13 hour plane ride, need DS games.

StoOgE

First tragedy, then farce.
So, going on an extended trip... right now I have a few DS games (Mario 64, Yoshi Touch and Go, Feel the Magic, Wario) and have just ordered Meteos and Polarium.. Im planning on picking up Advance Wars the day before the trip (if I get it now, I will stay up way too late and beat the thing before the trip) but was wanting a couple more games because this is going to be my only game console for several weeks...

Im looking at Bomberman, Zoo Keeper (its th3 cheap) and maybe Pac and Roll. Are these decent?

I dont really want Nintendogs (sorry puppies) so any suggestions would be appreciated.. luckily Castlevania comes out in the middle of my trip, so return plane ride is taken care of.

you've got meteos. you're getting advance wars and castlevania. you've got the ds library covered. run before someone persuades you to buy something stupid.

...actually zoo keeper is fun. you might as well if it's cheap.

Advance Wars is a good choice. Kirby is a great distraction, especially if you liked Yoshi.

And not DS games per se but if you haven't grabbed the Fire Emblems they are fantastic.

No you won't. I'm 27 hours through and haven't finished the campaign mode yet, and that's what I've been focussing on mainly. I'm sure there are many many more hours in the War Room and other modes as well. This game will last you a while. :)

Advance Wars is a great choice, if you can get a copy as well Ouendan apparantly is great, and Castlevania also.

edit: noticed you're picking up Castlevania whilst away, that covers that. :)

Yeah.. although it has been out-shone by Meteos now, only pick it up if you can get it cheap IMO.

From my other thread, I'd recommend Lost In Blue. Sure, it can be difficult to begin, but once you get going its quite addicting, in my opinion at least.

while I am here, is getting Jump Superstars worth it? A local import shop has it for 50, but Ive not seen any impressions.

Note: the games arent just for the plane ride, my DS will be my only gaming console for the better part of a month.. so Im looking for more than just a plane rides worth.

Yeah, it's worth it. I love the game, and getting a full translation is quite easy.

It's quite import-unfriendly. As in there there a lot of mini-missions through the game that have a lot of Japanese explaining what to do and how to do it, I wouldn't pick it up unless you have a friend with it and can play with them, or really are an avid fan of anime and want to play through the quest mode and will persist with the language barrier thing. (this is all assuming your japanese is not that great / non-existent.)

Advance Wars DS (seriously will last you for a couple of weeks)
Fire Emblem(s) for your GBA slot
Meteos

Couple others but those have a lot of play/replay value.
Kirby and Trace Memory can probably be beaten early on in your extended trip, so I don't know if you wanna go that route.

Kirby has decent replay value though, if you want to unlock everything. And it really is a wonderful concept and game. Much better than the horribly disappointing Yoshi Touch n Go.

DEFINITELY get Phoenix Wright. If you don't want to wait for the U.S. release, the import will play in 100% English. You already said you are getting Castlevania, which is the must-have DS title IMO. :)

Jump Super Stars is not for everyone. I would recommend trying it out if you are either a big fan of the Super Smash Bros. style game play, absolutely love some of the characters in JSS to death, or both. If you're just looking for a fighting game, stick to KOF EX2 or SFA3 on the GBA instead.

The great thing about Zoo Keeper is that it takes like 1/2 hour to play a single game, and you barely think of anything else the whole time.

Advance Wars is a smart choice, no doubt. Those two alone should eat up all the time you can throw at them. Castlevania should be a brilliant time killer on the way home.

Kirby's excellent as well, so get that. Bomberman's only great as a multiplayer game (though my newphew played against bots endlessly when I visited him this summer). Pac N Roll's definitely good. The control works better than I expected. If the concept appeals to you, it's worth a shot.

Also, I really *like* Yoshi Touch & Go! :-( Everyone else hates it though, so take their word on that one, I guess.

Star Wars Episode III is a really good beat em up but you probably wont get more than a couple hours out of it. Underrated game IMO, and I dont even like starwars.

Advance Wars, Kirby (the best 2D platformer since Yoshi's Island), Bomberman, Nanostray if you can find it.. You got a good number of them already and you're getting Castlevania.. so you're fine.

Good choice on Meteos and Polarium. Those two alone should soak up quite a bit of that plane trip. Also, as others have mentioned in this thread, Phoenix Wright is a must. Very fun game. Though you are getting Advance Wars before hand, so you don't really need to worry about playing anything else. ;)
