Fucking Indians, can't even muster one run, pathetic.

Oh and I watched all of that Reds/Mets game...Mets fans better hope their bullpen doesn't perform like that all season :lol

Pedro had a hell of an outing though...

Batting Dunn first isn't crazy. He walks a ton plus he would get more ABs a season. They would also pitch to Dunn in that situation because he would have protection behind him. But it's definatly not the best spot for him.

Dunn ideally should hit 2, 3rd, or 4th with Kearns, Griffey, or Casey behind him for some protection. It won't take long for people to realize it's better to walk Dunn and pitch to Randa. Of course, Miley, like most managers, believe it's a sin to hit three left handers in a row.

I would like the lineup to be - Jiminez, Dunn, Casey, Kearns, Griffey. The bad thing with that is Casey and Kearns are a dp waiting to happen.

Dmitri Young eats your whole team!

Holla!

Yikes, the Cubs are mashing the ball. Is it accurate to say that WGN is more Cubs-centric than White Sox? I don't mind either way, but in general I'd prefer seeing the AL but WGN looks like they have more Cubs games.

If I ran the graphics dept of a baseball telecast when the home team hit a multi-run homer I'd have the ticker update the score one by one and only when the guy actually touched home plate. Just seems cooler to have the score tick up slowly, and a piss off to rival fans. :D

FUCK I knew it was risky dressing Otsuka and Hoffman on opening day in Colorado. :(

I love watching WGN, such homers its hilarious

I imagine its just like when non-Leaf fans watch Leaf games

Just got back from the bar.......Awesome game. For a team that said they'd run this year, we certainly showed we have enough power in scoring all 5 runs off of HRs. Batista has an era of 0.00. Jays are tied for first place :D

Fucking Zambrano getting ejected for arguing balls and strikes when you have 4 2/3 innings pitched! :lol

Cubs lose those LOSERS Alou and Sosa and LOOK HOW THE OFFENSE RESPONDS! We don't need no stinking power hitters as we have plenty! We need men on base so those power guys could drive 'em in! The new and revised Cubs offense is here and is better than ever!!!

It stops at 97 years

The sad thing is that Looper is the best bullpen arm the Mets have. Their entire pen is a complete joke. I mean, their pen has frigging Heredia and Blowberto Hernandez in it. HORRIBLE.

Mets --> Spent $150 million this winter to finish in 4th in the NL East. :lol

Trivial tidbit:

Today's starting Battery for the Mets (Pedro and Piazza making $31 million combined) make more this year than the entire 25 man roster the Devil Rays are fielding right now ($28 million). :lol

I stole this from another forum and thought it was too ridiculous not to post.

that is EXACTLY why I hate the guy. I like Maddux, I like Prior and Wood(though I would love for them to get hurt), and I loved Clement when he was there last year.

But Zambrano is a fucking hothead who chokes under any pressure. If he lets runners on or he feels he's not getting the calls he screams and spit flies out of his mouth. Annoys the fuck out of me.

Yeah he need to chill the fuck out. If he relaxes he'll be the number one pitcher on this team.

Idiotic thing to say after one game right? Right...

How many blown saves by the Mets bullpen before you jump back on the Yankees bandwagon? :lol

THE CURSE OF LATOI COMPELS THE METS!!!

M's in da house... maybe the best offense we have ever had... even compared to the Jr/Arod days

why dont you guys talk about the Milwaukee Brewers? You may laugh now, but you'll soon see that this team has a bright future. Oh and by the way i'm a yankee fan. I hope nothing but the worst things to the red sox.

bullshit, Big Z may just be the most competitive of any of em. There's games where that helps him immensely, getting the competitive juices flowing. And there's games where it hurts him. He made a small comment anyway. And under pressure, he's pretty decent. Wood's more prone to complaining and choking. Prior's solid under pressure, and the most controlled overall.

Well, I was 6-4 yesterday just going on gut feeling... Oakland suprised me with their entire lack of offense as well as Minnesota. I mean, it's just Jaime Moyer guys.

Today:

Yankees over Red Sox 8-5
Florida over Atlanta 6-2 (although the Braves hold a lead into the 8th inning)
San Fran over Dodgers 6-1
St Louis over Houston 3-1 (last time Carpenter pitched at Minute Maid he gave up 2 hits over 8 innings.. wow)
Toronto over Tampa 9-7 (couple of rookie pitchers going at it in the AL? Either the bats are baffled or they run amok)
Angels over Rangers 6-2 (Colon was 6-0 against the Rangers last season)
Arizona over Cubs 5-3 (Maddux is a slow starter these days)
Minnesota over Seattle 7-(-1)

It took exactly one game for the Mets to expose themselves as the treacherous gang of losers that they are. Kuroyome and all the other Mets losers should know better. Even with Pedro pitching lights out, even with Beltran doing what he's supposed to do, your team can't win. BECAUSE YOUR RELIEF PITCHING IS WORSE THAN DIRT. And you poor idiots did NOTHING to fix that.

I feel sad for you poor deluded fools, in a way. Because last night's game is about as good as it's going to get for you. Pedro can't pitch every game, and every game he pitches in I garauntee you that he won't pitch like that. Beltran won't hit a homer every game. But your bullpen WILL be a steaming pile of feces IN EVERY SINGLE GAME.

Fourth? You poor bastards will be lucky if you don't finish LAST.

Guys, don't be so harsh on the Mets. Getting beat by the best team in baseball does NOT mean they're gonna finish last in their division. Jeez.

It does if their team is the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked. Which they kinda are.

The Met's bullpen is brutal, but Looper isn't that bad - he was solid all last year and easily the best part of the Mets pen. It's getting the ball to him that might, or probably will, kill them this year. Last night was an off night for Looper, like Hoffman getting lit up in Colorado and blowing his save in stunning Matt Herges-like fashion. Not that I'm still mad at Hoffman for ruining my early season fantasy ERA (him and Livan Hernandez, wtf was that shit he was tossing last night) but I'll admit I over-reacted a bit and briefly considered shipping his ass to someone who'd overpay for a closer.

I'm no Mets fan at all, but I stand by my prediction of them winning their division. Mainly because I fucking loathe the Braves. They'll trade for some over-the-hill relievers with big fat contracts but one good year left in their arms (Uggie Urbina, we're looking at you) and they'll be fine.

H. Matsui homered to deep right, A. Rodriguez scored
H. Matsui LF 2-2

Can we just skip the charade and name Godzilla AL MVP right now? Save everyone a bit of time. Sorry Vladdy!

Looper is ok. He's not a dominant closer, and not a terrible one, though I do think he'll be a little worse than last year. Every once in a while the guy is going to blow one, and everyone should know this.

Heath Bell is going to be good, but other than that the Mets middle relief is pretty shaky. Someone want to explain trading Stanton for Heredia, and then giving away Ginter just before the season starts? They spend eight zillion dollars in free agency, then try to save a few bucks in an already mediocre bullpen. Classic Mets.

The hilarious thing is that Heath Bell isn't in the Met's pen. They took Heredia and Blowberto Hernandez over Heath. Heath is in AAA right now. Mets management is incredibally smart. :lol

Foulke and Rivera getting touched up... damn sorry I missed this game. No doubt though, the Sox are officially all up inside Rivera's head like the Yanks were in Pedro's.

Boomer: nope I'm not in any GAF leagues this year. But with history as my guide I'd guess anyone with the name Thornhill would be BigJonnson. Or maybe I'm getting the Toronto are gaffers mixed up.

I seriously believe that the Sox have seen so much Rivera that the he's not as untouchable as he is against the rest of the league. He should try learning a new pitch or something. He's always been basically a two pitch pitcher (with a heavy reliance on just one.) If he calls me up, I'll teach him my patented no movement 90 mph fastball. The utter lack of movement will absolutely confuse the hell out of the Sox. :)
