Gotta give your boy credit, rookies always dominate us, but the kid had it going. Oh, and enjoy that first round playoff exit. :)

we'll see about that :)
Magic number is down to 17. and:

"for the 24th time in 25 games, Chicago starters allowed two or fewer walks. "

that's impressive

Of course he does. If he can get to 600 hr, he'd have a better case for the HoF. Shame everyone hates him now.

His case CAN'T get any better. 3,000 hits and 500 HR.

This steroids thing might have killed everything.

nobody is going to sign Palmiero. Not only because of the steroid thing, but because he has sucked ass since coming back. Maybe its because he can't roid up anymore, but whatever the reason, he's done.

But what about his Jedi powers?

Bah, that's BS. There was a strong argument tearing his case down. Not saying I agree with it, but it was there. Consistency, I feel, is impressive, but I don't know if I'd vote for him second ballot even (I would not first ballot). Plus he's a lying cheater, so, you know.

If he can't get in with 3,000 hits and 500 HR, he can't get in with anything. That's all I'm saying.

On a side note, Astros up 4 to 0 against the Phillies. Astros have a 9 game winning streak against the Phillies extending to last year.

Astros just seem to have the Phillies' number. Turned a triple play with the bases loaded last year that sparked a huge comeback and basically the entire miracle run.

I want the Phils to nut up and beat these damn Astros. I don't want the Astros to make it to the postseason- their pitching scares me.

Well they seem to be beating us by having our players get injured. The score is 4-0, but Ensberg left from a HBP on his right wrist, and Andy was just taken out early, which might have something to do with a ball that went off his body....=/

Holy, what an ending. o_O.

Dumb baserunning by Kata cost the Phillies at least Extra innings. Then Endy Chavez fouled off what would have been a wild pitch also cost a tie.

Who's going tomorrow? Roy?

I just noticed that the Giants have 7 games left with the Padres. Barry comes back, leads them to the pennant and then becomes the first ever MVP to miss the entire season, save 2 weeks. :D

To be fair, that was all on the 3rd base coach.

Roy is indeed going tomorrow. Then Backe! :)

Kata took a horrible turn at 2nd base. That was PART of the reason that he didn't score. Also, the 3B coach should have scouted Biggio's arm, and there's no way he throws out the somewhat-speedy Kata at home, unless it's a perfect throw/catch/tag.

*ahem*

The Indians have a better chance of winning the Central than the Giants do of winning their division. (Whci means: NONE)

I about laughed my head off when Kruk said the Giants might have a chance to come back now with Barry in the lineup.

Have u been paying attention to how the N.L Worst teams have been playing all year. Giants absolutely have a chance at winning the division, everyone seems to go on 4-5 game slumps and almost all games left are against N.L Worst rivals. :lol

Barroid will save the Giants!

So close, I can nearly taste it. The Indians crave, need and deserve that wild card spot.

I'm pullin' for you guys. I really like the young squad they've assembled there in Cleveland, and I think they would be a blast to watch in the playoffs.

Reds get the extra-innings win to stay in the NL central race. Keep it up boys.

Your avatar cracks me up.

Sorry, but let the Indians goto the Wildcard. They freakin deserve it.

Wierd how the three teams in contention (Oakland, NY and Cleveland) had attrocious months of April and May .. now they are world beaters (except beating the Devil Rays!).

"I'M IN YOUR HEAD TORRE ... I'M IN YOUR HEAD!!"

Wowee zowee! Bravos win again! Smoltz vs. Pedro III! Further proof that the Mets suck- I know, I know what you're saying. Sure more wasn't needed, but like Jello there's always room!

DESERVE WHAT!? it's the team that wins, not the one who you think should make just because you get weak at the knees whenever someone mentions them. sheesh, some people.....

Regarding Joe's Avatar:
Yup. That pretty much sums it up. God, wouldn't it be great if we're swept by the Gays only to sweep Boston in return and end up....3 games back. It'd be like swimming in place for an hour in the middle of quicksand. Or frantically trying to stem the tide of that hershey squirt cascading down your thigh. Wouldn't that be fucking great??

i think it's do or die for torre. if they dont make it into the post season or get knocked out in the first round i think torre goes so steinbrenner can get pinella.

edit: i do think a large part of blame should be placed on torre. the team just seems lazy and doesnt play with any sort of fire. i blame posada more than randy, posada has killed this team all year long.
