007 First Light Gameplay Deep Dive Trailer

I was on the fence with this game, but I think this trailer has sold me. Looks like a great mix of Hitman, Uncharted, and what the cancelled Perfect Dark game should've been.

The Hitman-like elements will no doubt be amazing, but i'm worried about the Uncharted action-like parts, they just don't look great in everything i've seen.

I'm going to guess that this might be a difficulty option thing.

I can imagine 'hard' or 'very hard' difficulty not letting you do such things as easily.

It feels like we're getting way too many trailers for this game, lol.

Not that it's a bad thing mind you.

I/O is putting a lot on this.

Thought it had more focus on linear sections but all that Hitman-esque stuff looks cool and fun. Could be a cool game.

Looks fucking amazing, Day 1.

I NEED a linear game with set pieces, guns and stealth like this in my veins.

Will be a breath of fresh air after so many open world slogs with swords

I've always known the Hitman games were good and tried to play them but never committed to the loop you know. It's kinda hardcore. One error and you have to start over or be okay with just saying fuck it.

That's why I'm excited. I've SAVED this cool hard gameplay and never really got to fully experience it. I'm hoping this game will be what brings it home for me.

Edit: Also likely day 1.

when is it coming out on Switch 2? I don't see why it won't launch day and date.

You can save at any moment in Hitman and its the exact moment in time and all events that are saved, not a checkpoint, so you definitely do not need to start over or go with the flow. When you play on the harder difficulty you have limited saves (3), but I'd never recommend that for a first playthrough because it just limits routes and methods by adding more enforcer NPCs (the ones that see through all costumes/disguises).

The first time I play a map I wouldn't really save scum like that, because I just want to explore it all and see what events transpire from the global timers, to see how it all plays out. Then by the 10th run I would be saving and loading constantly to try and get perfect routes, the game is made for that.

Looking good. It's more game-y than I anticipated, which is great. Hope they give solid difficulty options as the gadgets seems quite OP if you can use them often.

And please, for the love of God, allow us to hide at least some of this clutter on console:

I see a lot of Hitman in there, and that is good. Mission repeatability with ranking for how incognito you can go would be good. I worry about the Gun combat because it is bad in Hitman.

It's a stealth game.
Hideo Kojima has done untold damage to the genre.

Interested enough to get this day 1. I was never into Hitman. And although I see some resemblances from that, I'm still interested to give this a 'shot'.

Wasnt properly on my radar but this is actually looking really good.

My backlog is gonna kill me.......I need a vacation that I spend doing nothing but clearing my backlog.

This looks worse than Uncharted 4, a 10 year old game. Naughty dog is really on another planet.
Honestly i feel like this is the entire gen. I was just thinking yesterday how Uncharted 3 has a sinking ship and we have to keep trying to get out of it...where are these setpieces?
I'm starting to wonder if i prefer graphics to stagnate like they looked during the late PS3/PS4 and we keep getting stuff like this than whatever is going on right now.

Games used to have better destructive environments, better setpieces, better animations...there was a special touch that we could find in most Sony games that we just don't get now even with Sony games with a few exceptions (like Astrobot).

Like...something happened. Forbidden West was worse to me from a gameplay and narrative point of view than its predecessor. Spider-Man 2 was worse than Miles and the first game. Ragnarok was worse than 2018 GOW. The exception at least froma. gameplay perspective was Yotei, which was a better game than Tsushima (story maybe not as well). And i'm talking about Sony games only but most IPs that have been here for a while aren't releasing their best games like COD.

Going back to your post this feels like an industry problem and not a 007 problem.
