Used to really enjoy the Oscars, would spend 5-7 hours crammed in front of the TV during the awards and midway presentations that were always entertaining
Now I sit through 15 minutes of the Oscars, and no matter what point I sit through it bounces between Political Hollywood Social Issue to Genuine Award Ceremony.
With the former taking up the premier time slot and given more length than the actual acceptance.
Then the Oscars became less about films and more about stuff not film related, whatsoever. As it stands, I'll probably tune in for about 5 minutes next year and the year after
and if films still take second seat to politics and social issues I'll never watch the Oscars Again.
IT seems people didn't get Josef Fares Message or what it really meant - Overwhelmingly, for most - an Oscars that no longer fully embraces and celebrates film singularly isn't worth our time.
Particularly as Gamers - as Gaming is obviously now the superior medium.
The Magic Of Cinema has long disappeared from Hollywood - it seems that there is nothing left but this decrepit rotting shell where the magic used to reside.
Even then... I feel the real magical issues, AI rights, Robot Rights, the end of entropy - these monumental issues will be fully ignored in the future by the Academy in leu of celebrating
the far more mundane and menial issues like appropriating wealth to the needy when that is an issue Hollywood should stay firmly out of.
