I always liked Dead Prez's Hip Hop.

It's weird and not very clean, but I enjoy it.

But the again, I also enjoy dubstep, so I might not be the best judge.

Still, that list looks rather good to me.

They put Nuthin but a g thang before CREAM and TROY man.

Still it's a new York magazine company and it shows. I mean "What's my name?" doesn't even make it in the top 100 but we get 6 Jay-Z songs and you have All about the Benjamins in the top 10, c'mon.

Can't look through the list right now cause my internet is being ass so someone tell me, is Nas - One Mic on the list? Cause if not this list is a piece of shit.

I like their top 10, mines would be pretty different but I respect their list. All about the Benjamins was a good choice too, never felt like that bet got enough props. Making a top 100 list is hard, so many good beats out there that if they swapped most of their list I couldn't be mad. I don't know if I can name 10 definitively, but here's my top 10 ( for the moment )

10: Notorious BIG, Unbelievable
9: LL Cool J, Jingling Baby Remix
8: EPMD, You Gots to Chill
7: Diplomats, Dipset Anthem
6: Nas, Whose World is This
5: Dr Dre and Snoop Dog, Nuthin but a g Thang
4: Tupac, Ambitions as a Rider
3: Nas, Nas is Like
2: A Tribe Called Quest, Award Tour
1: CL Smooth and Pete Rock, TROY ( I'll probably change my mind on the rest of the list later, but this is my #1 choice for sure)

my list, but it changes on a whim so later it'll probably be different.

I always have mixed views when it comes to top 100 lists. There are so many worthy tracks to choose from you see.

I was listening to KRS-ONE quiet recently, and thought that it would perhaps be a more worthy track than some of the ones on there. It all boils down to taste though at the end of the day.

I can dig that top 10. No real complaints there. Love the mention of Juice by Eric B and Rakim. Of course love New York State of Mind by Nas as well.

edit: I like your list as well Computers. Nas is Like is so sick

Either Havok was using ghost producers or he was in his prime, but never did he replicate the banging sounds of The Infamous.

Yeah he only topped The Infamous easily with his sinister work within Hell On Earth.

HoE was prime Havok, no debate.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
Not the biggest hip hop fan, but I love how this list automatically links to spotify and plays the entire song right on the page, so I'll probably be checking this out for a while.

Actually, in terms of beats, Busta Rhymes/Flipmode always had the sickest beats.
FLIPMODE SQUAD - Where You Think You Goin'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnfkGdWoCvE&feature=related
FLIPMODE SQUAD - I Got Ya Back
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2Tm79Qy5Ag&feature=related
Flipmode Squad - This Is What Happens
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGq0houiLUk&feature=fvwrel

And on the subject of KRS ONE, this song is amazing. Not necessarily one of the best in terms of beat though.

Agree with most of songs on the list, just maybe not the order.

Also, I would put Deltron 3030 - 3030 in there. Fuck, the song's beat is just so epic, dat beat from Dan.

So many good songs on that list.

My favorites:
Camp Lo - Luchini
Black Robb - Woah
Camron - Oh Boy

Honorable mention (not on the list):
Styles P - I Get High
Gangstarr - You Know My Steez

Tons of good music there but the list is a little...puritanical. Out of all the hip hop made since 1995, there's no track with a better beat than "It's All About the Benjamins?" Really?

Complex does amazing lists but they're shackled to the worst fucking site. As if one per page isn't bad enough, you can't even flick through them quickly.
