Wait, Cleveland just took 5 of 6 from Minnesota and Oakland and they're "barely hanging on"?

:lol

I like the way major league baseball structured this schedule though. After 6 games with the Twins and Athletics, you get rewarded with an off day and then the Royals :)

5 games back

we'll be fine. people forget we are 10-3 against cleveland this year.
yes, they're on fire right now, but still....so far this year we've had their number. next week we'll see for sure....

Oh shit. You better start sweating Eminem I just looked at the White Sox schedule after KC tommorrow:

see the thing is, it's more up to cleveland than us.

if we beat KC tomorrow(CHRIST we better with Buehrle against Zach "my ERA is above 6" Grienke), take 3 of 4 from the tigers near the end of the year, and win just ONE game in each series we have against cleveland and minnesota, the magic number is down to 3.

that means that the indians can't lose more than 2 of their other 14 games. tough times.

5 games seems like a small lead, but not when there's only 16 games left in the year.

Tried some of this today

Actually decent stuff, gotta get at least medium or hot though.

Wow, 4.5 back now. This would be worse than the Cubs collapse in '69

I can't believe they lost today!!! :lol

Don't buy those tickets yet, Eminem! Would this be a bigger collapse than the Yankees in the ALCS last year?

:lol :lol :lol

It is on the White Sox if they can't win games anymore! :D

Could we be seeing Chicago's version of "The Giants win the Pennant! The Giants win the Pennant!"

That's bizarre.

THE INDIANS WIN THE PENNANT! THE INDIANS WIN THE PENNANT!

Now who's Bobby Thompson for them?

Holy shit, the last week of the season are gonna be nuts.

Sept 26-29
LAA @ OAK
HOU @ STL

Sept 30 - Oct 2
CWS @ CLE
NYY @ BOS
ATL @ FLA

There are other series that impact the wildcard

The only safe spot at the moment is the the Cardinals. Every other spot is up for grabs (somewhat)

AL West - Angels/Athletics
AL Cent - White Sox/Indians
AL East - Red Sox/Yankees
AL WC - All 6 Teams

NL West - Bad News Bears/UCSB Gauchos/SFSU Armadillos
NL East - Braves/Marlins/Phillies (long shot, but still possible)
NL WC - Braves/Astros/Marlins/Phillies/Nationals

This should be fun :)

now is when i start to get scared. buehrle, how about you don't pitch like the 2004 version of yourself from now on? kthankx

"We're playing lousy baseball on the bases, pitching, everything," manager Ozzie Guillen said Thursday after the Kansas City Royals emerged with a 7-5 win over the mistake-prone White Sox. "There's no doubt about it. We really flat-out stink. It's not the same team I've been watching all year."

"If I named all that I'm disappointed about, we might be here all day," Guillen said. "The entire week was disappointing. Even the game we won, I was disappointed. If we continue to play like this, good luck."

"Ever since the All-Star break, it seems like I haven't had too many good games. It's frustrating," said Buehrle. "We've still got six games with Cleveland. And the way that they're playing, they could sweep us right now. If we keep on playing like we're playing, we're not going to the playoffs. We'll be home on Oct. 3."

then step it up you fuckers

however, this is promising: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/ps_odds.php

Code:
AL Central W L Pct3 Avg W Avg L Champions Wild Card Playoffs
White Sox 88 57 .536 96.4 65.6 75.61866 21.42790 97.04656

1-1 going into the bottom of the 9th....if they win in extras, fine. but i can't take another bottom of the 9th loss after wednesday

Yankees won. Mo is Jesus Christ reincarnated.

Alan Embree and Felix Rodriguez are the pieces of shit that Mo picks off his shoe when he steps off the mound.

we get one fucking run. jesus.

PLEASE HOLD ON. leave jenks in. or cotts. DO NOT bring in Hermanson, ozzie, please.

C'mon Braves! Win games! First you lose 3 out of 4 to the Phillies, and now you lose to the Mets (continuing Smoltz's snakebit season). The Mets! The team that everyone in the NL East wipes their boots on. If the Braves don't get that bullpen going and stop the errors of the past week, it's going to be a more embarrassing playoff than usual for them. :p

Oh shut the fuck up. Until we started stinking these past two weeks we were what? 1 or 1.5 games out of the wildcard? We've done okay against this devision too save for the Braves.

i hate the Yankees as much as the next guy, but wtf was with that Randy Johnson ejection? The ump walks up to Randy like he wants to fight him and the Unit gets ejected? He escalated the whole situation. If there's something i hate more than anything in sports, its power hungry umps and refs.

I officially concede to the Mets not making the playoffs. The two weeks have been embarrassing. It's over.

PS. Fuck You Looper

getting ready to do your yearly switch to pinstripes? :lol

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!

bagwell2wi.jpg

Houston Astros' Jeff Bagwell hits a game-winning run-scoring single
in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 2-1,
Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, in Houston.

Bonds with his first HR of the season, Giants win and Padres lose. Is it possible for a player to win the MVP if he only plays like 20 games? :lol

Why would you go and disrespect pieces of shit that way? Have you no fecal decency?

Overheard in audience:

Yankee Fan #1: Motherfucker! Why can't this Rodriguez guy just fuckin' shoot himself already. Christ.

Yankee Fan #2: Yeah right. He'd miss low and away.

if you didn't see El Duque against Santana as a Chi Sox loss, you're a moron.

Ozzie shoulda started McCarthy instead. but he wants to play "the guys that got us here."
Fuck that. Duque has been shit for 2 months now. Take him out of the rotation.
