‘WALL-E’ Director Andrew Stanton to Direct ‘Toy Story 5’

Pixar Animation Studios is has tapped longtime Pixar director Andrew Stanton to direct Toy Story 5.


Pixar CEO Pete Doctor confirmed the news during a recent Inside Out 2 screening. The MontyVerse on Twitter was first to share the news on Twitter.


Stanton’s work includes writing and directing Finding Nemo and WALL-E; both films earned him the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. He directed his first live-action Disney film John Carter in 2012. Stanton would return to Pixar to direct Finding Dory, which grossed over $1 billion at the global box office. He also worked on Toy Story 4 as a writer/producer, which would also go on to gross over $1 billon.

at this point the movies are tech showcases as well. Toy Story 4 was actually a big upgrade from 3.
 
4 was great because it was clear the villain was modeled after Lasseter.
Never got that sense? How is that doll lasseter? Seems farfetched. Forkie being representation for lgbtq seems much less of a jump. Maybe youre thinking of 3, with lotso the hugging bear?

Only good thing about 4 was duke kaboom.

not sure where they go from here. Anything after 4 wouldnt have woody snd any prequel before 1 wont have buzz.

Toy Story 4 was meh. But it made over $1 billion.

I don’t think we’re the target market lol, remember how old you were when you 1st watched Toy Story 1 & 2?

Todays 8 to 15 year olds will love Toy Story 5
