1st Revolution pic

I believe revolution will be comparable to the other consoles but I don't like the 'modesty' too much anymore. They'd be better off witholding comment rather than implying that their console is weaker than the competition's. These things tend to stick. GC was weaker than the PS2 for half its lifespan...

The pic is big enough for me to comment on the design.

if sony hadnt brainwashed all of you last night with their CG the revolution WOULD NOT look bad spec wise. the x360 was already quoted as being "too much" and then sony just took everyone into "what if" land. Its still unclear wether sony can launch ps3 boasting the power they claim at a reasonable cost. Its still unclear wether the ps3 will come anywhere close to their demos or if they just had better artists than MS and were able to make the demos look better than what MS showed. I still dont buy ps3 being that powerful and i dont buy GC being that weak. They will all in reality end up producing very similar stuff IMO.

Very well then. Based on that small pic, Revolution looks like a UPS power backup unit to me....

Edit: Ah...now I can see it better; I like it! Sleek, minimalist, love the slant and glossy black on white theme. Holy Shit it's tiny!!

Yep beautiful

I think I prefer the PS3 still. Better than the 360 though. I can definitely see the zip drive comments, and the size is remarkable.

Remarkably good showing for all systems when it comes to design for possibly the first time ever.

if they got the power of the other two in a box that small I'd very impressed. I'm still hoping they do despite the 2-3 times comment.

Cosmic..that was supposed to be 'isn't big enough'.

Having seen the larger ones an 1up,I'm sold.

It's excellent!

Also, the logo seems to have that blobby 'R' that we saw in the trademark concept scan.

I guess it was real. :p

I think Nintendo knows they will be super-fucked if Revolution's power isn't at least equal to the other two next-gen consoles.

spec:

Broadway CPU: IBM PowerPC @ 1.2 GHz
system bandwidth: 5.2 GB/sec
30 Gflops total system performance
memory: 128 MB 1T-SRAM
Hollywood GPU: ATI Clipper - 8 pixel pipelines. 2 vertex pipelines

( i made these up but i'll bet you this is about what Revolution will be )

no way, or nintendo are screwed.

I got to say it again, that design is fucking stunning. Never really hit me till I saw the high-res pic then BAM!!!

That's absolutely tiny. Looks really slick (though it does lack some distinctiveness) but I wonder how much hardware they can cram in there? If it is underpowered, they are in trouble.

looks like ill be picking this thing up... only problem is so far nothing seems revolutionary about it. OMG you can pay for MORE old games. viva la revolution! :lol

Shit. That's fricking sweet.
It's like a badass Mac Mini.
Wow.

360, yet again, is the ugliest looking console this gen.

Yes.. because... we know exactly what about it?

Nothing.

I really don't think they do. Whether that would be the case or not. Nintendo really do believe in new ways to play over graphics.

Truly the New Sexy. This has to be the best looking console design of all time (though I like the PS2 and 3's design a whole lot). Love the slate black color and the shiny blue light in the game slot. Hard to believe this is from the same company that made the DS, N64 and US SNES. Hopefully it'll be comparable in power to the other next gen systems, at least more powerful than the 360. And hopefully every game won't be shoehorned to work with whatever "innovation" Nintendo has come up with.

Due to the nature of these new systems, they are all going to be a centerpiece of somebodies HD home theater setup. It's surprising that the nintendo box and to a lesser extent the PS3 actually fit with anything that would aleady exist in a HT setup. The 360 is so PC like and white. That's like me sticking my off-white pc tower right up in the middle of my home theatre. It looks stupid and out of place. And no Xtreme faceplate will make it fit.
