007 First Light - PS5 Pro 60 FPS gameplay

Stealth missions are more open and allow multiple approaches, but some segments like car chases etc will be linear ala Uncharted.

Don't get why so many people are shitting on the game, it doesn't have class-leading graphics, but it wasn't designed to be because it has to run on a Series S (and eventually Switch 2). This is what 3P AAA usually looks like, you want better then go to SIE or even Xbox stuff.
So many takes in this thread are hilarious. This game will be great and will land in the mid 80's on meta. Im really looking forward to this since the reveal

Definitely not paying $70 for something that looks like crap to remain playable on series s or switch 2. Pandering to lowest spec machines=no sale.
I mean you can just not pay $70? Game looks quite good even though it's not Naughty Dog-level of visuals.

Well, too many companies are 'enshittifying' themselves so there's reason to worry, and the signs are there with DEI to be worried, plus some of the footage being bland or poorly executed or having poor performance. These have been pretty obvious tells up til now across the industry so everyone's frustrated it will happen here.

As for me, I've already mentioned here before that I'm not interested due to DEI, so it's a no buy from me. However I'm a huge fan of WoA so I will be following this not only up to release but also gameplay and streams after release.
What does DEI even remotely have with this game? Protag is a straight white male, no LGBT or identity politics of any kind were shown off in any trailer???

I actually predict >85 if there are no bugs or optimization issues. This game is pure normie fuel, my wife already asked me to preorder it for her.

One black character is enough for most of these people to call it woke so thats that...

Looks really generic and over familiar, nothing about this says Bond but it did make me feel slightly nostalgic for when everything was cover shooters for a while.

Seems to be totally lacking any of the charm, personality and panache you'd expect from a Bond game. Very confusing design and direction choices.

Low 70s.

I disagree that it looks low tier ps4 visuals because it has to run on S. I mean compare to Crimson Desert. Looks amazing on Pro, still released on series s and yes def looks like absolute dog shit there. I guess the devs using custom engines can release top tier graphics while others release average visuals.

Okay, I watched the trailer in the OP.

A lot of what happens would get you compromised in Hitman. If you want specifics I can break it down by timestamp.

But generally speaking, those fights are loud and fights and combat in Hitman, causes noise (duh), which sets off a chain reaction of panic and combat with regular NPCs and enemy NPC's respectively. UNLESS they are in different "sound zones" where sound can't travel past.

That fight in the giant room for the first 3 minutes or so would definitely have caused combat and panic in all difficulties in WoA, because that would have all been considered one sound zone for the fight noises to travel, and it's pretty absurd to see people on the far side of the room not reacting. Also the guy puking would have immediately gone to panic or combat too, depending on whether he was a regular NPC or enemy NPC.

As mentioned, I can break it down by specifics if someone gives me a timestamp, but yeah what's going on for that first 3 minutes wouldn't happen in Hitman and it's all pretty goofy to watch.

If this isn't the lowest difficulty for casuals, then LOL.

I also absolutely hate the fade to dark and black and white as you take damage. I'm going to be honest here, Uncharted series enrages me for that. All the lush colors and environment, and taking damage just absolutely kills the aesthetic and makes things harder to see. Just give Bond a health bar so I can still see the video game. But they won't and this will stay, and I still think it's enraging in every game that does it.

One good thing to see is the performance is solid now. I didn't see any framedrops in the second clip this time around.

Bond is white and British. England is white and British. Bond is a charismatic womanizer. The chain of command in this game is all not white and not British. This Bond is not a charismatic womanizer, he's only mildly decent looking, an obvious ripoff of Nathan Drake, and the personality of a dork. What IO is doing here is goofy and weird and not Bond, while trying to sell a Bond game. I won't be apologizing for stating what is blatantly obvious to the average person, and it's long past tiresome that people get offended about the obvious.

Notice I wasn't upset that Grace's superior in Resident Evil Requiem was a black guy? That's because my perspective isn't thinly veiled racism. I couldn't care less that her superior was a black guy.

This is using a custom engine. IOI has their own Glacier engine.

Just keep in mind that games frequently look worse on Youtube than IRL due to compression. This will almost assuredly look stellar especially with path tracing.

This looks like the most 7/10 game of the year so far.
007/10.
Someone had to say it.

I'm still in. Day one.

If I can't have a new Bond movie, I'll take a new Bond game. The next Bond movie will probably be immensely more disappointing now that Amazon are gonna fuck with it.

Too bad we will have to wait months for pathtracing probably.

In Hitman the field of vision was determined by the way the head was facing. The speed at which you'd end up compromised depended on difficulty setting, as well as where you were (legal, trespassing, or hostile zones) and what you were doing (how visible you are, and what illegal action you are committing).

If an NPC was looking at their phone, they won't see any illegal action you do unless you're really close. But if a sound of some sort distracts them then they'll look around or panic, in which case they'll see whatever is going on.

If I can see the thing you're talking about, then I can determine what's going on, and whether it's bad or incomplete AI, or intended, from Hitman WoA standards anyway.
I found it.

And that reminds me once again how I REALLY need to start with those Hitman games, meaning the reboot and then 2 and 3. I have them all but apart from just checking some missions out, never really sat down for it.

To Hitman WoA standards:
1. Bond was compromised, the enemy saw him and the compromise bar filled all the way. It was a front melee attack too and not a subdue so sound would travel both from the compromise and the melee attack. Would the sound travel that far to the other enemy? Not sure, depends on the difficulty and First Light's rules. But in OP's linked video, sound seems to not travel and cause panic when according to Hitman's rules it would, so either all the systems aren't in place, it's set to an easier difficulty, or First Light's rules are different for sound traveling. Gonna have to be a wait and see after release to see what's going on with that. Current indications are not good and immersion breaking for the video linked in the OP.
2. Guard 1 falls behind cover so wouldn't be seen by Guard 2 unless Guard 2 walks far enough to see him after the shown clip.
3. Unless I'm missing something Bond should have been compromised by the 2nd guard since he was in full view and no obstructions. Really weird that the first guard saw him but not the second. Even under the fastest of circumstances in Hitman, Bond was in the 2nd guard's FOV long enough to get the guard distracted and then investigate, followed by him finding Bond, and then since it looks like a Hostile zone and not just a Trespassing zone, the 2nd guard would then almost immediately start combat.

Really weird. The only other possibility I can think of is maybe that second guard wasn't given any sort of FOV yet. There were blind NPCs in Hitman in a few maps, maybe that guard was mistakenly given a blind tag or something. Isle of S'Gail for example had a woman playing a violin with a blindfold on near Janus' casket. There were a few others that I can't think of at the moment, but that one comes to mind immediately.

Hope it's simply a matter of difficulty setting, because I'd love for this game to have some really smart AI. Or at the very least have some challenge to it.

if you like dumbed down handholdy gameplay then I guess you're right
There's a difference between "handholdy" gameplay because of poor design (007), and the Terminator 2 like sublime (keep the cinematic blockbuster pace going) "handholdy" of an incredible game like Uncharted 2. A game that no one with a straight face can openly mock. Mainly because it shat over every single 3rd person game at the time, and all of them since RE4 in 2005. And like RE4, it's basically game design perfection. Nailed absolutely every area. Nothing since has done this.

It wasn't on Xbox though so I'm sure you'll disagree, as expected.

The series s has a gpu that's about 2x better than the ps4 with a cpu that is much much better. We had uncharted 4 running on the ps4 and it looks far superior to this.... The graphics are not the main problem. It's the gameplay and animation. It just looks so poor.

Also, you can't really call it "shitting on the game" if the criticism is true.
