1Up Yours (6/29/07)

Shane- doubtful on third party Wii performance at E3 :(

John- Some interesting stuff coming for Wii from EA. No big third party games shown, but maybe some announced.

Actually, Ryan more or less confirmed a 360 port in a previous podcast himself. However, let's not derail this thread, please. :lol

Yeah, I'm not saying one way or the other. I'm just establishing that Shane won't be the one to announce it. :)

Hmm, I didn't even realize that the Rainbow 6 map pack was removed from the marketplace. I was able to download it, hopefully it won't kill my system or something to that effect.
It should have been free, that is why it was taken down.

1UP Yours reinforces my hunch that Geometry Wars Galaxies DS will turn out better than Geometry Wars Galaxies Wii. Bad controls and a bad price do not a Geometry Wars sequel make. Also, I completely forgot that we might see Bizarre's Geometry Wars sequel at E3 because PGR4 is right around the corner.
That's a good thing if the content is there in the DS version as well, the game will be cheaper and portable.

That's basically what I'm expecting. If they're actually taking the Wii seriously, then it would be too early to have anything substantial to show, so they'll just stick with annoucements.

My SOCOM thread was finally discussed. They did a great job and showcasing the SOCOM fan's point of view.

That's what I'm worried about. The DS will really have all the same content as the Wii version?

whoa, wait, "Halo Chronicles"? I have never even heard of this before, when was this rumored to be in development or even in discussion?

I'm also pretty surprised people have been ignoring Socom, I can't wait to see how it plays at E3.

I can't wait to see everything from Sony they're sure to deliver at this E3

playable Socom
Warhawk
Lair
Unreal Tournament 3
Heavenly Sword
New Ratchet and Clank demo
New Uncharted Level
Maybe Gran Turismo
Maybe MGS4
KILLZONE!!!
Hopefully playable Burnout
And some Surprises hopefully!

How is garnett able to come up with such good segues and yet be neigh-on incoherent in regular conversation?

Anyone have any idea on what THQ game for Wii they might be talking about?

Great discussion about the maps in SOCOM. Maps were so dimensional, that's why the game was great. Here's hoping that Confrontation will live up to its predecessors, namely 1 & 2.

They should replace Shane with AltogetherAndrews. He's a better writer, and he backs up his opinions better. I have a hunch he's also better looking.

They should keep the booze away from Garnett.

I just conjured a wonderful mental image of Garnett walking into the recording studio all like "Alright guys let's get this podcast thing going" only to have all the 1Up staffers look back at him and tell him that he's in a safe place and that they're his friends.

Ok, lots of yummy predictions in the 2nd segment. They all seem confident that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be playable at E3. Also, Banjo Kazooie 3 will only show up in trailer form.
Too Human will only be a trailer too, according to Shane. Bryan thinks it won't be there at all.

Gears of War 2 will not be there at all. Look for it at X07.

Mario Kart Wii almost certain.

ZoE3 is not likely. =/ 2nd Kojima game coming for x360; it's not MGS4, but that is likely to come later (Shane has changed his tune, it seems).

hopefully not true but if it is hopefully it's all in-game gameplay

Garnett is hilarious. "It's easier to work on PS3 than PS3." Just a slip of the tongue, this time.

:lol

I love how they went straight to what they've been playing like only a minute in.:D

Am I the only one that found it interesting that they completely avoided talking about Halo during the E3 segment? The only time they mentioned it was with relation to the way Sony is positioning Killzone.

What's to talk about?

"I have a bold prediction: Halo 3 will not only be at Microsoft's press conference, but will be playable ON THE SHOW FLOOR. Furthermore, I'm calling right now: September release date. Bank on it."

I think that may have something to do with EGM being embargoed.

But does that preclude them from saying anything about the game at all? I'm thinking incredibly broad statements here.

they probably could have said something extremely broad, but probably felt it was best if they just kept quiet until after the date Bungie set as the embargo was up.

Good show but too bad they didn't get to play SS:HD, would like to hear what they think of it since I think it's the only PSN game really worth buying.

And if Shane is playing HS then they better ****ing release a demo on the network soon* (as in for ****ing E3)

Also why the hell did they not talk about the European repair company halting repairs on 360s due to the design flaw and instead go with the "circumstantial evidence" story.
