it's really time for non 90s shows to be shown the door. courage is next.

looks like reboot's on the way out too, but man it sure lived a lot longer than i expected.

I really feel that the priority for 90s-ness can't be stressed enough, so I agree.

i think it and courage should be expunged from the voting, and replaced with the critic and king of the hill. those two would have made it this far anyway, and you can save those other shows for their proper decades.

Top 2:
SBSP: 20 kills 5 saves (Will live on in the 00s rounds)
South Park: 13 kills 1 save

Top 5:
Reboot: 18 kills 11 saves
Doug: 10 kills 6 saves
Dragonball Z: 3 kills 1 save

Kill: Doug- Fucking Darkwing Duck is going to make it to the finals isn't it?
Kill: Doug- Will try DD again next round
Save: Reboot- it's pretty good I guess

It's too late for that now without people calling shenanigans. I think people would have said Ren and Stimpy would have made it to this point as well, but here we are.

Doug is decent, but its first couple of seasons are rough. Reboot helped me so much already.

Sorry Reboot, you were alright, but never that special. I've explained my love for Doug quite a bit already, and feel there are still several undeniably worse shows on the list.

If "non-90s shows" was really a concern they should have been killed early on.

No objection here. Did you see what happened when Weekenders was contested for that reason?

I think the stakes are higher now that we're down to the top twenty. True 90s shows need to outlast the outliers, imo. It's part of why I requested everyone post their ages when voting earlier.

If "non-90s shows" was really a concern they should have been killed early on.

some stuff was targeted early so they wouldn't become big forces later, like freakazoid and ren and stimpy. as for others, i think it speaks to their quality that they were knocked off in favor of non-90s shows.

i think it's hilarious and appropriate that catdog was the first casualty.

Kill: Courage
Kill: Courage

Save: ReBoot

It's time for Courage to die. Aside from the fact that it barely constitutes as a 90s show it was a shallow show. Same premise with no development and poor humor. With better shows like ReBoot and Ducktales on the block that actually had story arcs I think it's time to put Courage down.

KILL:Reboot

SAVE:Animaniacs

I'm not voting to kill because I think "it's time" as some are voting, I understand it was groundbreaking according to some but it just never drew me in. my brother would watch it religiously but not I.

How do you guys feel about a wildcard/Last chance round?
It would be a part of a regular round when we're down to 12 shows.
You would nominate 1 show off of the dead and killed list that you strongly feel should be back on the list. Top show gets a top 11 spot.

i don't think you can say with any certainty that those two shows would have made it this far.

Ren and Stimpy. TIME TO CORRECT THIS TRAVESTY, GUYS.

Ehh, I'd rather keep going without the dead shows. We did kill them for a reason.

can we vote for a show from the 90s that should be there that isn't? because if so, i'm voting king of the hill.

also a good point. if this was going to be a thing, it should have been included in the rules from the start.

Doug's not up to par with a lot of these now IMO. And I always think of Duck Tales as 80s so I have no qualms with it leaving.

You really want to bring back SB!

It's a neat idea, but I think it'd backfire. If a show recently voted off was contentious, it's likely to return in that vote. I kind of like voting a wild card back in, though, mainly for King of the Hill and Ren & Stimpy, but maybe it needs to be handled a certain way.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Cause I know you buttheads would revive Ren and Stimpy given the opportunity.

I agree that Duck Tales was more 80's. As for my thoughts on Doug that's a more larger issue that I don't want to get into.

I agree with this. There's enough fighting to come for the top 10's and adding yet another fight over shows we've already killed would be a little extra fuel on the fire.

I think Ren and Stimpy would probably win it anyway, considering how many times it was near death before finally going down.

Joining the fucking Reboot train.
Kill my Spongebob will you? Fucking show.

You already helped throw a dagger into SWAT Kats, so you really shouldn't be too upset.

I saw all of Reboot when it aired on Cartoon Network when I was a kid, and I can't remember anyone I know caring about it at all.
There's your problem right there. I'm assuming most people who watched the show originally watched it during its run on ABC Saturday mornings. It's where I fell in love with it anyway. Daemon Rising airing on Cartoon Network was for me and mine that watched the show back then and were looking for a little closure (though we didn't get it).

I like all of these shows, but sacrifices must be made to save a show as good as ReBoot. You guys are crazy to want it out this early!

I can already tell what the two of us would be (vainly) trying to save in the 2000s voting thread.

HEADLESS CLOWWWWN!!

Wow, I'm not a fan of Spongebob, but I didn't see its death coming.

Anyway, on with my Rugrats killing agenda.

Kill: Rugrats
Kill: Tiny Toons
Save: Ducktales

Why do people want to kill a sweetheart landmark series like Ducktales. You guys are mean.

hold an 80s cartoon survivor and i'll make sure it gets to the top 10 alongside the new adventures of winnie the pooh and the real ghostbusters

Yup. Ducktales is top 10, easily.

1. C.O.P.S.
2. Jem
3. Transformers G1
4. The Real Ghostbusters (dat Jeanine gets witch powers episode tho)
5. Winnie the Pooh
6. Inspector Gadget
7. Ducktales
8. G.I. Joe
9. Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers
10. BraveStarr

Wow, Spongebob actually got voted off.

Courage's first season debuted in Nov. 1999, so it should go on the same premise that Spongebob did. :P

Well, that will certainly be the last round where I don't particularly mind that either show got the boot.

It was a tossup, either aim yet again at Courage for the crime of not existing in the 90s, or start putting attention at Batman Beyond for being the least good of the remaining superhero shows.

Were the Tiny Toons in their late teens and in college? I know there was a big distinction between Plucky as a toddler, regular Plucky, and Daffy.

Ah. So Acme University is more of a prep school. Makes sense. Watching as a kid, I figured university = college = full grown adults, but the characters all seemed like kids (although not as young as in something like the Muppet Babies).
