely some small-scale things and some large-scale things and a whole different momentum to the story. Now that [the various factions] are in public conflict and everything is on the table as far as everybody knows who everybody is to each other and what’s going on, the narrative changes a lot. It’s going to become a bit more kinetic and fast-moving, because that’s where the story is going. The content is definitely going to be determining the form.

I think it's pretty obvious they thought Negan was behind that car, or some random enemies, and were performing a pincer attack.

But look at where they're expecting someone to be. They can already see no one is there. And if there was they wouldn't be able to shoot without hitting each other.

Ofc trash people were trash lol

Saw it a mile coming. And Walking Sasha was pretty clear as soon as you saw the coffin.

But damn I still love that show. I was just happy that Rick and Co. got saved in time. Another Season 7 Episode 1 would've been too much for me to handle. Fuck you Neegan, you brutal bastard. His name is my new swear word everytime when I take my daily cold shower haha

I'm out. This show is impossibly stupid.

😂 Exactly how I feel. What was the point of this season? It moved so damn slowly and didn't accomplish anything or move the story forward. The Kingdom was so telegraphed seeing as they didn't show them at all after their scene much earlier in the episode. Show is getting so damn predictable.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that

That makes sense given the arc. The comic double shipped during the back half of the All Out War arc too. Really isn't much room for slowing down.

I thought Season 6 Part 1 did a good job of keeping the momentum going for a nice spell. So they're capable.

And y'all need to stop lying to yourselves. You ain't dropping anything. You'll be back in October sure as pumpkin flavoring and skimpy costumes.

I overall agree with the placement of the Morgan episode but the dumpster shit was an embarrassingly awful decision that hurt the show to this day, in my opinion.

I had no problem with last year's long finale though. To be quite honest, I 100% believe that if that episode had ended with the Lucille scene that we got in the premiere, it would be viewed as the best episode of the entire series.

I thought the slow build-up and tension in that episode was near perfect, only to be absolutely ruined by one of the worst storytelling decisions in television history.

bruh, I wasn't lying last year, and I ain't lying this year

Yes, that dumpster shit was some fucking stupid bullshit BUT, if they had just revealed Glenn still living the following week, I wouldn't have been as annoyed by it. OR, if they just ended the cliffhanger scene with Glenn falling into the pit (instead of also showing him apparently getting eaten), that would've been not as bad too.

IF they had ended the episode with showing us that it was Abraham getting killed then yeah, I wouldn't have been bothered by the length of the episode. but the fact that they made another unjustified cliffhanger, made the length of the episode unfulfilling.
