No Path Tracing? No Ray Reconstruction? WTF Is this an early access game or what is this shit?

Considering there is an article on IOI's site from March 11th that states the game would launch with Path Tracing.

That's a bummer. Hope it's getting PT, soon. It was THE reason I was going for the PC version instead of PS5.
Same! Even in the preview videos last week they said how it has all of those features..this was reason I preordered on steam .. fuck IO Interactive and their shitty marketing

I hope the ultra specs are not with MFG on... 4x would mean 50 FPS base.

Pathtracing in summer? So i guess they don't want people with high-end hardware to buy the game at launch, ok.

How quickly people hype for this game died down here.....graphics is king here.

New IP from developers that weren't making action-adventure games in the past. It's hard to be hyped when you don't know how good this game will... play. Not to mention studio might go into woke territory with it (like no time to die did).

But at least graphically it was a good looking new game, now with no RT/PT I doubt it will look much better than Uncharted 4 (from 2016) at launch.

I thought the point for going stylized graphics over resource hungry photorealism was to have more controlled optimization and larger scope.
The decision to delay beauty tech over release date is definitely a financial decision not a artistic one.

and will always be.

What a joke. I'm glad I have zero hype or interest in this game because I'd be really frustrated to know my experience would be compromised by missing out on such transformative graphical features at launch; a penalty for paying to play day one.

New IP, I get this game is not based on movies still using 007 IP which I dont consider that as new IP.

and will always be.
Thank god thats not the case for me. If it was I would have missed out some great games.

You are right, but gameplay structure and this version of Bond character will be brand new.

This game has been in development for so long that I'm genuinely shocked at how thoroughly they seem to be half-assing it. It was already a pass for me due to the game looking like shit (though it's fine visually), so I'm really just here to see what else they bungle.

The longer they take with this the longer it will take for them to get back to working on Hitman. I hope this game sells well but I won't be playing it.

Don't really care about path tracing being there at launch. I'm just concerned about performance in general. I remember the first showing being rough, making this is an easy "wait-and-see" type of game. I'm eager to play it, but I can wait.

Have you guys seen the PT videos? The character models looked completely shit with it on. I think we're good without it since the game was designed without from the get go. Hitman doesnt have PT and still looks wonderful to this day. You guys are a bunch of crybabies, but yes, you should always wait at least 6 motnhs before buying any game.

Why? It has a great RTGI implementation (and may be RT reflections as well on PC?). PC maxed out should look quite a step above last gen even without PT.

Suddenly I don't feel bad about paying this on ps5 pro at all. By the time path tracing is out, ill be done with the game and ready for phantom blade 0

The color of the lighting from the candles in the middle changes but it cannot be due to path tracing. The color of light from the candle is completely different and the time of day is different. Even look at the bottom right, the stanchions are missing. Another fake path tracing screenshot to exaggerate the differences.

I thought both RT and PT will be cut. If it's just PT and RT is competent enough (not Capcom style) then it's fine...

Of course it can be due to path tracing. Without path tracing, the chandelier's pink hue is not bouncing on to the scene. The chandelier is actually not even lighting itself up without it. So without the pink bounce, it would indeed have a different color

the time of day is different.
No it's not. The shadows cast are all in the same angle, which would change with time of day. All differences you are seeing lighting wise are due to multibounce lighting. Outside of lighting, other minor differences could be a matter of different builds. The screenshots are months apart.

I made this comparison straight from Sony and Nvidia's official trailers. And I posted it to say the differences aren't that big and that it already looks well ahead of last gen games. So I have no clue what you are on about.

Just PT and RR are delayed. It's gonna look fine, I think...

lol wtf is with gaf and this game? the game already has ray traced gi on consoles. on PCs, you will be able to push it even more.

since when the fuck did path tracing become a requirement? The best looking games out right now are Avatar, AC shadows and Crimson Desert. None of them support path tracing.

Besides, this isnt a Capcom situation where their original ray tracing implementation is garbage, and needs path tracing to make it stand out.

This thing with devs releasing incomplete games has got to stop. This is just validating my choice of not buying games day one or hell, within the first 3 months anymore.

Paying the most for the worst version of your game.
