Well between the batting lineup and the pitching substitutions Dusty truly put forth his best effort today in making sure the Cubs lost!

You gotta get the young guys some PT some time. Thats always been one of the Cubs problems. They'll bring a kid up sit him for 2 weeks then be like "go out there and be an all star in these next six at bat or we are sending you back down". Then they'll send some POS veteran back out there to hit .238 cause "they know what he can do".

If Pujols were in the Cubs organization he'd just now have made it to AAA.

True. How does Corey Patterson fit into all this, though? :lol

I'm watching sportscenter, and saw all the ejections yesterday! What is going on the last couple days? Umpires seem to have a twitchy finger and are ejecting a ton of players and coaches. Amazingly enough none of the players/coaches have been on the Cubs! :lol

Nationals come in to town today with their smoking hot ace. Good thing we have Prior to go up against him today. It's a shame we are going to have to stop that winning streak of the Nats and put them on a 3 game losing streak!

Well Patterson was supposed to be the savior of the franchise or some shit. So he's an exception. His problem is that he wants to be a home run hitter and he's friggin 5'8 170lbs midget.

And Prior well he came in with so much hype about being ready for the majors they had no choice but to fast track him.

I thought Cedeno looked pretty good yesterday. He always made contact(maybe he can teach Cory) and he used all sides of the field.

KENNY ROGERS SUSPENDED FOR 20 GAMES AND FINED AN UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH

ok, back to whatever you guys were talking about.

Kenny owned. WTF is with all these old senile guys exploding on people. Randy Johnson before the season, Kenny Rogers now, I hope Clemens is taking his meds. :(

the yankees might actually not make a move. from what ive read they wont make a trade unless teams demands go down because as of right now they're extremely high.

- rangers offered soriano for wang and cano yankees said no, rangers then immediately cut off talks with yankees.

- A's for kotsay would want cano, 20 year old CF melky cabrera (who could go from AA to AAA to MLB in less than a month), and 19 year old SP Philip Hughes. (both were first round picks).

- jason schmidt? same group of players.

God...well, teams sure picked the right time to try to stick the Yankees up. Whatever though...we should hang on to most of our prospects and make greats out of them. No more mortgaging the present with the future...or however that phrase is supposed to go.

...fucking A's. GIVE US KOTSAY OR BYRNES YOU BASTAGES

... You were saying?

Damn it.

We lost a game we should have won. If this team could play smart for once we would have many more wins!

The Cubs are pathetic. We knocked the so-called unbeatled Prior out with three runs and you guys lost to a team that's had more players on the DL in the entire league. Two of our OFs are playing injured. Our All-Star caliber 1B is out. Our All-Star 2B is out. Our SS hits the Mendoza line. Our 3B is a billion years old.

AND YOU LOST TO US SUCKAH.

Awwwww poor babies! It's not as easy as free agency now is it?

You can't just throw money around during the regular season to get the players you want. :lol

You guys deserve to overpay for whoever you're trading for.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Major league baseball is going international for its Home Run Derby on All-Star weekend.

Instead of having four players from each league, the commissioner's office said Friday it will have eight players represent their native countries at the July 11 event. Major league baseball plans to formally launch plans that day for its first World Baseball Classic, a 16-team event during spring training next year.

This year's Home Run Derby is at Detroit's pitcher-friendly Comerica Park, where the All-Star game will be played the following night.

The top four players in the first round advance to the semifinals, and the top two in the semis move on to the final.

Guess which teams are doing well?

ERA
Atlanta: 2.875
Cubs: 3.744
Astros: 2.414
CWS: 3.05

Astros easily have the best threesome and by far have the best one two punch with Oswalt and Clemens, just like last year.

I think it's funny that Steve Phillips just said on SC that STL has the best top 3 in Carpenter, Morris, and Mulder..Mulder has been their worst starter! There's no doubt that their rotation 1-5 is very strong, but best 1-3 in baseball? nuh-uh.

This summer, Matt Mantei is Walkman

Coming soon to a ballpark near you!

The Blue Jays are lurking in the AL East and they could make up some ground on the first-place Red Sox with a good series in Boston. On the other hand, if Boston plays well, the Sox will put Toronto, which trails by six games, in a deeper hole.

The Red Sox are still hot (8-2 in their last 10, 13-3 in their last 16), but it's just amazing to me that the Blue Jays won't go away. Toronto will be tough to sweep – Roy Halladay is pitching Sunday.

Who's hot: Matt Clement. The Red Sox right-hander will pitch Friday and is 9-1 on the season with a 3.33 ERA. He has won three straight starts, yielding a combined four earned runs and striking out a total of 22 batters in 22 innings.

Who's not: Gustavo Chacin. The Blue Jays' rookie left-hander hasn't won a game since June 6.

Marquee matchup: Halladay (11-4, 2.40) vs. Bronson Arroyo (6-4, 4.21) on Sunday.

Prediction: Red Sox win all three games.
Go Yahoo! I agree. Jays suck. Go Bosox! I hope we sweep these motherfuckers and the # of bandwagon fans wearing Sox and Yankees hats in Toronto decreases overnight.

Christ....Morgan Ensberg's been MASHING the past month. Booo...Lamb thrown out at the plate. Almost made it. Good to see they're being a bit aggressive though.

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

fuck this team, and fuck you baker, having patterson leadoff is the worst managerial decision in sports history.

The Jays have the Red Sox' number this year. Reed Johnson fucking owns us every damn time we face him. If the Sox can get todays' game against Gustavo then I'll be glad, because we all know what Halladay has been doing this year.

Also, don't look now but the Yanks are back in fourth place. Oh well, maybe Tim Redding and Darrell May will rescue them! Ha.

In other news, following his horrifying performance in last night's 15-2 shellacking, Matt Mantei has reportedly hit the DL. In his place will be the young lefty with vision in only one eye, Abe Alvarez.

So we send Quantrill and his crappy ERA to the Padres for... two guys with even crappier ERA's. GOOD MOVE CASHMAN.

Dear Brian/Gene/George/Joe,

ERA is suppossed to be a low number. For future reference, 9 is not a good ERA. Ever.

Thanks,

Yankee Fan
