‘Grounded 2, even in early access, is one of the best survival games I've ever played‘ - Out on Gamepass today!

It's pretty good, if you enjoyed the first it's a no-brainer. Survival/crafting stuff is not something I usually enjoy, but these are good games.
How did we arrive at Obsidian producing trash tier RPGs but A tier crafting sims?

What is it exactly? Can i play it alone or is it multiplayer only? Is the Singleplayer (if there is one) good?

It's a survival/building deal, but there is an overarching story and it can be done single or multiplayer.
1st or 3rd person camera and a lot of options on how to set up your world/difficulty level.

Grounded 2 Tops Original Game's Steam Peak Concurrent-Players Record Within An Hour.
It might be called Grounded 2, but the new game is flying high so far on launch day. That's because the sequel has already topped the all-time peak of Steam concurrent players for the original. In fact, it didn't even take a full hour to break the record.

Jeez the heathens on here. Forget PC Gamer, it's a bollocks site.

Grounded is one of the best survival games of the past five years (and my own favourite co-op gaming experience since the Vault of Glass). Its sequel has just released in early access, but the initial available content and game world is reportedly a bigger environment than the whole of the first game's yard! I'm exploring it tonight and it's frickin' amazing.

Imagine, "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kanas anymore" in video game form and that is the most succinct description you're ever going to get of Grounded. That, or Honey I Shrunk the Kids: The Horror Cut. Obsidian's best franchise (and whisper it... their greatest ever game).

Grounded is probably one of the better, definitely original, survival, gathering and crafting sims out there, but I'll wait with buying the sequel, because Steam reviews is full of complaints about the performance.

Won't be able to play until tonight

What's the changes from 1 you've already noticed?
It's not that there are any major changes; the core gameplay is the same as G1. But now you can see how everything is more "organized" and fine-tuned (and I'm referring to controls, UI, crafting, combat, etc.). And all with the inclusion of new mechanics, more creatures, more variety in environments...

It's clearly the difference between a game made by 20 people and a risky project (Grounded 1) and that same project made by a much larger team of developers, also with the support of a third studio (Eidos Montreal). Even though it's early access, the production values, performance, and optimization are very good (playing it on XSX) and clearly benefited by the jump to UE5.

In short, if you liked the first one, this one will surely do so too. In fact, I think this one will attract new users more than the first.

PS. Music at the Game start is very great 80s

Yup, I typically don't like survival games much but Grounded and Abiotic factor I managed to play a lot in coop online.

First one is one of my favourite games ever but partially because I played the whole game together with a friend: there is so much detail and gameplay elements that make it a blast playing with somebody but I can totally see it as a great game if you decide to solo, but it won't be easy. My early impression of the second one is that this very much the same game just bigger and more confident.

So I played a few hours, this apparently has everything the original had, but with a new a map and mounts.

So my quad of 4 are now riding around on soldier ants, which early on give you a huge boost in mobility. Outside of that the early game feels much the same as the original. Getting some tier 1 sets and handful of tier 2 stuff we are now working towards.

Its just more grounded with the promise of it being expanded on for years to come, essentially its like grounded season 2.

I was actually keen to try this out with my girl, but she hates spiders lol
There was an Arachnophobia mode for the first one that did away with the spiders, I don't know if its in this one or not though

Worth looking into if you have Gamepass and it doesn't cost you extra

Mounts change the whole game wow (for the better imo) definitely enjoying this more than grounded 1 so far (and I loved that one)

Looks great but its for the younger folks
Grounded 1 is by far the hardest survival game I've ever played and its not even close

Me playing the game single player was harder than most souls game I beat. It can make DS1-3 seem easy at times

This game is shockingly difficult

having fun with this so far. Glad the map is better than the first, but really wish there was a more detailed map.

it's a great game but I eventually quit due to difficulty

Been wanting to get back into it

Really excited to dive in tonight
same exact thing with me. First one was so hard...and by the time i was ready to get back into it the second one was announced

Never played the first but if the second comes to ps5 eventually like the first I'm down to try it.

I remember trying the first one and quitting because of the horrible performance and very grindy solo play.
Combat seems improved which should help, not that it was bad. But dodging feels amazing, I think they took notes from Avowed

Perfect block now has a really nifty animation too

Having said that I already got fucked up multiple times
